Though we are very secluded in the mountains, Walmart is only 5 mins down the road. Spruce Pine is 10-15 mins and has food, grocery, gas, hospital, and a brewery. Marion is a bigger town with mostly anything you could be looking for and is about 20mins away down the mountain. If you want some city buzz, head to vibrant Asheville under an hour away, where you'll find endless art, restaurants, breweries, live music, and more. Live closer to the earth, the mountains, the curious creatures, and return home with some gratitude!

It's a must-see-for-yourself experience at On the Rocks geodesic dome at 4Creeks Cabin Co. Just steps off the porch, you'll find a massive rock that you can climb on to overlook the creek and forest below, right next to the fire pit where you can enjoy evening chats and s'mores. You won't be disappointed with the view from the dome. Standing in the window with no deck surrounding the dome, our design simulates floating over the forest below at a height of about 14 feet above the forest floor below. Sitting on the deck or at the fire pit area, you can hear the creek babbling. Take a morning or afternoon walk through the woods; you've got 10 acres to explore freely where you'll find creeks and wooded area and so much beautiful fauna and wildlife. If you'd like, the owner can take you on a guided foraging walk where you can learn about some of the local plants and their uses, and maybe even spot some mushrooms depending on the time of year. At night, you may hear our mountain dogs and coyotes howling. You are truly out in nature here at 4Creeks. You are bound to see a deer or fox while you are here. We are only a 10-minute drive from downtown West Jefferson, 7-minute from the grocery store, 3-minutes from the winery and Christmas tree farm, 30-minutes from Boone, about 35-to 40- to our closest ski slope, 30-minutes or less to Tennessee and Virginia, 15-minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway, 40-minutes from the North Wilkesboro Racetrack, and so much more. You may wish to interact with our farm menagerie during your stay. We have supplied a self-service animal feed dispenser by the "barnyard" sign, just beside our tiny house. Feel free to come down between 9AM-8PM to give chickens, geese, ducks, and possibly the goats some treats. NO PETS ALLOWED TO BE WITH YOU WHEN YOU FEED THE ANIMALS, please! Feed is available by donation. Note: Only feed the provided treats, do not feed anything else! Please do not exceed two refills per person! Be aware that animals can bite, kick, scratch, bonk, and poo. You are your own responsibility when interacting with the animals! ----CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS---- -Drive up to our farm gate and TAKE THE GUEST FOLDER from the box, clearly marked. Don't mind the barking of our big white livestock guardian dogs from within the nearby pastures, they are just doing their job. Open the gate and CLOSE IT behind you, please :) -Follow driveway up to the top of the hill. Please do not allow any pets out of your vehicle down at our farmyard. Be careful as you pass through this area as we do have children and livestock possibly crossing the road. -Park wherever you feel your vehicle can best manage the sloped driveway. -Open the dome's zipper door and let it air out. Follow the guest folder's instructions for further climate control needs. There will be most of the information you need in the guest folder, as well as in pamphlets and notes around the site. You can also contact us at any time, but the WIFI is sometimes spotty, so it may be necessary to come knock on our door for additional inquiries. (Don't be shy!
