Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted.
We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. We also adjoin 6600 acres of NY state forest which is public property. Exploring all that is here would take a very long time! Want to get away? Welcome to our little slice of heaven.

The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. The kids and I set up a swing set, and a spot by the creek to play and splash. Now, New York is a 420 friendly state. Enjoy yourself but please be respectful of others

There are several campsites as well as a cozy bed in a cabin that you can stay in. The property used to be an orchard, until most was sold and converted to housing developments. My one acre and a few old cherry trees remains.
Both the camping areas and the cabin are in sight of my house. But, there are plenty of areas to choose from. I can supply a fire ring and logs to burn if you are interested. Dogs allowed, as long as they get along with and don’t chase other animals. You must be animal friendly! I have a dog, two indoor/outdoor cats, and chickens.

We encourage you to walk and experience a true "backwoods" experience, but we will drive you down in our Utility Vehicle if needed.
A ping pong table is available in the barn/workshop if people would like to play. We also have pollinator and vegetable gardens and chickens, and we produce maple syrup in the spring. If guests are interested in workshops on carpentry, food preservation, foraging, gardening, bread baking, and kombucha-brewing, they should let us know a WEEK in ADVANCE. We also offer spiritual direction and Enneagram exploration/typing conversations. The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. The kids and I set up a swing set, and a spot by the creek to play and splash. Now, New York is a 420 friendly state. Enjoy yourself but please be respectful of others

There are several campsites as well as a cozy bed in a cabin that you can stay in. The property used to be an orchard, until most was sold and converted to housing developments. My one acre and a few old cherry trees remains.
Both the camping areas and the cabin are in sight of my house. But, there are plenty of areas to choose from. I can supply a fire ring and logs to burn if you are interested. Dogs allowed, as long as they get along with and don’t chase other animals. You must be animal friendly! I have a dog, two indoor/outdoor cats, and chickens.

We encourage you to walk and experience a true "backwoods" experience, but we will drive you down in our Utility Vehicle if needed.
A ping pong table is available in the barn/workshop if people would like to play. We also have pollinator and vegetable gardens and chickens, and we produce maple syrup in the spring. If guests are interested in workshops on carpentry, food preservation, foraging, gardening, bread baking, and kombucha-brewing, they should let us know a WEEK in ADVANCE. We also offer spiritual direction and Enneagram exploration/typing conversations. Beautiful property and so convenient to not have to put up my own tent. The tent is wonderful equipped with a wood burning stove. I camped on a reeeealllly cold & windy night so it was nice to have my Mr. Buddy heater to supplement in the middle of the night when I didn’t feel like tending to the fire. I didn’t have time to explore the other paths and I’m so bummed because it looked like an amazing place to frolick! If you are a star gazer, this is your place! The hosts were so amazing and very accommodating. I appreciated the fire!

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
The site is tucked back in hidden from everything but a field. The tent is great and the wood stove worked wonderfully once we remembered how vents work. The bed was quite comfortable but pick your side wisely if you are over 6 ft.
The outhouse seems brand new and the short trails around the property are a nice morning walk.
We were comfortably warm in the 30s, except for when I let the fire go out. Will definitely be stopping by again when it warms back up.

The only “set back” is that once you’re on the property, the grass road to get to the site is a bit narrow so some of the branches from the growth to the sides of us scratched our cars a bit. Outside of that, it was just what we needed to get a way for a little bit. Great view of the stars on a clear night if you walk a little up from the site to the small open area.

This spot is a hidden gem — peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained. The site has small walking trails that are great for a quiet morning stroll or an evening walk to unwind. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the setup of the site to the little touches that make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
It’s also conveniently located — only about 10 minutes from town, with easy access to gas stations, Walmart, and McDonald’s if you need to grab anything. You get the best of both worlds here: the calm and privacy of nature with the convenience of nearby amenities.
We had a wonderful stay and left feeling refreshed. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy a bit of nature without being too far from town!

We enjoyed our time at this campsite! It felt really private and we didn't see another human being on foot or driving by the site at all which was a big bonus. We really liked having the sturdy camp furniture to use and it was really nice to have the wood provided for us! When I did have a question the host was very responsive.
