IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! THE SPACE The bell tent has a comfortable queen bed with fresh linens, pillows and comforter. Basket inside has additional pillows and blankets. As a high desert, water is a precious resource. We've built a custom outdoor solar-heated shower with both hot and cold water that is extremely efficient. The water-system is filled daily and holds approximately six gallons (hot). There is a water-saving shower head with an on/off mechanism. "Navy showers" are a must: turn on to get wet, turn off to lather up and then rinse off. With this method, more than one person can shower. To take advantage of the solar gain, best used in the afternoon or evening. We offer soap, shampoo, conditioner and towels. There is a nice bench, lots of hooks to hang your towels/clothes, and a shower caddy. The area is private and secluded with solar lighting for nighttime use. There is a separate sink (cold water only) and private enclosed toilet facility next to the shower area. Guidebook in tent listing restaurants, bars, tap houses within 10 minutes drive and without need to go into Santa Fe. You have access to miles of walkable dirt roads right from the door, and there are trails to BLM land nearby. 10 minute drive from access to the Rio Grande Gorge, and an easy 25 minute drive into Taos Ski Valley for snow fun and hiking. 15 min north of downtown Taos. The cabin is divided into two sides. One side is a bedroom/bathroom suite with a comfortable queen size bed and a bathroom (with an awesome standing shower). On the other side, separated by an exterior door, you'll find a cozy space for dining and relaxing, a couch (with a small fold-out mattress), and a kitchenette. This means you move from the living room/kitchenette to the bedroom/bathroom by walking outside under the covered patio. While it's a bit unusual, we really enjoy it, and so do 99% of our guests. If you like being outdoors, and enjoy having separate areas for sleeping vs hanging out and cooking, you'll enjoy it too. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, a large double sink, an electric cooktop, varied coffee supplies, and all the essential cooking amenities. No need to run to the store just for basics like salt, pepper, or oil. Plus some less basic items, like a variety of Trader Joes spices + emergency snacks. The Blackstone outdoor griddle is a versatile cooking amenity, where you can make a full breakfast spread, delicious fajitas, and really anything in between. This is a somewhat remote high desert area, with all that entails. There are birds, bugs, and lots of other wildlife around. You may hear coyotes singing late at night or early in the morning. The last 1.5 miles of the drive are on a maintained dirt road. You don't need 4WD or a lifted vehicle to get here, although you may need it for other areas of Taos. The guest cabin shares the 10 acres with the main house, where we live. If we're out of town, other guests may be staying in the main house. The cabin and house are well separated by both a large garage and latilla privacy fences. The cabin is dog friendly, as we have two of our own and know the challenges of traveling with dogs.

Great little house with all of the basic amenities someone looking for a place not too rustic would love. Harvey was extremely friendly, and gave us any and all of the privacy we could want. The dirt roads are pretty bumpy, so if you come in a standard height car take it slow.

We loved this intentional and creative spot! The treehouse is roomy and all the beds were comfortable- my kids loved the hanging bunks. It was a fun change from all the tent camping we were doing on our road trip through New Mexico and we appreciated the bathhouse and kitchen spaces. It’s a beautiful and serene area and Ciana was wonderfully welcoming and helpful with getting us settled in. We definitely recommended the treehouse!

2 nights at Camp Across From Pecos River

The area is absolutely beautiful!! And Duc was amazing and accommodating! We felt welcomed and taken care of. Our cabin was lovely, and the area of the river we could walk to was absolutely stunning! And our boys loved feeding the animals and even got to help collect eggs. We couldn’t have had a better time!! Would love to come back and spend more time!

1 night at Taos Goji Farm & Eco Lodge

Grateful that they had keypads for locks so we didn't feel badly for arriving at night. Nice cabin. Loved hearing the rooster in the morning. Bed was comfortable and the area was beautiful.

Very nicely appointed tiny house. Great location. Best part was proximity to Rio Grande Gorge for wading, hot springs, stargazing in total darkness.

Weekend Trip to Taos Goji Farm & Eco Lodge

Beautiful property, very quiet and peaceful. The tipi was a wonderful experience to disconnect. I stayed here at the tail end of my week camping road trip, so having a nice cozy, comfy place to sleep with access to a hot shower was heaven.

Weekend Trip to Camp Across From Pecos River

Nice, quiet site. Very comfortable accommodations with everything we needed for our stay. We were able to walk to the river as well as the trails up by Cowles Pond. We also enjoyed hiking the Cave Creek trail which was just a few minutes up the road. Duc was a great host and taught us how to build the best campfire of our lives.

Weekend Trip to Santa Fe Treehouse Camp & Wilderness Preserve

This is a really nice place to camp, the bathroom and communal kitchen made everything super easy (although it does get crowded at busy times). The land is beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in one of the Tecolote cabins and it was fun but be prepared. You are essentially sleeping outside so plan accordingly. We would definitely come here again
