You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

We truly cannot say enough good things about these hosts or this property! They welcomed me and my little family with more kindness than we’ve ever experienced traveling or even near home. I’ve been through a lot emotionally and physically, and we came hoping to heal they made us feel safe, cared for, and supported. From leaving an apple for my son when he qhickly needed some fiber, to helping with groceries and packages, to lending us a propane fire pit and giving my little one a tiny shovel, their kindness never stopped. We honestly felt like God placed us on their property for a reason. We are forever grateful. The property is immaculate with beautiful views. Even with a nearby road, it was incredibly quiet- early mornings and nights were almost ethereal, like being deep in the country. The pavilion was wonderful, and river access just steps away was perfect for skipping rocks and listening to the peaceful water. We also loved the community garden and the kind neighbors. Star gazing during the solar storm was completely amazing because of the extremely low light pollution from any cities. SHOOTING STARS GALORE! Ceaser's head was only minutes away and so was Cup & Saucer coffee shop that had amazing pumpkin spice lattes and an allergy friendly quiche! This stay was full of warmth and peace. These hosts truly feel like family to us, and because of them, we now want to move to the area. We will never forget our time here and highly, highly recommend staying with them. ❤️

The campsites are well maintained with easy access to utilities. The communal barn is exceptional! A perfect place to get away from it all. Cell service is spotty, but the barn has Wi-Fi. Louedith was a great host! We will definitely be back.

This is the second time we have stayed at this site. Once in early summer and now late fall. It is one of our favorites. We wanted to try some cooler weather camping to test out some new gear and this was the perfect spot. The leaves were mostly off the trees at the site, but the leaves on the surrounding mountains were still spectacular. I would recommend to anyone looking for views and a beautiful place to camp.

We had a great time there. Louedith’s place is great. Chris was a gem! We loved that y’all invited us up for some music and we even got to sing some karaoke! Very peaceful and relaxing spot. Had it all to myself. Felt safe too as I was camping alone with my dog. Town is close so that’s a plus. Got to see coyotes while I was driving down the mountain one morning and saw a few pileated woodpeckers among tons of other birds and wildlife. I had and amazing much needed trip. Would definitely camp here again.

Lijah's Ridge - beautiful views ! We enjoyed our stay here - and loved the drive up to location. The description for site was accurate - and I might say that this site would be perfect for tents and group of people. We have a roof top tent -so we parked just in front of the tree stumps. Weather was gorgeous - made fire, purchased some wood as part of camp site. Recommending ! Note: This is in description, but can be easily missed. Campers on site above will park in same area, and if you have a rooftop tent - someone maybe parked quite close to you. It did not bother us - but FYI.

We enjoyed how quiet and peaceful it was. Louedith was very responsive and when we had an issue with our sewer hose she and her husband responded immediately and tried to help remedy our situation. We enjoyed exploring trails and waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest. Would definitely stay here again.

We had such a a relaxing time on Jill and Fara's land. The communication was great... Directions led us right there with no problem! The views were breathtaking with the leaves changing. We had plenty of room... We had tents. The electric was a absolute plus! We had perfect cell service! It was close the the Blue Ridge Pkwy which was beautiful during peak foliage. Feels far away but your close to grocery and gas. It was a quick drive to get to Maggie Valley. Had a great experience!!

We love this spot! It is convenient to both Asheville and Waynesville but has the peace and quiet of the country. The views of the mountains are wonderful. We camped in a 23’ travel trailer and had plenty of space for truck and trailer. Site 1 is next to the Airbnb but everyone has plenty of privacy with the way they both are situated and a privacy wall that has been built between the 2. Site 1 is gravel and well packed and very level. He didn’t have to do much more than pull in and park. Hook ups are good but a longer water hose (50’) may be needed. The barn is charming and gives another hang out space when you don’t want go go nowhere but don’t want to be in the camper. Louedith is a wonderful host. She is very welcoming and genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay. We will be back.

This campsite was exactly what I needed. I brought my trailer with a rooftop tent and it fit into the space perfectly. The mountain views were incredible, and the dark skies made it ideal for astrophotography which is just what I was hoping for. The porta potty was super clean, which was a huge relief for my daughter. We had a few friendly horses wander over to say hello at our site looking for head scratches. Getting there does require a 4x4 or all wheel drive, so keep that in mind. The site did have a fire ring and a swing hanging from a tree, which we loved. Jessie, who works there, was amazing with my daughter and she let her help brush the horses and really helped her get over her fear of them. It was one of those trips that just perfect from start to finish.

We loved staying on Jann and Bill's Little River Hideaway, it was central to so many different experiences! Hiking, biking, town of Brevard is nearby for restuarants and groceries as well as a neat downtown area! While we were there at LR, there was a Jamboree in the Cedar Mtn area that we enjoyed. The campspot was very spacious and easy to get into, we have a 32 foot TT and had plenty of room to spread out. Our pups had fun as well, they enjoy when they have room to run! Thanks to Jann and Bill! We will return to their little slice of heaven when we are in the area!

Welcome to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina! At approximately 3,455 feet elevation we enjoy mountain breezes all summer PLEASE DO NOT ‘photo book’! We ask guests to please read through the details BEFORE booking a site. For example: not all tent sites are park at sites. Some of our more secluded sites in the woods are far from bathrooms etc. Sites near the winery/bathrooms are not secluded and you can see/hear ‘people’. The ‘wildlife’ sites require parking in guest parking and a 5 minute walk. As of Jan 2025 we change to an age 13+ campground. No one under the age of thirteen years old is permitted to camp overnight. Younger children will still be permitted to visit the winery next door to the campground during open hours but must have an adult (18 years plus) with them at ALL times! Due to an incident that could have ended in tragedy we have a zero tolerance policy of unsupervised children. You will be asked to leave if your young child is unattended by an adult. During the summer months we often have free range chicken eggs and organic produce and herbs available for our campers. We are next to our own winery/cidery that features home brew wines and beer. We also offer sodas. Firewood is for sale. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state. We have a few primitive sites in our woods for those who love more seclusion and places to hang hammocks. Again, PLEASE read through all the descriptions of each particular site to make certain you choose the right fit for your camping needs. We offer Hiking/jogging trails at the campground with more trails on the nearby blue ridge parkway. We are just around the corner from the famous Emerald Village Mines and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Little Switzerland. We are also only a 5 minutes drive to the famous Diamondback scenic mountain road. Approximately 20 minutes drive to Crabtree Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our cantina next door at 539 blue ridge gem mine road is open for the season and serving home brew beers and small batch ciders for ages 21 and older. Photo ID required. Sodas available for purchase as well. We now have a well lit covered porch area and club house with free WiFi and available 24 hours to our campers. Note: absolutely no outside alcohol or underage alcohol consumption permitted on premises. Anyone not in compliance with North Carolina state laws and federal laws will be evicted from campgrounds without refunds. If the campgrounds happen to be under a burn ban please understand that we can’t and will not break the law for you! All campers must obey the burn ban if in effect or face possible penalties under state law! This is for your own safety as well. Anything sold by us may be legally consumed at your campsite and is covered under our winery ABC permit. Camp host can’t go to bed until all campers are checked in so no late night arrivals please! Thank you for your understanding. Adult horseback trail rides are available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Retreat. Maps provided to Springmaid Mountain. All minors must have ADULT supervision at all times at the winery next door (older siblings do not qualify as adult supervision). With farm animals and 140 acres of woods nearby and three deep ponds in those woods it can be a dangerous situation for young, unsupervised children. If we are babysitting your children to keep them out of danger or from damaging our property you’ll be asked to leave. We want everyone to be safe. Up to 2 dogs are allowed per campsite. It is the responsibility of our campers to check the weather conditions, noting any burn bans for the area or rain etc, looking at all the rules and property details, before booking is the campers responsibility. Please do not blame the host! HipCamp now offers rainy day insurance Watch for our special events like ghost story campfire tales/walk with local guest authors, mountain yoga, herbal remedies classes, trail treasure hunts with prizes, mushroom identification classes etc. Additional parking is available for added cars in the guest parking lot area if campers have no more room at their campsite for visitors or any extra cars. Note: The quarter mile of gravel drive is steep but I drive my two wheel drive car up and down it every day. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. The tiny home accommodates 2-3 people - perfect for those who want to be close to their camping friends/families but don’t have campers. This property was my childhood home and after retiring, my husband and I moved back to one of the homes on this farm where I grew up. He has since passed and my son, Todd, now helps me maintain the property and assists with ensuring the best experience for our guests. We wanted to offer this space for campers to share the awesome views and this part of North Carolina with others who enjoy nature, outdoors, and all the great things to experience in the surrounding towns. Only a 20 minute drive to Asheville where you can tour Biltmore House, Grove Park, breweries, eat at many great restaurants, enjoy rafting, zip lining and many other outdoor activities. We are 15 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway with 2-lane, less traveled access road to get there. Bring your bikes and hiking equipment - plenty of room to ride and roam. The old red barn on property has been restored and offers relaxation loft for your enjoyment.
