We have owned this property since 2005. The pond is a favorite place of ours and we would love to share it with you!! We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us.
The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds.

We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life and makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up.
There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them.
We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.
Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC). Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.

Camp Tuck is a private secluded campsite for one. We love this special spot so much that we wanted to share it with others. An individual 3/4 acre campsite directly on the beautiful Tuckaseegee River in the Great Smoky Mountains.
No other campers, just you, the incredible view and soothing sound of the river and the beauty of nature. If you long for peace and tranquility, then this beautiful place is for you.
This site is for Class A, B and C RV's up to a maximum of 30ft in length, and Camper Vans and Camper Trucks with onboard bathroom facilities. Please note that Travel Trailers and 5th wheels are not allowed due to the site configuration and access. No tent campers unless with an RV that meets the above guidelines, due to no bathroom or shower facilities onsite.

11/10 ! absolutely loved this quaint spot. we saw a few deer and a wild turkey during our short stay. the little library out front was such a highlight and made my partner and i feel
so welcomed. we definitely want to come back again. it was my partner’s first time camping and she enjoyed herself so much. we also visited vogel state park which was a 30 min drive and worth it. highly recommend. thank you megan :)

Michael came through for me for a last minute request on my impromptu road trip! The spot was perfect for what I needed - a convenient and affordable spot to put my tent and get a good sleep. The tent pad was level and comfortable and 2 picnic tables let me spread out my stuff. I will say the site is right off the highway but I'm a sound sleeper and it didn't bother me. The sound of the creek was nice.

Michael’s Hipcamp was perfect for our weekend of hiking in the Smokies. We had a beautiful spot to put our tent with plenty of privacy. The fire ring was great for our needs, and we loved the thoughtfulness of the grill, even though we didn’t use it. I’m always happy when there is a picnic table at a tent site, so having one was definitely a bonus:). We did hear traffic because it is close to the highway, but it didn’t bother us. (Also, it doesn’t “feel” like you are close to the highway.) Overall, this was a very good Hipcamp experience and we recommend!!

Camp Tuck is awesome. We have visited twice this year and both times were amazing! The first visit we saw bald eagles and 2 huge elk! The second we saw an otter. John is easy to deal with. Will definitely be back.

What a safe sweet oasis to camp and land after long hiking days. The space is described perfectly in host description. We loved seeing the turkey and deer families stroll through, found plenty of deadfall firewood, and slept like a dream next to the sweetest little pond. Will stay again! Also the little library was amazing and thoughtful!

Tent camping for 2 nights. Great elevated spot, perfect for telescoping the night sky (amateur tip: the wee pre-dawn hours are best). Site is conveniently located to all the area has to offer with plenty of space to camp or glamp. Michael was a great host as well. Site was very well groomed and comfortable. My son and I had a great time!

Great little spot for tent or car camping! Very easy to find and access. Yes, you are near a residential street and can hear cars off in the distance at times. However, I still found it to be relaxing and quite peaceful. Dense trees and being tucked back away from the road make it so you can barely see any nearby houses. The area is almost completely shaded, so no sunglasses were required! Lots of kindling to be found and a nice fire pit. Got to hear lots of birds and the pond has frogs! The site is well maintained, clean, and I felt very safe as a solo female.

The spot is just as pictured, beautiful. I found the camptuck.com website to also be very informative of the site and the area. Be sure to look at their notes regarding the driveway, especially regarding tow behinds as it is very helpful and will keep you from getting into a tough spot. experience was 10/10 for what I was needing.

Beautiful little spot with a very picturesque pond! We had our own little nook of paradise. We had a fun hike at Blood Mountain, cooked over the fire and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors together with some deer visitors here and there.
