Founded in 1798 by Josiah Brewer, the farm has served as a grist mill, chicken farm, cheese factory. We offer several types of site selection for your comfort. Each campsite has a fire pit for your use.Restroom is available just inside the house if needed, and potable water is available via pump or hose outside the house or at the barn. We have a couple of dogs on sight, and we like to visit with folks - let us know if you want to socialize or not and we'll respect that. Your dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed. Chickens like to run away, and dogs like to chase them. If you are traveling with horses, please contact us! We also have 3 adult Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 baby goats, the sweetest miniature donkey you'll ever meet, named "Walther," and a shy mini horse named "Harry Houdini!" :) All of our animals have free-range of our property during the day, but are penned up at night to keep them safe. *** IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We strongly recommend bringing ear buds/plugs to block out the barking of our LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) through the night. They're just doing their job, but if you're not used to it, you may not sleep very well, so please bring ear buds or plugs! They absolutely love people, so they may get curious and try to come hang out with you in your tent! Because of this, we can provide you with a spray water bottle to keep them away from your tent. It's an unharmful way to keep them at bay, so please let us know if you'd like to have it on hand during your stay. Additionally, we strongly recommend bringing boots for walking around on the farm, as well as clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Especially in rainy weather, the grounds can get very muddy, and beware of animals who sometimes jump when greeting guests! Please do not hesitate to scold any of the animals should they jump on you! They are sometimes overly friendly and need to be reminded to mind their manners! *** Come pitch your tent (or rent one of ours, subject to availability!) on the grass or on the wooden deck near the edge of our pond, or walk our beautiful 19 grassy and wooded acres to find your favorite spot to set up camp. I highly recommend visiting Lisa and Ed, genuinely good people who take great care to ensure that you'll be comfortable and have what you need to optimize your stay. They are extremely knowledgeable about pretty much anything to do with farm living, and the horses receive amazing care.Lisa and Ed can't hide how much they love them. As far as which site to pick I walked the entire grounds and whichever site you choose is a winner, comes down to personal preference. There's no place else that can match this experience. Lisa and Ed are very responsive and have suggestions on local things to do .The reviews, all positive are a bit like pictures, they can't tell the whole story. Get here yourself and enjoy this peaceful, serene beautiful place and have this unique experience, you'll be glad you did. Don't forget all of the other things you can do to add to your experience that Lisa lists. This would be an unforgettable experience for a family with young kids. Bring a camera! Aside from the residents, the fields are visited by deer, and there are foxes, birds. There's a cabin, 2 trundle beds,folding room divider, windows all around, small sitting area with an awning in back looking into the forest .Lisa and Ed are kind, considerate and caring hosts. * Ask about buying some amazing Maple Syrup made using Ed's grandfather's recipe. I loved camping on Robert’s land! It was scenic and beautiful with sunrises, sunsets and a sky full of stars. The site was just as described with water, the nicest outhouse and an easy road for our camper van. There were lots of great little touches like a light by the outhouse and the site was mowed. Robert provided easy directions and was very communicative. The whole experience was super easy and I would highly recommend staying here!

We had a delightful stay at campsite number two. While originally booked in campsite number one, Christine and her husband asked us if we would be interested in moving to site 2 and we are glad we did. It was a 24 square foot tent with a couch, all kitchen essentials, a fridge, lots of bedding, a trashcan, flashlights and a heater. Only thing that we were required to bring with the clothes and shoes. Everything else was either present or available to buy from the camp store. The store was filled with food items, ice creams, drinks bathrobe, spa packets, basically everything you would need on this getaway. Plus, they provide breakfast in the morning on the days of your stay, which is very filling and elaborate. In fact it was one of the highlights of our day to be having breakfast amidst such nice lush views. The stay also comes with a complementary night of using hot bathtubs, which is just a few steps away from the camp and is highly recommended. The walk behind the campsite into the forest is beautiful especially this time of the year as we could spot a lot of fall colors and leaves. In the morning, the camp is filled with chirps of the birds. The only hiccup during our stay was the incessant rain during night time and then some until the next afternoon. So next time we would take the rain insurance, but host fixed us with heater fuel amidst the heavy rain. It was really helpful. We enjoyed dinner just 20 min drive away in the town of town named Cooperstown.
