For those not accustomed to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, a couple of areas of moderate incline but that does not exceed 8%, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. At the campsites there is a slight incline and some loose gravel. Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

The steep driveway wasn't that bad and led to camping sites that captured the heart of the North Carolina mountains. Great privacy and views and even some woodland creatures to remind you of the camping experience. Full hookups and access to a very, very clean bathhouse/laundry room. Dope people. Quiet but nice and pleasant. No qualms with me staying multiple nights back to back and reserving every night individually. Good tips about farming when I asked and they sold me some nice homemade apple jam from a local neighbor. They have a whole fridge full of homemade meat from their farm! All in all nice. Also the farm is beautiful and the camp spot was truly very nice. Multiple places to put a tent. Super boxed in by trees which helped with cold weather. Camp fire pit. Chairs and a table. Big bad ass pond right there with a love seat. All in all a good stay. Thanks guys!

Loved the view of the mountains from the campsite. Super nice, as there are only 3 other spots and convient to have your sewer connection on site as well. Note to those with cars that have to be put in 4wd, put in 4wd before heading up the hill. The hardest part is in the beginning. Also, pull your rig all the way to the right after you get up the hill and then back into site.

3rd year in a row - amazing property and Janet and Matthew are such gracious hosts! The property is meticulously maintained, great trails and close to Wilkesboro. The night sky is breathtaking. Our favorite spot by far!

Plenty of room for our setup and ability to create our own private courtyard here at site 1!

Weekend Trip to The Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms

We recently stayed at Cheryl’s Farm on Hipcamp and it was a really lovely experience. They had a nice, private campsite with a beautiful pond and some adorable farm animals, which really made it special. There was a cute little farm store with convenient items and some tasty ice cream, which was a nice touch. They also had a bathhouse; though it only had one toilet and one shower, it still did the job. Overall, it was a really cool and enjoyable stay!
