This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds.
Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management.
This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life.
The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons.
All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you).
Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene.
Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest.
Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties.
We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay.
The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too.
The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away.
Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive.
Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc.
Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing.
Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601)
Asheville is 1:25 hrs to the West, Charlotte is 1:25 hr to the East.

I moved here from San Francisco, to simplify my life, and accomplish my dreams. The Tiny house was designed and built by architect, Jesse Plaster. It's a unique cozy loft style design, set back in the woods on our property. It's purposely placed next to a creek, with a nice stone fire ring to really enjoy the outdoors. In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Also, check out the workshops at Pattersonschoolfoundation.org They offer sustainable living classes such as cheese making, mushroom foraging, blacksmithing, soap making, kimchi making, etc... The treehouse is approximately 10'x10'. There is a loft consisting of a brand new foam full-size mattress while facing a clear semi-see-through roof. A futon sits below it. The bathroom consists of a portable toilet and sink in a tent off the treehouse. A shower station sits on the other side of the treehouse. Although there is no plumbing, both have water. (You only need to bring drinking water for yourselves.) There is electricity and WiFi. There is a cooler and an electric kettle available for you to use. Outside of the treehouse, there is a fire pit, a grill, a hammock, and a slide - plenty to do while relaxing in nature!
Please bring blankets/sleeping bags and pillows to sleep. (Both the foam mattress and the futon will have freshly laundered sheets.) If you plan to use the grill, please bring your own charcoal. Grilling utensils are provided.
Firewood is provided for the fire pit.
Although smoking is allowed on the premises, we ask that you do not smoke inside the treehouse. If you decide to smoke, please clean up after yourselves.
Checking out is easy! We ask that you throw away your trash & recycles and return the key to the lockbox. We take care of the rest! There is no need to refill the water or take the sheets off of the mattresses.
The hideaway is behind our backyard so you may see/hear us from time to time. There may be a cat or a dog running around although we find that they do not go out there as much without us.

For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Lake James State Park is 35 minutes away and offers great recreation potent entail as well as Linville Gorge which is 45-60 minutes away.

We offer two connected 8x16' tiers with center posts for hanging a tarp or setting up tents. You can see in our photos how a tent would fit on the platforms, there is plenty of space and truly amazing views right from your tent door. The site features a fire pit and an outhouse.

You'll also have access to a private bathroom complete with a fully functioning toilet, indoor/outdoor hot shower, and sink. Outside, a private covered kitchen awaits, equipped with a kitchen sink, cooler, pots and pans and cooking utensils. Relax in your lounge chairs on the porch and take in the views, and indulge in outdoor cooking with a gas grill, picnic table, and outdoor fire pit area.
During your stay at our farm, guests can unwind amidst natural surroundings, visit with our animals, enjoy on farm activities and explore the wide variety of local attractions that the surrounding area has to offer.
Just 30 minutes west, you’ll find the Blue Ridge Parkway. Kerr Scott Lake is only 10 minutes away, where you can swim, rent kayaks and pontoon boats, fish, or enjoy mountain biking and hiking on extensive trails. Prayer Mountain is about 2 miles up the road.
To the east, explore several wineries and a local moonshine distillery. A half-hour away, visit the Amish community with shops like Shiloh Bakery and General Store (closed Sundays and Mondays).

A perfect place to relax and enjoy the trees!
The treehouse is approximately 10'x10'. There is a loft consisting of a brand new foam full-size mattress while facing a clear semi-see-through roof. A futon sits below it. The bathroom consists of a portable toilet and sink in a tent off the treehouse. A shower station sits on the other side of the treehouse. Although there is no plumbing, both have water. (You only need to bring drinking water for yourselves.) There is electricity and WiFi. There is a cooler and an electric kettle available for you to use. Outside of the treehouse, there is a fire pit, a grill, a hammock, and a slide - plenty to do while relaxing in nature!
Please bring blankets/sleeping bags and pillows to sleep. (Both the foam mattress and the futon will have freshly laundered sheets.) If you plan to use the grill, please bring your own charcoal. Grilling utensils are provided.
Firewood is provided for the fire pit.
Although smoking is allowed on the premises, we ask that you do not smoke inside the treehouse. If you decide to smoke, please clean up after yourselves.
Checking out is easy! We ask that you throw away your trash & recycles and return the key to the lockbox. We take care of the rest! There is no need to refill the water or take the sheets off of the mattresses.
The hideaway is behind our backyard so you may see/hear us from time to time. There may be a cat or a dog running around although we find that they do not go out there as much without us.

About the property
You will have our entire 14 acre property to yourself which features some amazing mountain views and is adjacent to state lands for exploration.
To access the site you will drive approx. 15 minutes up a gravel road. Overall we are located about ~30 minutes from I-40 and about 25 min to Marion & Morganton, NC.
For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Lake James State Park is 35 minutes away and offers great recreation potent entail as well as Linville Gorge which is 45-60 minutes away.
About the listing
We offer two connected 8x16' tiers with center posts for hanging a tarp or setting up tents. You can see in our photos how a tent would fit on the platforms, there is plenty of space and truly amazing views right from your tent door. The site features a fire pit and an outhouse.

I had a good experience camping here with a friend. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The showers were a bit small but otherwise the bathrooms were really nice. My main issue at B2 was that the nearby light was bright and buzzed pretty loudly which made sleeping a little tough. Other than that I'd recommend this campground for exploring the Linville Gorge area

Wonderful private spot to enjoy nature. We hiked around the property, and also drove to nearby hikes. You have all you need at the site - pit toilet room, electricity, water, even a large folding table. We made it down to the rock house at the end of the Wilson creek road which was cool to see. We were visited by super friendly farm cat as well! Over all it was a wonderful place to unwind. Unbelievable sunsets and star gazing. we can't wait to come back!

From the hospitality (free coffee, firewood was brought to our site, friendly staff), to the site (plenty of space, right on the river, privacy while also being close to the bathrooms/showers and camp store). We are very happy with how our weekend at Tanglewood Creekside went!! The tent/cabin was very clean, fresh & spacious. Plenty of room for our food, bags & our dog. We are very eager to see how/when the bathhouses open & our only other complaint was that the creek access points at each campsite could be better maintained (very steep, we just wish that there were some logs or stones to make it easier to get in & out) & that the walk down to the fire pit was better constructed! (Same notes as above, some gravel steps or stepping stones to get down would have made it much more enjoyable!)
Otherwise we had a lovely, relaxing weekend. The generators were so nice to utilize and the porch chairs were so nice that we are now planning on getting some for our home!! We absolutely will be back.

Nice secluded spot for a good night's sleep. Close to Linville and Morganton. I appreciated the extra touches, like a water catchment and benches for a kitchen area. The only tricky thing was getting there. The address on the driveway is 3626, not whatever it says on HipCamp. The Rose Creek Retreat sign is small and easy to miss. 4wd definitely helpful to get up the steep driveway.

We had a great weekend at this site. The campground is large enough to have privacy and is easy to find. If you’re looking for serious isolation in nature this might not be the place for you, but if you want a pleasant with convenient access it’s ideal. Very family friendly. Blair was prompt and helpful. The tent/cabin is awesome. Loved sleeping on a decent mattress!

Plumtree was amazing for our group of 3. The I2 site was incredible, and definitely the site we would pick again. Very private and the sound of the creek at night was the chef’s kiss! All three of the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Our 2WD vehicles did ok on the terrain, only getting iffy when the ground was wet (but I definitely recommend 4WD for the I sites. The bathrooms were always extremely clean, well stocked, and warm (which was amazing in the 30° weather). The camp store was well stocked with anything we needed or wanted! Overall one of the best hipcamps we have stayed at! 😊 Thank you very much to Jennifer, Jeb, and Jimmy for an incredible stay!

Highly recommended! This campsite has everything we need: space, nature, and a break from the city. I brought a couple of new campers along, and they had a blast—not just because of the company, but because of the camping experience itself.
Visiting Linville Falls and Linville Caverns was a highlight of the trip. The weather was awesome for the two nights and three days we were there. Overall, we had a spectacular experience and will definitely be back!
One important thing to add: the bathrooms are super clean. The owners greeted us with a warm welcome and even invited the campers for coffee every morning. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Weekend Trip to Glamping At Fall Creek Retreats
Wow, what a gem this place is. My girlfriend and I were fortunate to be the only ones staying last weekend, it was absolutely tranquil. We stayed in the geodome. Being right on the creek, away from everyone and everything, and still having WiFi to share pics with friends and family made it that much better. We stayed for two nights, checked out and made it to Boone in just 25 minutes to start our adventure down the mountain. Paul was quick to message back when we couldn’t figure out the WiFi password, and checked on us during our stay. Safe to say we would highly recommended this spot!
