You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. Compass Rose Campground is 49 acres of camping fun. You can choose to go deep into the woods for a maximum camping experience or stay closer to the modern amenities. A full kitchen is available as well as bathrooms with showers. No potable water is available. The pond was created and stocked in 2022. Bring your fishing poles and rafts!! Kayaks are available for campers also. There are many, many trails available for hiking including an enchanted fairy trail. Train lovers will especially welcome the distant sounds of the iron horse passing by. Weekend Trip to Firefly Acres - Star Gazing Views

The cabin was nice. It had good heating, a nice bed, a nice bathroom, and it had lots of forms of entertainment. The cabin also had wifi and a flat screen tv you could stream on. The host was also very good with helping us if we were confused on anything. I definitely plan on staying here again.

What an amazing hipcamp experience!! My partner and I, along with our two dogs absolutely loved staying in the cabin. Brian was an incredible host, so responsive and helpful with any questions we had. I have never seen a space so well thought out, it had everything we needed and a perfect space to relax and unwind after a long day of driving. Would love to stay again next time we’re in the area.

An absolute gem of a site. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Was already warmed up for us upon arrival on a snowy evening and held heat well throughout our weekend. Ben gave us a great hiking recommendation that we took advantage of and it was just what we were looking for. Enjoyed our evenings by the campfire and morning coffee on the steps by the river. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. We are already planning our next trip out here!

My partner and I loved this cute cabin , right next to Lake Erie! It’s a great size, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed for the start of our cross country trip back home , including a buddy heater for the cold night. Thank you so much for the extra blankets too! We were perfectly snug. We wish we could have spent another night. We got gluten free pizza at Villaggio Italiano, which is right down the road — it was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

Easy check in. Beautiful property. I highly recommend this glamping experience to anyone. My friend and I split the Waggin Tails covered wagon and were blown away at how roomy and comfortable it was. The wood and easy start kindling that's provided was a lovely bonus. The coffee shop uses the most delicious beans. I made sure I bought a bag to bring home so my husband could taste them. I enjoyed myself so much that I bought a gift card as a Christmas gift for a family member so they can come experience this campground with their family.

HIGHLY recommend! Great location, not far from civilization but far enough away to get a BREAK! The Nest is a cute/comfy little cabin with everything you need! Even a crockpot which was great to have dinner cooking while we were out fishing! My favorite part of the location was there is no service or WiFi, you truly get to unplug and get away from the devices that take over our lives on a daily basis. Plenty of movies to wind down the night with. Ben and Ginny are great hosts, Ginny walked us through and told us everything we needed to know. The bedroom has air which was very helpful on the hot nights and kept the entire cabin cool. We were warned about a pesky little bird but didn’t have any issues nor did we have many concerns because we did put ourselves in the middle of the forest with the expectation we might encounter some animal friends!! We will 100% be back to the Nest! Hopefully a couple different times in the next year!

Our little family stayed in one of the tents this past weekend and upon our arrival we found a spacious tent with all the amenities for an outside gathering, outdoor cooking, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a separate game room. We were so impressed with the cleanliness, aesthetics, and personal touches that were left by the owners. Some shout outs: * We were given a separate heated bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and a personalized touch of our family name on a sign outside the door * A gathering area or hang out after hours with a fire cauldron * A coffee shop with specious coffee and chai lattes and reasonably priced breakfast options * Pickleball for our kids * Very kind and gracious hosts We will absolutely be back and recommend this as a place to visit to our friends and family!
