When we first purchased our property, we were made aware of a young fella needing a spot to set up his yurt. He lived with us for two years before moving along. We had enjoyed having him and his yurt on our land so when he left, It left a virtual and metaphorical hole. A couple years later we had an opportunity to purchase a yurt from an outdoor adventure company and so it began. We improved upon our tenant's idea by adding a proper outhouse and outdoor shower area. The space offered us a quiet haven during hectic times and now we are ready to share that opportunity. Our yurt sits on a quiet and private nook on our 7 acre property. We are right in between Kennebunk and Biddeford so there are quite a number of areas to explore if you make us your home base. It is a lovely 6 mile ride to Goose Rocks Beach or you can spend an afternoon walking around Dock's Square in Kennebunkport. Biddeford is a rapidly rebuilding mill town that has made several high profile food and travel publications for its great dining spots. If you are visiting to get away from the city, we are less than a mile away from the Eastern Trail which connects South Portland to Kittery, ME. Bring a bike or plan a quiet walk. We loved the hot tub so much that Cliff prepared for us during our 2 nights stay. I would recommended to bring extra bedding if you plan to stay there in November, it get pretty cold in yurt.

4 nights at Willard Pond Sanctuary Retreat

This was a lovely yurt, very well appointed with all the right furniture (and not too much) and an efficient wood stove. It's on a quiet dirt road that leads to the boat launch for Willard Pond, so I could drive my kayak down but it was an easy walk when I didn't have the boat to carry. The water's very clear and looks lovely for swimming (just not in November!) and the surrounding land is an Audubon sanctuary with some well-marked trails and great views. (Warning: lots of deer ticks!!) A fantastic getaway!

The idyllic location for being in nature. The yurt was wonderfully set up. We enjoyed hot tea each night. The property is close to amenities while feeling removed from the hustle and bustle of it all. Despite the cold we enjoyed an outdoor shower. The property is near a trail to take in all the changing leaves. The hosts were so kind and thoughtful and provided spot on recommendations. We are so grateful!

YURT=YES! We arrived to a wonderful oasis, greated by wild turkeys and a beautifully maintained home away from home! My mother and I went skydiving 8 minutes away for my birthday, and this is the perfect place to unwind and experience a wonderful mix of amenities and privacy. I could not have asked for a better birthday. Thank you to the wonderful hosts, who respond instantly and made our stay memorable for entertiny!

The yurt was nicer in person. The pics don’t do it justice. The yurt was nicely furnished and had everything you would need for a comfortable weekend. The lake is a short walk up the road.

We had a wonderful time staying in the yurt! The wood stove kept us nice and cozy at night and the farm itself is beautiful. The cafe on site has delicious food and drinks, and the location is close to Portland and shopping but also close to nature and outdoorsy activities. Full disclosure, the road and bar nearby were loud at night. We knew this from previous reviews so we were prepared and not too bothered, but definitely be aware that you will be able to hear it, especially if the bar is having an event!

This was the first time we’ve stayed in a yurt, didn’t know what to expect. The place was very clean and welcoming. We got there after dark and found it fairly well with the little lanterns and the lights on when we arrived. On the night we were there - we heard a pair of Great-horned owls (according to the bird app) in trees close by- very cool and unexpected. We also woke up to rain sounding on the canvas - making it a very relaxing morning.

Such a magical spot! The yurt was perfectly cozy for our family of four. After tent camping, staying in the yurt provided all the luxuries we were ready for while still feeling close to the woods. The sink and hot plate made dinner easy! The outdoor shower was warm and wonderful and the outhouse was the cleanest I’ve experienced. The owls were our favorite part of the stay! We snuggled up with the kids and listened to them call back and forth to each other. It sounded like they were right outside the yurt. So amazing! We would definitely stay again.
