We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin.
When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there.

You will find some of the best trout fishing and hiking trails in all of North Carolina at your doorstep. This temperate rain forest is enjoyable in every season and is exceptional in its ecological diversity and abundance. If you are interested in hiking to beautiful waterfalls, fishing in native trout streams, bird watching or star gazing, this is the place for you! And if you need supplies from town, Cashiers is the closest and is about 25 minutes away and Highlands is about a 45 minute drive. Both have great restaurants and shops to check out.
Our gated, gravel driveway is steep and a half mile long. You will need an all-wheel or 4 Wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway without spinning. There is ample space to turn around to park, but due to the nature of our driveway we limit the length of RV's to no more than 20 feet. The space:
The Airstream serves as the cozy primary bedroom inside the cabin, featuring a queen and single bed, plus a half bath. Two charming lofts above the Airstream offer queen beds with charging outlets and tiny-house-style low ceilings. The cabin also boasts a full bath with a stunning nature-view shower and a kitchenette equipped with a burner, dishwasher, and refrigerator.
Step outside to enjoy a cantilevered deck high among the trees with a creek serenade below and mountain ridgeline and peak views including Sharp-Top Mountain. We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin.
When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there.

And if you need supplies from town, Cashiers is the closest and is about 25 minutes away and Highlands is about a 45 minute drive. Both have great restaurants and shops to check out.
Our gated, gravel driveway is steep and a half mile long. You will need an all-wheel or 4 Wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway without spinning. There is ample space to turn around to park, but due to the nature of our driveway we limit the length of RV's to no more than 20 feet. Please read the House Manual before booking. We have a firm check in/check policy: 4:00pm is check in, 10:00am is check out. We cannot allow cats due to allergies. We do allow 1 dog, please message us with any questions. There is a $50 pet fee. Please close the hot tub after use and turn the lights and the jets off. The temp shouldn’t be raised above 104 degrees. We have bundles of firewood for sale for $8.00/bundle located on the other side of the barnwood wall. Please place cash in the little antique mailbox located above the firewood, on the wall. Don’t leave trash outside overnight due to wildlife. Please place trash on the other side of the barnwood wall to be picked up in the morning. We provide 6 towels, washcloths, hand towels, dish towels, blankets, dish soap, paper towels (1), toilet paper (4 rolls), disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, hot tub towels, small pet clean up bags, outdoor trash can for pet clean up, small hotel size shampoo and conditioners, lotions, soap, hair blow dryer, outdoor fire pit, bundled fire wood for sale, and a charcoal grill. This campsite is amazing! The views, the privacy, the hot tub were perfect! The driveway up to it is a little intimidating but my husband made it fine with a 1500 truck and our 17’ R Pod. Just like the listing says, 4wd is a must, but so worth it when you make it to the top! Such a nice place that Lee is sharing with others!

This cabin was the perfect mountain escape—quiet, tucked into a ravine, and surrounded by winding roads and beautiful views. We arrived late Friday, please note when arriving in the dark it may be a bit hard to find but for us it just added to the laughs. There was no signal out near the cabin, so it took a bit of teamwork, but we got it figured out.
Saturday was all about the outdoors: breakfast at Bear Necessities Café, then hiking Amicalola Falls (about 40 mins away, but again we appreciated the drive through the mountains and we're not rushed to do anything). We tackled the 425+ stairs at the falls, and tag-teamed carrying our dog, who absolutely refused the metal steps 😂. Sunday’s rain slowed things down in the best way—gold mine tour, incredible Mediterranean food at Pharaoh’s Feast, then soaking in the hot tub and ending each night with a campfire. Peaceful, cozy, and dog-friendly. Couldn’t ask for more.

Still spectacular. I want to add a few more notes.
We've been in a hundred hot tubs and this is the best model so far. This past trip temps were in the teens and the heat kept up impeccably. The best part is that it heats silently. This is important if you prefer listening to nature rather than the hum of a hot tub pump. Also very clean and well maintained.
You can park your trailer parallel to and close to the firepit setup and hot tub and get level using 6" ramps under each tire on the low side. But we found we prefer to be parallel to the woods as shown in these pictures. It provides a more panoramic 280° view from the hot tub. Setting up this way requires 6" ramps under each tire and the tongue dropped almost to the ground. It was worth it to us.

1 night at Tiny Home Way
This was a perfect weekend getaway! We only stayed a single night, but this tiny gem is equipped with everything you need. Beautiful setting, even in winter.
We weren't concerned but we were wondering how well heated the cabin would be. When we woke in the morning it was 24F, feels like 9F, and we had had a toasty night. Blankets provided were perfect. Space heater was excellent. The floor and bottom level were cooler, but the heat rising to the sleeping loft necessitated turning on the fan to circulate and ease a bit of stuffiness, as crazy as that is.
And the hot tub was blessedly HOT, even in the freezing weather. Towels provided. We thoroughly enjoyed a bit of stargazing even with the string lights lit.
We wished we had remembered our firewood. The fire pit by the creek is so inviting, with log formed benches and a bar height one for ease with refreshments. It was still a great coffee spot in the morning.
Jodi and her team are excellent communicators. I was able to consult with them about some of the forest roads in the area as we wanted to do the short day hike to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. MAJOR TIP: approach the parking lot from the north/west direction on the forest service road.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Luxurious Couples Getaway-Reboot!
We loved the private cabin that we were in and there's another nearby camp area but there was no one there so we had the space for ourselves. We would definitely recommend anyone to go and the owner was able to let us take our dog somewhat last minute so that was really nice. The owner answer our messages before and while we stayed in cabin so that was really nice. The cabin was clean and organized before we got there and we had had no issues finding the cabin.

This was absolutely perfect for us, but may have TOO MUCH privacy for some folks. You are truly alone here. Incredible hardwood property. Beautiful hikes, fishing, and drives in the area.
We made it up - no problem - with a 21' camper (25' true length) and a crew cab 2500, but this is about max length (2-3 steep, narrow gravel switchbacks -- 4x4 mandatory). Bring extra leveling blocks and 30' of sewer hose.
For the right people with the right rig, this spot simply can't be beat. Thank you for sharing!

Weekend Trip to Treehouse Hollow and Cabin Rentals
Excellent. 10/10. The house is clean and very well maintained. It’s super cozy. Hot tub worked great, blankets available for hanging outside. Stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels. Right on the water on fairly flat land. Had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again. Host is friendly and super responsive. Can’t wait to visit again as Franklin is an excellent place for a short vacation. Great places to eat and shopping within a short distance. My only complaint is that the beds are small, hard to tell if they were fulls or queens. No King bed (which is what I’m used to). Also no full-length mirrors. But otherwise, we loved it and will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed at Lees site for 4 nights. We just left today and I have to say we did not want to leave. We are avid campers and have stay a lot of places up down the eastern US. This site by far takes our top stay. The availability of well water, power hooks up, and firewood just helped us to tent camp for 4 nights. But how could we not bring up the view? The view of the white rock mountains was so beautiful. It almost makes the site not feel real. It feels like a hallmark movie. The fact that Lee chose to add a hot tub just adds to the site. My wife and I enjoyed our coffee every morning in the hot tub. And if you want seclusion this is it. The drive up to the site from the gate feels like 2-3 miles of driving and you don’t hear a car or a person the whole time you’re there. So 5 stars. Lee does a great job. Clean site and very communicative also. We don’t have a bad thing to say and we will be back. If you’re reading this right now. Stop reading. Go book the site. Oh and make sure you stay 3 nights and have 2 full days there. 1 day there wouldn’t be enough. Trust me.

Amazing little cabin! Very clean and well thought out design. My son and I stayed for the weekend and loved the rushing creek right from the huge back covered patio. We also really enjoyed the clean hot tub. There was plenty of seclusion and privacy even with renters in the treehouse next door. We will definitely stay here again!

2 nights at Hiawassee Glamping
We had an awesome stay at the container tree house. Wasn't sure what to expect but we were extremely happy. The view is amazing and the house its self is cozy especially for a couple looking for a great weekend. My wife had an amazing birthday and went on and on about how great the place was. The hot tub looking out into the mountains with the lake below is pretty epic!
Brian the host gave us tons of recommendations and even helped us find a mountain biking trail where my wife got to have her first ride and now she's hooked.
We will definitely be coming back and will most likely try all three units on the property as they all look killer. I almost don't want to write this review so that we can keep this a secret for ourselves.

We had a wonderful time staying at Private Glamping w/ Outdoor Shower at Private Glamper/HOT TUB/MNTN VIEWS. Our hosts were so kind and thoughtful, and the setup was excellent and had everything one needs for a very comfortable and memorable glamping experience. The hot tub was definitely a highlight for us. Despite a sudden cold front coming in, the camper was always at a comfortable temperature and we never felt cold at night, even with outside temperatures dropping below freezing. Thank you again to our generous hosts for a great stay in this little oasis in Bryson City. We look forward to visiting again.
