Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space.
Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits.
Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads.
Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.

There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy.
While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night!
Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables.
Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October.
The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County.
The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc.
Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge.
Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands!
We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival.

Welcome to Peak A View Farm & Camp where Rest and Relaxation are a Reality! Come enjoy the beautiful landscape of the western mountains in Ashe County, NC on ninety acres of farmland and forest surrounded by mountain peaks, the New River and breathtaking sunsets. On the drive in, to the southeast you can see Peak Mountain for which the property was named. The mountain is part of the New River State Park and is known for its scenic river views and hiking trails.
Two RV buddy campsites are available on the property. Campsite #1 was originally created for our personal use. Campsite #2, so our fellow camping buddies could join us. Although a short drive from our homes, the serenity of the property always makes us feel as if we’ve travelled many miles. Campsites are laid out in an ‘L’ shape which creates the perfect group camping experience. Guests can choose to camp alone or invite others. Campsite 1 and 2 are reserved together as one booking due to the close proximity of the sites.
The property is secluded, but easily accessible. Campsites are full hookups which include water, sewer and 50 amp electric. Both sites can accommodate any size RV. They are gravel and level which makes getting set up easy. A 30 x 30 shelter with concrete floor, lights, picnic tables and trash bin is nearby, which is a great asset in any weather. A fire pit and chairs are a nice addition for evening enjoyment. Firewood is provided. WiFi is available.
The area is pet friendly. Pets can be off leash, however, you might consider leashing your pet, as wildlife is frequently seen. If your furry friend is anything like our dogs, the chase is on when a deer, squirrel or turkey makes a sudden appearance!
During your stay, take a 7/10 mile walk down to the New River. Pull up one of the chairs on the small covered deck overlooking the river, sit back and take in the sounds of the calming waters. Watch floaters, kayakers and canoe navigators pass by or enjoy your own floating, fishing and swimming. On the other side of the river is part of the New River State Park.
A 15 minute drive will take you to downtown West Jefferson for restaurants and shopping. Visit the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce online or downtown for information on our county’s many attractions and events.

Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising
cattle and other farm animals.
The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's.
The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows.
The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's.
While many tobacco barns in the area have been
torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to
restore the barn and preserve its history.

Located on a scenic ridge in the peaceful family friendly community of Taylors Valley, VA. You are also located 11 minutes from the heart of Damascus, VA (trail city USA).
Area Attractions:
-Campsite is less than one mile away from the Appalachian Trail and the Virginia Creeper Trail which the area is known for.
-Rent bikes in Damascus and take a shuttle to the top of the Virginia Creeper trail and enjoy the 13 mile gradual descent down a converted railroad line through some of the most beautiful scenery Southwest VA has to offer.
-40 minutes from Grayson Highland State park (hike among wild ponies)
-40 minute drive to the summit of Whitetop Mountain (2nd highest peak in VA) Amazing Views!
About the sites:
There is a large parking area right off main road for easy access. Those with vans and RVs can set up right on the gravel parking area (also an option to tent camp right beside the parking area and enjoy the open sky and long range views. Campers who are willing to walk up a somewhat steep him can tent camp in the beautiful hilltop tent camping site which is located in a grove of pine trees.
This is a new Hip Camp listing and sites are privative for now. Enjoy unplugging as you camp because there is No Cell Phone reception here. There is WIFI at the neighborhood restaurant, Hellbender's Café just 4 minutes away (typically open from 11-5pm) during the warmer months. While there is no electricity (or hookups for RVs), there are very few street lights in the area which makes for amazing stargazing. The only source of water is from a temperate stream that runs along the back side of the property for those campers who are comfortable boiling or treating their water.
The property is 5.3 acres total, part of it is open former pasture land and over 1/2 of the property is forest. There is a wooden hill top area that is great for tent campers. The back side of the property is steep in some places, but it can be fun for those who want to hike and explore the mountainside.

This property is our favorite place to camp in North Carolina. The hosts, Linda and John are the kindest and most helpful people we’ve encountered while camping and the property is gorgeous. We took our two dogs in our 43 foot Class A motorhome and had plenty of room for our tow car and our RV. The sites are maintained to perfection and the sites are so flat that our jacks only had to make minor adjustments for our RV to be level. The property has several trails so we always love exploring while we’re there. We love the mountain views from every direction and the sunrises are breathtaking on top of the mountain. It’s the perfect place to have a peaceful getaway.

Very unique and private campsite that sits on a well maintained area perfect for rv and tent camping alike. The site has a boondocking feel to it with full hookup luxuries. You get the true feeling of privacy with breathtaking views. A 20 minute hike down a fairly steep path will bring you to a wide running river with places to sit and relax while enjoying nature. Two full hookup sites that can accommodate large and small rigs (50 amp power) with great views and a nice size firepit (firewood included!). Large covered pavilion with picnic tables with bright or dim lighting. A bath house coming soon. Some of the best on-site wifi we have had provided by the hosts. We had a nice, quiet, relaxing rv camping trip at Peak-A-View. My wife and I agree with others in saying we don't want this gem of a campground to get to popular. We also want Steve and Penny to fulfill their dreams of whatever their plans are for this in the future. Thank you Steve and Penny for sharing your beautiful property with us. You will see us again! We had a wonderful stay at Ken and Lyn’s rv spot. They were very welcoming as well as all the neighbors nearby. The location was good for visiting local restaurants, trails and sightseeing. The golf course at Linville Land Harbor was in great shape and we had fun but it was challenging- would love to play it again! We camped in a 26’ travel trailer and we found it best to back up out of the site and then follow the road loop when exiting.

This was our second time enjoying a weekend at Wiseman Ridge. Site #1 is spacious and private with the most wonderful mountain views. We love the peace and quiet, and also Wiseman Ridge's proximity to the Linville Falls Visitor Center and hiking trails. The Linville Falls Winery is just around the corner too!
Eric is a very friendly and responsive host, and we will definitely be back!

This place is truly a little slice of heaven! The property is beautifully manicured with well-maintained trails, and our site was level, private, and peaceful. We loved seeing the deer and relaxing on the swing. There was also a fire pit with complimentary firewood available, which was a thoughtful touch.
The hosts were amazing and welcomed us so warmly- just genuinely great humans. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return!

Our first trip to a 'regular' campground with a large number of sites and amenities. This one is in a wooded setting with lots of trees everywhere. The sites themselves are not very private but the many trees adds to the ambiance making it a better experience. About half the sites around us were not occupied which helped but there is a good amount of separation between the sites. We did not use any of the other amenities since we were exploring the parkway and other sites in the area but were impressed with what was available right in the campground. Road entering the complex was slightly difficult (narrow and rough in areas) but we didn't have any problems entering or leaving.
