Really good camp accommodations! Loved the simple cabins, comfy beds, beautiful mountaintop walks, nice, hot showers, clean bathrooms, and loved the full kitchen w 2 stoves, 2 frigs, 2 of everything, outdoor dining areas, plenty of room and quiet nights. I’m definitely returning w company! Loved it… and, more things: not too far from Santa Fe, and not expensive…😍

This camp is INCREDIBLE! We stayed in one of the Pegasus Treehouses and it was such a fun experience. The outdoor kitchen setup was such a great community spot and we met some really cool people. Very quiet, very clean, and the most unique camping experience we’ve had! Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a treehouse?! 🤩

Everything was PERFECT. From the river to the animals to the attention to play, freedom, relaxation and peaceful setting. This place has it ALL! Payment and reservation was stupid easy to set up. Weekend Trip to Casa de KAMA (The Silo)

This was such a cool and unique stay! It was such a perfect place to reconnect to the land and getaway from the city. My boyfriend and I stayed here and it was such a great place to watch the sunset, take in the views of the land, cook dinner together, and explore what Abiquiu has to offer. This Silo was not only really cool but it also came with everything you needed to make this trip memorable. I would definitely come here again!

This tiny home is perfect and Harvey is the best host. Well thought out space that is isolated enough but close to all there is to do. Highly recommend this place if you get a chance to stay here.

Ciana's and Brad's place is in a great location, very beautiful, with great amenities. I do not like being prompted 4 or 5 times to leave a review so this is forced to get the app to stop messaging me. The hosts were gracious, the place was quiet and beautiful. The only thing I would say is the cabin was little more than a shack, no power, no cooking there, and a bit creepy at night. I think it was a bit overpriced. That's my only complaint and it's not really a complaint.

I can't say enough good things about the Santa Fe Treehouse camp and Ciana and Brad's hospitality! Surrounded by beauty, the site is well-kept with loving details added throughout. The Sunrise cabin is spacious and comfortable, the shared bathhouse and communal kitchen are well-equipped and campers and staff take good care of both. Best of all is the community this camp attracts and Ciana and Brad themselves. My kiddo and I can't wait to come back!

2 nights at Mystical & Enchanted Desert Escape

This place was pure magic! We were greeted at that gate( locked and very safe) and given a quick tour of the property . The views are outstanding everywhere you look, literally everywhere! We had a site which allowed us to sleep in our conversion van. To simply say this place was clean is an understatement. Bathrooms were actually spotless. Everything about our stay was perfect! The kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials, showers were so, so beautiful, hot tub with a view and easy check in! From the campground was an incredible hike that took you down into the stunning views from the top. This stay was an experience!! My only regret was only staying 2 days! Definitely a reminder of why New Mexico is the land of enchantment- we left enchanted and longing for more! We can’t wait to come back!!!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at the treehouse. Everything was as described and the views were amazing. To our surprise, the bathrooms, showers, and community kitchen area was spotless! The kitchen has everything we needed and made camping with kids a breeze. This is probably the best camping experience we have ever had. We are new to Hipcamp and will definitely be doing this again!

The land in this part of New Mexico was part of the Madrid (family) Spanish Land Grant. It is the location of the oldest turquoise mines in North and South America. Plus one of the oldest gold mines in North America. The neighboring towns are close by and quite famous and filled with things to do. History abounds here and I am happy to tell the tales! There are several restaurants to find a great meal and musical entertainment. Believe it or not, there is a lot of talent in them thar hills! Hiking, biking and horseback riding are available in the Cerrillos Hills Park just a mile away. There's even a nice arroyo trail to take you to the Galisteo River riparian area just feet from the hogan door. We even have a horse barn, round pen and a couple acres of fenced desert. We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. Our 12.5 acres residential lot sits at 6970 feet elevation and abuts a 4000 acres wilderness preserve. It is located 20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe and is near numerous hiking/mountain biking trails in Galisteo Basin Preserve and others. Great views of the Ortiz, Sandia and Manzano Mtns. THE SPACE The bell tent has a comfortable queen bed with fresh linens, pillows and comforter. Basket inside has additional pillows and blankets. As a high desert, water is a precious resource. We've built a custom outdoor solar-heated shower with both hot and cold water that is extremely efficient. The water-system is filled daily and holds approximately six gallons (hot). There is a water-saving shower head with an on/off mechanism. "Navy showers" are a must: turn on to get wet, turn off to lather up and then rinse off. With this method, more than one person can shower. To take advantage of the solar gain, best used in the afternoon or evening. We offer soap, shampoo, conditioner and towels. There is a nice bench, lots of hooks to hang your towels/clothes, and a shower caddy. The area is private and secluded with solar lighting for nighttime use. There is a separate sink (cold water only) and private enclosed toilet facility next to the shower area. Guidebook in tent listing restaurants, bars, tap houses within 10 minutes drive and without need to go into Santa Fe. We are doing several small permaculture projects sprinkled throughout the land. There is a chance you could run into us building or planting something on the far side of the 15-acre property, but we like to give our guests privacy, peace, and quiet (how we would want to be treated ☺️). The unpaved road to the campsite is 3 miles and filled with stones, hence our street name, Stoney Road. We highly recommend a vehicle with clearance as there are some rocks on the road that are "oil pan busters." There are no street lights on the dirt road; we recommend arriving at the site during the day. After rainfall and during the monsoon season (May-September), the road can be very muddy. We don’t want you getting stuck. Let’s be honest here: high clearance and or 4x4 on your vehicle is recommended. There is a communal composting outhouse as your bathroom during your stay. We have an open air seasonal hot outdoor shower. (mid June-mid October) The greywater from your bathing feeds the plants. No toxic soaps please! We remind you that this is a rural off-grid campsite: there is no electricity. There is no tent. We have created this space for you to connect with your loved ones and enjoy being outside. The closest restaurants are in Cerrillos and Madrid, 8 miles away. You are responsible for your safety, tent, food, towels, water, ice, and relaxation. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Qigong, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more... There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Most vehicles have no problem if it's taken slowly although high clearance vehicles are ideal. After rain or snow events, the road can get muddy and slippery, though we have never been stuck with either of our 2WD vehicles. Please do not drive over 15 MPH on our road, as it is not county maintained and takes our community an immense amount of effort to keep it drivable. • This tiny house contains a composting toilet in lieu of a regular flush toilet. We provide directions, but if you are not comfortable with the idea then this tiny house is not for you.

This land was previously undeveloped when we bought it in 2011, having only been used as horse grazing land and chile production in the 1960s. It is characteristic of inherited irrigated properties in the area and is about 150 ft wide and half a mile long that extends from the traditional irrigation ditch (acequia) at the top of the property to the river drainage. In the 1940s the Chile Line Railroad ran through here on the way to Espanola. Learn more about this land: Nestled in the river valley halfway between Taos and Santa Fe, near the confluence of the Rio Chama and the Rio Grande, this off-grid property is just north of Ohkay Owingeh, where indigenous settlements have existed for many centuries due to rich soil and available ground and surface water. In the 1500s settlers from Mexico came to farm land for New Spain. These historical Spanish and Native influences and identities run deep in this area, as well as the more recent influences of hippie dropout culture in Taos, Ojo Caliente, and Dixon. We have lots of book recommendations if you want to learn more about the complexity of culture and identity in northern New Mexico. Our 5 acres property is a narrow agricultural strip that extends from the irrigation acequia (ditch) at the top of the property down through a dense bosque (forest), ending in a path to the placid river bend of the Rio Grande. The campsites lie midway, among the privacy of the cottonwood bosque and adjacent pond. It is a short walk to a riverside perch with stairs to the shallow water and kayak launch. Other activities on the property include visiting the goats, chickens, and our friendly dogs, playing on the scrap-built playground, swinging on the pond swing, wading in the river, fishing, and doing some beginner kayaking the pond. This property is at its best late Spring through mid Fall when all is green, the pond is full and river is cool. Winter camping is still doable but may include snow, frozen pond, and leafless trees, and sandhill cranes. The site has a nice firepit and we have lots of wood. Summertime means mosquitos so come prepared with some serious sprays or creams- and don't bother with citronella candles, they won't be effective here. You will have a lot of privacy in the bosque, and it is relatively quiet from urban noise. You will be in agricultural and farm country, so you will be amongst the sounds of roosters, sheep, goat, peacocks and horses doing their thing in the farm land all around you. There can be dogs barking so if any of this noise bothers you you will want to bring earplugs.
