You can pitch a tent of your own, or borrow one of ours here by the house, or further out by the creek. Each campsite has a fire pit for your use.Restroom is available just inside the house if needed, and potable water is available via pump or hose outside the house or at the barn. We have a couple of dogs on sight, and we like to visit with folks - let us know if you want to socialize or not and we'll respect that. Your dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed. Chickens like to run away, and dogs like to chase them. If you are traveling with horses, please contact us! We also have 3 adult Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 baby goats, the sweetest miniature donkey you'll ever meet, named "Walther," and a shy mini horse named "Harry Houdini!" :) All of our animals have free-range of our property during the day, but are penned up at night to keep them safe. *** IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We strongly recommend bringing ear buds/plugs to block out the barking of our LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) through the night. They're just doing their job, but if you're not used to it, you may not sleep very well, so please bring ear buds or plugs! They absolutely love people, so they may get curious and try to come hang out with you in your tent! Because of this, we can provide you with a spray water bottle to keep them away from your tent. It's an unharmful way to keep them at bay, so please let us know if you'd like to have it on hand during your stay. Additionally, we strongly recommend bringing boots for walking around on the farm, as well as clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Especially in rainy weather, the grounds can get very muddy, and beware of animals who sometimes jump when greeting guests! Please do not hesitate to scold any of the animals should they jump on you! They are sometimes overly friendly and need to be reminded to mind their manners! *** Come pitch your tent (or rent one of ours, subject to availability!) on the grass or on the wooden deck near the edge of our pond, or walk our beautiful 19 grassy and wooded acres to find your favorite spot to set up camp. With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history. Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Learn more about this land: A raw, pine forest lining the bedrock banks of Port Leyden's Fowlerville Falls, just inside of the Adirondack park. The former site of one of Georgia Pacific's old logging mills, the property has private access to beautiful water falls, a large swimming hole just off of a large, South-facing rock bank, untamed, clean pine forests, ATV and hiking trails, trout & small mouth bass fishing, many fire pits and areas to camp throughout the property.

There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. I am Karl and with my wife Danielle together we own 15 acres of peacefully settled forest on the edge of over 10,000 acres of State Forest land. It is on a seasonal road. I have no registered address, but a small sign marks my access road as Jacob Lane. This is a tribute to my friends. The Amish that helped me build our off-grid cabin. It is very quiet here, but we are an active homestead and work starts at 9am every day, we do our best to be considerate and ask the same from you. The forest rangers and DEC officers that patrol here keep a tight rein on the forest and its preservation. We have one guest cabin and several places a tent or RV can park. There are no hookups. Please bring some potable water. We do have spring water available but it's a drive. I first came here about 15 years ago. I would like to try and see if others would enjoy what we have made our lives. I do like to talk and although I don't lie, stretching the truth is an artform I have perfected so be prepared. There is a state-run beach and picnic area about 3 minute drive away on the Hinkley Reservoir. And a few other bodies of water to kayak and fish. We have Kayaks for use at an extra cost. We are about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You can bike, hike, nature watch or just enjoy the peacefulness of the tree you chose to sit against. Down and ready firewood is everywhere if you want to bend over and pick it up. You can possess firearms on the property, but you may not discharge one without prior approval unless it's to save your life or that of another. There are places not far away that you can legally shoot and enjoy yourself. There are traditional outhouses on the property and for those that know how cat holing is allowed. Ask if unsure. No dumping tanks or portable toilets anywhere and that includes the outhouses. The state of New York has facilities at campgrounds that do a proper job with that type of waste. I highly recommend visiting Lisa and Ed, genuinely good people who take great care to ensure that you'll be comfortable and have what you need to optimize your stay. They are extremely knowledgeable about pretty much anything to do with farm living, and the horses receive amazing care.Lisa and Ed can't hide how much they love them. As far as which site to pick I walked the entire grounds and whichever site you choose is a winner, comes down to personal preference. There's no place else that can match this experience. Lisa and Ed are very responsive and have suggestions on local things to do .The reviews, all positive are a bit like pictures, they can't tell the whole story. Get here yourself and enjoy this peaceful, serene beautiful place and have this unique experience, you'll be glad you did. Don't forget all of the other things you can do to add to your experience that Lisa lists. This would be an unforgettable experience for a family with young kids. Bring a camera! Aside from the residents, the fields are visited by deer, and there are foxes, birds. There's a cabin, 2 trundle beds,folding room divider, windows all around, small sitting area with an awning in back looking into the forest .Lisa and Ed are kind, considerate and caring hosts. * Ask about buying some amazing Maple Syrup made using Ed's grandfather's recipe. You can't buy anything like it anywhere else! Thank you Lisa and Ed for your kindness and hospitality. Enjoyed my stay, hope to be back. Peace.

Great stay on a really cool piece of property. My boyfriend and I stayed a short night and we wished we stayed longer - next time! Ben is awesome and showed us around his place, such a cool spot, and close to so many beautiful nature spots as well. We're putting it on our bucket list to come back again and stay longer! I loved camping on Robert’s land! It was scenic and beautiful with sunrises, sunsets and a sky full of stars. The site was just as described with water, the nicest outhouse and an easy road for our camper van. There were lots of great little touches like a light by the outhouse and the site was mowed. Robert provided easy directions and was very communicative. The whole experience was super easy and I would highly recommend staying here!

We had a delightful stay at campsite number two. While originally booked in campsite number one, Christine and her husband asked us if we would be interested in moving to site 2 and we are glad we did. It was a 24 square foot tent with a couch, all kitchen essentials, a fridge, lots of bedding, a trashcan, flashlights and a heater. Only thing that we were required to bring with the clothes and shoes. Everything else was either present or available to buy from the camp store. The store was filled with food items, ice creams, drinks bathrobe, spa packets, basically everything you would need on this getaway. Plus, they provide breakfast in the morning on the days of your stay, which is very filling and elaborate. In fact it was one of the highlights of our day to be having breakfast amidst such nice lush views. The stay also comes with a complementary night of using hot bathtubs, which is just a few steps away from the camp and is highly recommended. The walk behind the campsite into the forest is beautiful especially this time of the year as we could spot a lot of fall colors and leaves. In the morning, the camp is filled with chirps of the birds. The only hiccup during our stay was the incessant rain during night time and then some until the next afternoon. So next time we would take the rain insurance, but host fixed us with heater fuel amidst the heavy rain. It was really helpful. We enjoyed dinner just 20 min drive away in the town of town named Cooperstown.

It was absolutely beautiful. The view was incredible. We could see for miles. We didn't camp but just enjoyed the evening. We built a campfire and cooked and made s'mores, but be warned, bring extra kindling. It's crazy windy. I can't say enough good things. The free bread was an amazing bonus. We can't wait to go back

This spot is AMAZING!! Super quiet, private, and just a great setup. We are boondockers so we didn't need anything. A very clean outhouse was a bonus. Great fire pit with benches and a picnic table. Trails all around. We explored the trails to the river, with the drought, it was very low. Very nice trails. A very nice walk down the very quiet road to the Moose River. A beautiful spot to explore. One thing, as usual, Google maps is off on the directions. Follow Stacey's directions and look for the gate. We will definitely be back.

This is an amazing camp site. Such a beautiful location. Felt very private. The atv trails on the property made for a nice hike. Great amenities. We had the pleasure of having a cute porcupine waddle right through the middle of our camp one night. Communication with the owner was great, extremely quick response. Highly recommend. We are already hoping to come back someday.

Everything was great, the property was well maintained. The facilities were nice for what it was. We had a wonderful time, the property is very private and quiet most of the time except when there is a caravan of ATVs going by, which is to be expected for the area. The location is fantastic its private , but not too far from anything you might need. It was very nice to be able to let our dogs run free on the property and with plenty of trails there for them to run through.
