1 night at The River's Edge

The perfect quick getaway for us. Having a beautiful site on the water was key, and we even decided to stay another night after rolling in. Felt private (little paths you can walk along from the site,) and as adults with a dog, the river access was perfect (handy rope attached to the tree at our river access point.) Sure, there's road sounds, but didn't bother us for the location. The BBQ, firepit, river view table, water, and utensils/pans etc were a bonus. Would definitely visit again.

This is a great spot to camp! Quiet and peaceful, but easy access to a bunch of things nearby. The grounds are beautiful. I stayed in a tent site previously and this time around, I brought my camper. Having electricity for my camper was really helpful.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Valley Homestead

We hosted our camp-out wedding at Paradise Valley Homestead, and stayed in the Medieval Encampment as our wedding suite. The whole thing beginning to end was pure magic. Kathy is the most incredible host, and made sure that all of our friends and family knew where to find their campgrounds and that everyone was comfortable. I can’t speak enough to the beauty of this place, it’s an oasis in a busy world. Or to the kindness of Kathleen. If I had to plan my dream wedding over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. The encampment is gorgeous and comfortable - stay here! You won’t regret it.

This was a wonderful campsite. The structures are rustic and cozy, accommodations plentiful and thoughtful, and the host is incredibly kind and communicative. I would recommend this site for experienced campers and novices alike. I will definitely be back!

Great location for us, as we were heading to the NASCAR Race! We lucked out and got a shady spot for the afternoon but in the morning not so much! Left early to the race anyway! Nice having the river right there also! The host was very helpful when we had any questions.

Weekend Trip to Wooded area with campsites

I had a lot of fun camping at Jeffery’s campsite. The caretaker on premise was extremely nice and was able to supply lots of wood for a fare price. I stayed 2 nights and was left alone in a beautiful part of NJ. Only thing is no bathroom but lots if places nearby to go. Fire pit was awesome!

We loved camping at Cranberry Run. This was our first time camping with our 3 year old and it was perfect. Our campsite was nice and secluded. The host were great and helped us with anything we needed. I would recomend this spot to anyone and we will definitely be back soon.

Camping here was nice, didn’t get there early enough for a river spot but still had a great time. They have an access path to the river for campers on directly on it. They also had an awesome band playing by the pool free of charge to guest.

Such an awesome site. Even with a few renovations such as the outhouse (replaced with outdoor porter potty) and the thermal spring, there was still so much to do. Jenna was an incredible and responsive host! Awesome for a small family getaway.

We had a fantastic time camping here. It was nice and secluded with only occasional street noise being heard. It was a tad hilly but we managed to fit an 8 person tent on the ground without issue. Thomas was lovely and extraordinarily accommodating. The amenities made the stay even better, especially the grill and canopy. There was very little cell phone service but that’s not always a bad thing. Overall a great trip, will be back to check out some of the other sites soon!

Myself and my group of 10 other friends absolutely LOVED this spot!! We had campers of various experience levels and my biggest concern was making sure everyone was comfortable and that the group had what was needed. Thomas and his campsite absolutely delivered on that. The site was tidy and stocked upon arrival, Thomas was there to greet me and walk me through all the details and was kind enough to offer an extension on our second day since the site was free of bookings. It felt like the perfect crossover between glamping and rustic camping— offering everyone whatever experience they wanted to make of it. We loved the convenient access to the river (and spotted several bald eagles in our area- we believe they had a nest out there). The site was shaded and made the extra hot weekend very comfortable and the canopy over our dining area saved our butts when it decided to pour rain out of nowhere on the morning of our overnight stay. I have already recommended this site to a bunch of friends and plan to come back ASAP!! Thank you Thomas for creating such a well thought out and special place for your guests!

Tom's Rivers's Edge Sunset site was great. We picked this site in particular because of the large covered dinner pavilion that means you can have a good time regardless of the weather. The large dinner table, refrigerator, lights, and kitchen area enabled us to play games and hang out regardless of the weather. We lucked out and had great weather for the majority of our stay, but the covered area was still a great place to hang out in the evenings. There was ample space next to Tom's pre-set up tent for us to place another 9-man tent and have all of our campers staying in the same area. We didn't need to utilize the several other areas that Tom had prepared for additional tents. The fire pit area was large, and the river access was excellent. If we come back to the are, I was certainly look to book this same site from Tom.

Weekend Trip to Oak Grove Acres

My husband, our 1-year-old daughter, and I had the most peaceful and adorable stay at the Serenity pink camper! From the moment we arrived, it felt like we’d stepped into a storybook—everything was pink, cozy, and full of charm. 💕 The camper itself was clean and oh-so-cute. They even had the sweetest camper mugs that made morning coffee feel extra special. We made pasta on the working stove (yes, full pasta night in the woods!) and grilled burgers on the little charcoal grill, which worked perfectly. We lit a fire in the fire pit and cuddled up nearby. Our daughter absolutely loved it—she was running around barefoot on the grass, giggling, and totally in her element. She found a frog, a ladybug, butterflies, ants, and was just so happy exploring and playing with sticks. She was completely in love with nature—it was beautiful to watch. 🌿🦋🐸 The owners were very communicative and kind, which made everything even more enjoyable and stress-free. Tip: don’t forget to bring bug repellent! You're surrounded by nature, and the bugs definitely like to say hello. This was the perfect escape from the city hustle. So peaceful, so cute, and filled with small joys. 💖

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

The River's Edge

The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. Our property has a vast collection of vintage, classic, and current vinyl albums that play solely from solar power. Its audio system delivers sound on the inside and out for a campfire mood that can't be beaten. Our Property is 16 acres with direct access to state land and the Monguap River with hundreds of acres of woods for you to explore. The river is close enough to be seen and heard from the cabin, but the adventure of getting there is half the fun! The Delaware River is only 2 miles from our location, and River rafting is a big business around here. A small artesian-fed creek runs right next to the cabin. It lends to the relaxing sounds of water with many quaint spots for you to dip your toes into, paired with a wood-fired tub that can only be explained by experience. Wildlife can be seen and heard all around you. Make sure you download a bird identifier app! A queen temper-pedic bed and super comfy overstuffed futon will assure a good night's slumber. The Record Room's covered outdoor kitchen is designed to extend the awesome vibes into every meal.. (I.E. Flat top grill, single burner and stainless grate grill all powered by propane, cast iron frying pans, and utensils). Our outhouse is designed and maintained by the women of the family, and great pride is taken in making it a favorable experience. A small wood stove heats the Record Room on chilly mornings and nights. If you're looking for glamping, this is your place. We are always adding new features built from the sawmill operations of our homestead. We have a few spots available for your friend circle to pitch a tent and enjoy the experience with you. Feel free to reach out with any special requests; we enjoy a challenge! A basic convenience store can be located three miles to the right of our property with all your basic needs (including gas). For your grocery shopping, a small family-owned market can be found within 10 minutes up the road. If you're looking for activities, there are plenty of rafting/canoeing/kayaking companies for your enjoyment. Do you want to hike instead? We've got you covered. We thought that hipcamp could introduce people to our mission and make some extra money to get the farm off the ground. Ugly Apple Farms is a diverse place. We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River. We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them. We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. Our camping is primitive but there is access to potable water and sanitation if needed. All extras are first come first serve if not reserved in advance. We love and welcome any questions! We have luscious fields of sustainably produced vegetables, fruit and flowers. Explore the Delaware river from our boat launch or one of the great canoe rental companies. Hike Mt. Tammany, Ski Shawnee Mt, walk the Appalachian Trail, visit America's oldest jazz club in Delaware Water Gap or visit the dozens of water falls surrounding our farm for a swim. (Autumn is camping season in the poconos, bring blankets and plan hikes for excellent fall foliage) We have 3 camping locations which you can park near with your vehicle. They are all private camps and out of sight from others. Our camps sites are for people that like camping in the mountains and near a working farm. Our farm and the community we built is focused on sustainable living with nature, local self reliance, and kindness. Also, feel free to join us in the fields, request a tour, pet a goat, smell a pig, and check out our DIY home renovation, (built with hempcrete). Pets should not be off leash unless well behaved and pets should not be left unattended. truck campers are allowed if they're under 8 feet. No trailers/campers. Also, if you move rocks to secure tents, please move them back, our mower blades thank you.
