This is a secluded private island on the Allegheny River. It has been a family property for years and many people have created great memories here. It is great for solo campers wanting a peaceful space, kayakers on river trips, family groups (magic for kids and dogs!)

Rustic Run is a secluded cabin located on private land surrounded by timber lands and the Allegheny National Forest.
Access to hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing fishing, hunting, geocaching, wildlife viewing, ATV and snowmobile trails are all within a short drive. A handful of golfing options are available within a 30-minute radius or less.
The bridge on the property crosses over the creek and provides access to the area timber lands and Allegheny National Forest. There is a cooperative agreement between the timber lands and ANF which allows for non-motorized, public use. Off trail-hiking is plentiful all around the cabin.
Chapman State Park is about a 10 minute drive.
Kinzua Dam; Jake's Rocks are 20-25 minute drive.

Winter Months Require 4WD vehicles to access cabin. Although, the road is well maintained Pennsylvania winters can create unexpected conditions. Road and driveway are icy during winter and early spring.

5/5 stars. If I had one word to describe it would be cozy. Ben is a great host. The cabin has nice privacy and it has everything you need utility wise. You are tucked away against a large creek if you like water activities. Nearby hiking trails. Check out the butcher shop in Sheffield if you like to grill!

An absolute gem of a site. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Was already warmed up for us upon arrival on a snowy evening and held heat well throughout our weekend. Ben gave us a great hiking recommendation that we took advantage of and it was just what we were looking for. Enjoyed our evenings by the campfire and morning coffee on the steps by the river. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. We are already planning our next trip out here!

We loved that this cabin was both small/rustic/affordable and still outfitted with all the big amenities. The heat, bathroom, TV, and cooking appliances were all fantastic, the outdoor area was spacious and the view down the creek from it lined up perfectly with the sunset! Had a great weekend exploring ANF from here, thanks!

HIGHLY recommend! Great location, not far from civilization but far enough away to get a BREAK! The Nest is a cute/comfy little cabin with everything you need! Even a crockpot which was great to have dinner cooking while we were out fishing! My favorite part of the location was there is no service or WiFi, you truly get to unplug and get away from the devices that take over our lives on a daily basis. Plenty of movies to wind down the night with. Ben and Ginny are great hosts, Ginny walked us through and told us everything we needed to know. The bedroom has air which was very helpful on the hot nights and kept the entire cabin cool. We were warned about a pesky little bird but didn’t have any issues nor did we have many concerns because we did put ourselves in the middle of the forest with the expectation we might encounter some animal friends!! We will 100% be back to the Nest! Hopefully a couple different times in the next year!

Ben, and his mom Jeannie, were great hosts. The only negative is that I didnt stay longer. They really made it feel like home. Ben had a little book of the history of the property and recommendations for the area. I ventured to Kinzua Bridge State Park and Hector Falls, but nights by the fire and creekside were perfect too. Hope I can make it back next year

This was our second time staying at Ben's and it was perfect. The river was low so we were able to walk and cross without issue. Water was perfect temp to cool down and just relax. We found the stash of seasoned kindling this time so it was much easier to start a fire with the mountain of firewood provided. Spent our days exploring and popped in one of the many DVDs before bed. Location is great. Can't wait to go back.

Ben is an awesome host. His camp is absolutely breathtaking. There's no cell service at the cabin. Ben provides a handmade book with fun facts about the camp and excellent directions. If you plan on entering the water bring proper footwear.

Weekend Trip to The Nest - Creekfront Cabin In ANF
This was the best weekend get away we have taken. The Nest exceeded our expectations! I largely picked this spot for it's off leash policy and it did not disappoint our dogs. They were some happy campers to say the least! We had perfect weather and didn't need to use the AC or the heat. It was great being right next to the creek, I would HIGHLY suggest some water shoes if you plan on walking around it in, the rocks are brutal. The water was too low to kayak but still enjoyable nonetheless.
There is plenty to do around, Hector Falls was a nice hike and we stopped at Alleghany Cellars Winery on the way back. We tried Blue Jay Inn, great burgers! We went to an overlook, and stopped at Cooks Forrest on our way back home. We were never bored.
There was an extensive DVD collection, and we also connected the Switch and played that. The grill and fire pit were used everyday
I would highly recommend this play to anyone who loves being in the Forest would prefers the comforts of indoor plumbing and running water! If we find ourselves back this way, I already know where we are staying. Thank you Ben and family!

What a fantastic stay! Cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The river and swimming hole aren't to be missed. We could not get our dogs out she was having so much fun.
Great fishing spot and close to Blue Jay Inn which has amazing wings.
Ben was great host as well as his mom and daughter.
We would not hesitate to comeback and already looking for an excuse to do so!

Ben's Nest was the perfect Creek side retreat for our family of 5. It has just enough ammenities for us (outdoorsy, but not exceedingly so!) but still has a rustic feel. It's so peaceful there, we really enjoyed sitting on the swing listening to the creek. Would definitley recommend and we will be back!
