Spectacular mountain views, native trout waters, privacy, and kindness are the cornerstones of “Two Sisters and a Goat.” We have two spacious RV sites with full hookup located approximately 13 miles SE of Burnsville, NC and in the township of Celo. We provide a family friendly environment and an outdoor fantasy for hiking, biking, fishing, etc. Also, we have plenty of room for tent camping. The entire site can be reserved for special events. Our property is nestled in the foothills of Mount Mitchell and has been in our family name since 1970. White Oak Creek runs along the property and has a beautiful 20-foot-high multi-tiered waterfall on the Pisgah National Forrest, only a 0.5 mile walk from the RV sites. The creek serves as a tributary to the South Toe River, meandering 2 miles from the waterfall. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 7.5 miles and to drive to the peak of Mount Mitchell is an additional 17 miles. *Caution: Do not drive to the end of White Oak Creek Road with your RV. This is where the waterfall is located and the turn around area small and can be extremely difficult to turn your rig around. There is no other outlet. Please be advised to stop along side the road in front of The RV sites. We will assist and ensure that you can safely back your RV into one of the sites. The views are hypnotic and look down and out over the continental divide. Good morning sun and sunsets can be seen in the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some 2/3rds and some 1/3rd, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck has sun and rain curtains for helping keep comfortable in normal weather. Dogs enjoy a two gate system so quests and dogs can be leash free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned weekly. Lights and electrical is 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low level string lights so one can see the night sky. Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, fickle solar shower and pop up changing room along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial wipes. I provide various size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away and All Trails is a great app for finding trails suited for your interest. Be respectful to the place and please be friendly to the people you meet. Learn more about this land: Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. We also had some damage to the electrical power due to the storm, so we have temporarily shut off the power to the RV pad. We are currently working to have it repaired. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend) If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it! The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close. Looking Forward: July update. We are currently working on provided an all downhill mountain bike trail from 3600 to 3150ft. This path will be double wide for the most part and wide open at first to soak in the se view. Will update when completed! *a ride back up for your bike and yourself will be scheduled if requested OnTopOfTheWorld.camp *firewood is available if you pay on site you will have to use Venmo/Paypal *We do not allow any harvesting of campfire wood or burning of our property outside of the designated fire ring. We use any downed wood on our property for our family to keep warm and to cut and split ourselves to sell to our guest. Blue Ridge Ranch, established in December of 2020, is located on 440 acres nestled between two mountain ridges in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property features an established pasture, mountain ridges, barns, and a homestead. In addition, the ranch is home to five ponds (some stocked and one trophy), more than a mile of trout streams, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Together, they provide the perfect foundation for the establishment of farming, livestock, camping, and community events. All profits of Blue Ridge Ranch go to Hope for His Children, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that conducts youth camps at the ranch. Tours of the ranch are available for $10/person (to offset fuel expense) and includes interaction with some farm animals. We pride ourselves in doing everything possible to help our guests have a great experience. We offer coffee during morning hours in our farm store! We are sorry, but we are not able to allow guests to bring ATV's and motorcycles to operate on the property. There are many acres of hay that we must protect and our agritourism insurer does not allow guests to operate ATV's and motorcycles on property.

Our property is nestled in the foothills of Mount Mitchell and has been in our family name since 1970. White Oak Creek runs along the property and has a beautiful 20-foot-high multi-tiered waterfall on the Pisgah National Forrest, only a 0.5 mile walk from the RV sites. The creek serves as a tributary to the South Toe River, meandering 2 miles from the waterfall. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 7.5 miles and to drive to the peak of Mount Mitchell is an additional 17 miles. *Caution: Do not drive to the end of White Oak Creek Road with your RV. This is where the waterfall is located and the turn around area small and can be extremely difficult to turn your rig around. There is no other outlet. Please be advised to stop along side the road in front of The RV sites. We will assist and ensure that you can safely back your RV into one of the sites. 10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. We also had some damage to the electrical power due to the storm, so we have temporarily shut off the power to the RV pad. We are currently working to have it repaired. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend) If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it! The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close. Looking Forward: July update. We are currently working on provided an all downhill mountain bike trail from 3600 to 3150ft. This path will be double wide for the most part and wide open at first to soak in the se view. A rocky creek winds through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

Overview

Explore the untamed wilderness of eastern North Carolina from a Lenoir base camp. Set in the Lower Creek Valley near the Catawba River, Lenoir is filled with cultural attractions like sculpture parks, wineries, and the Edgar Allan Poe House and flanked by hilly forests and creeks. Campers find four seasons of outdoor fun nearby, where popular activities include kayaking along picturesque Wilson Creek, hiking to the top of Hibriten Mountain, and fishing in any of the region’s hundreds of water courses. Many of Lenoir’s best campsites and cabin rentals, both rustic and furnished, are conveniently located near top spots like South Mountains State Park and Pisgah National Forest.

South Mountains State Park

Enjoy a rustic backcountry experience at South Mountains State Park, about an hour’s drive from Lenoir. Featuring 40 miles of woodland trails, visitors can hike its hilly terrain, backpack to discover its 80-foot tall waterfall, or fish for trout in its clear mountain streams. Trot along equestrian trails or test your mountain biking prowess along cycling paths. The park offers year-round activities with campgrounds and RV parks close by.

Hibriten Mountain

A celebrated Lenoir landmark, Hibriten Mountain is on the western edge of the Brushy Mountains. The summit stretches 1,000 feet above surrounding green landscapes and beckons climbers to hike to the top to enjoy its majestic views. In addition to hiking, the mountain is a popular hang gliding destination and site of annual 5K and 10k marathons for charity. Nearby cabin rentals and campsites afford visitors plenty of options for camping.

Pisgah National Forest

Just 30 minutes from Lenoir, Pisgah National Forest is a must-visit destination for hikers and kayakers. Wilson Creek spills over rocks and hills, offering postcard-worthy views to visitors. Park visitors enjoy activities like swimming, fishing, tubing, and hiking to witness park marvels like Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, and Moore Cove Falls. With nearby RV parks, tent campsites, cabin rentals, and family-friendly campgrounds, the national forest features accommodations for all types of campers and glampers.

When to go

With its foothills location in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lenoir offers outdoor excitement year-round, with peak camping season between April and October. During mild winters, the region attracts hardy backpackers to its nearby national and state recreation areas.
