We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve.
It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers.
The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present.
In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards.

Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range. Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream. The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway. There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils. There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well.
Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful. The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night. As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.
Nearby Attractions:
The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available. In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night.
Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails.
Other nearby outdoor attractions include: Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock.

This is a 1920's cottage that we moved and restored. The building site is an old Charchoal mound that was in use in the 1700's so there is a lot of history between the building and site where it sits. It's a beautiful spot right on the water, tranquil and full of wild life' we I built this cabin for the quiet enjoyment of our natural world. This is a place to unwind and reconnect. We have just added a 10*12 platform with a large cover for rainy days, the platform has a gas fireplace for cold days.

Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock.
The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you!
Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool.

500 million years ago during the Devonian Period this was a sea, so we live in shale based mountains with lots of fossils! The Heldebergs are one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, these mountains have been worn down to 2000 feet over time.
Native Americans lived in the area many years ago and we are quite sure this was Native American sacred ceremony land.
Hiking, canoeing, swimming and fishing (catch & release only) are available on site.
There are many places to hike in the area, an Eagle Trail
and in winter, 2 miles away, is a Nature Preserve that rents snowshoes and has
trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing,

We do have 3 very friendly dogs that will want to be your best friends. Also farm animals that you can meet.
There will be farm noises, roosters greeting the morning and various grunts and snorts... far less noise than any modern city.

The Little Witch Cottage is a rustic charming cottage from 1929 with timber framing and Catskill blue stone flooring. It sits in the middle of our yard about 200 feet from our more modern home. We have about 9 acres set back from the road. The cottage has a queen sized bed, dining table, and small kitchenette.
The kitchenette has a mini fridge, dishes, toaster oven, french press for coffee and an induction stove top. There is basic cooking supplies such as pots and pans.
We wired this vintage beauty to run on solar power and has an outhouse with a composting toilet, sink, and heated outdoor shower.

Simply incredible! From the moment you turn into Grateful Acres you will feel relaxed and comfortable. The cabins are super clean and thoughtfully stocked with often overlooked essentials (fire poker, games, solar string lights, etc.). Stephanie is very responsive and her son Noah, who I had the pleasure of meeting in person is super chill and welcoming. This Hipcamp embodies the Dead vibes, as advertised! The corn hole setup was perfect, and our pups really loved the basket of doggy toys! The portapotty and compost outhouse were super clean and well stocked as well. We came up for a night to fish and swim at the reservoir, but didn't end up leaving the campsite because we were having so much fun! We can't wait to come back again later this summer. I thought it was very appropriate to celebrate my 40th in a witch’s cottage and my instinct was spot on. This place was exactly what I had envisioned for the weekend.
The property is very special, it was a perfect place to sip on a slow contemplative cup of tea while admiring the surrounding garden and woods and taking in all the sounds of nature.
Caitlin and Andre are excellent hosts, they were very friendly and accessible. Andre gave my friend’s toddler a full tour of the gardens. He was delighted by the truck and sampling strawberries.
It was perfect, we hope to return to witch cottage soon. Thanks so much for hosting us!

Wildflower cabin was the most beautiful setting for a peaceful romantic summer weekend. The cabin was spotless, well maintained and welcoming. The bed was super comfy and especially loved the mosquito net even though bugs were never an issue. The trail to the waterfall was exhilarating and well worth the effort to experience the most beautiful falls and swimming hole. I loved camping on Bonnie's land. The Runamuck cabin that I stayed in was absolutely gorgeous.
