Overall the yurt and accommodations were absolutely sufficient. However it did feel like no one had been in the yurt for a bit of time and some of the homey touches were lacking: there was firewood, but I couldn't find matches or paper; there were candles and battery-powered lights, but several didn't work. This did not impact my stay too too much though, and I enjoyed my time there. As many others have noted, there is lots of noise coming from the road and nearby houses. Overall would recommend, if you're ready to be a bit more self sufficient. Do go to the cafe - it's nice!

We had a wonderful time staying in the yurt! The wood stove kept us nice and cozy at night and the farm itself is beautiful. The cafe on site has delicious food and drinks, and the location is close to Portland and shopping but also close to nature and outdoorsy activities. Full disclosure, the road and bar nearby were loud at night. We knew this from previous reviews so we were prepared and not too bothered, but definitely be aware that you will be able to hear it, especially if the bar is having an event!

The yurt and facilities were beautiful and clean, the farm was gorgeous, and the cafe was wonderful. The yurt was a little hot for summer though, and the proximity to the road as well as a fairly loud bar might take some folks out of the experience (the owners are up front about all this in their descriptions!).

After checking in, the yurt was extremely warm not a lot of ventilation. So the host left the door open and we decided to go for a swim down the road at a local river. We came back and it was still fairly warm but the yurt was filling up with bugs so we decided to shut the door and go get food and come back later hoping it would cool down. After returning closer to dark it was still pretty warm and the bugs were annoying. We tried to stay for a while, drank some wine but the noise from the adjacent road was a bit much. The bar/restaurant that sits close by had a good amount of motorcycles coming and going. It didn’t make for a peaceful evening we were hoping for, we opted to leave and not spend the evening.
The yurt itself is cute, the property is interesting but unsure about the random tent nearby the yurt? There were some other issues but overall it was not what we were looking for and in my opinion overpriced. If supplying bedding, i would be sure it is clean or not stained. Overall yurt was pretty clean but could definitely use some basic items.

We loved the beautiful, handsome built yurt and the lovely trees and gardens on the property. The yurt was huge. I would recommend that you bring flashlights and/or lanterns. While there is a string of solar lights, the yurt is surrounded by trees and the solar panel doesn't get enough sunlight for a good charge.

Paul's land, and the Yurt was a perfect solo getaway near Portland! The cedar sauna followed by a cold rinse shower was a great way to start each day, and the on-site cafe & apothecary served up delicious meals too. Just 30 minutes to South Portland. There is a bit of noise from the nearby road, but nothing a good pair of earplugs won't remedy 😊

I absolutely loved my stay at the yurt. The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind the whole time. They were accommodating and really wonderful. The yurt was spacious with amply access to wood. The outhouse was so cute (I know weird thing to say about an outhouse). It was just a great trip. I cooked on the wood stove a pork stew and some tea. I would stay again, definitely. I’ll be posting a video to my YouTube Channel The_Traveling_Teacher.

We loved our trip to the yurt! Out host was friendly and helpful and the yurt is amazing! Loved the wood stove which kept us cozy and warm the whole time. Highly recommend a stay!

The yurt at Rooted Heart is an absolutely beautiful, brilliant destination!! After a peaceful walk through the gardens you come to the secluded shelter, clearly built with a great deal of love and intention. The interior offered everything we needed for the stay, and I really appreciate how they didn't over-cram the interior of the space, which is somwthing I've experienced at other yurt rentals. The Rooted Heart yurt, however, had a perfectly simple balance of aesthetically pleasing functionality and enough space to move around!! Delightful. I especially liked the big stone hearth, and the cute woodstove which kept the cold at bay. Plus, that privy design is second to none! The craftsfolk who put this thing together are obviously gifted artists! What a joy to experience.
I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much, Rooted Heart fam!! <3

It is a beautiful, open place to stay, the wood stove kept us warm and cozy. It was great to lie on the rug in front of the wood stove. The outhouse was clean and tidy. The yard was amazing the stars at night were so magikal. Had a fire outside which really was so amazing. Cooked on the outside fire pit, cooking tools were provided and made things easy. Loved staying here.

The yurt at Rooted Heart Farm is a truly special place. My friend and I spent a night retreating here and felt deeply nourished by all the thoughtful details that went into creating this space -- from the extraordinarily comfortable bed/bedding, the well-stocked kitchen, the candles and variety of lighting options, the fire pit and outdoor sink, and the unique outhouse. The yurt itself has a cozy warmth to it while feeling spacious enough to spread out. It felt like such a private oasis despite being adjacent to a busy road.. it really provides some perspective on what is possible in finding calm and sanctuary amidst the noise of life. Our host Ashera was such a delight to connect with, providing us with the perfect balance of space and hospitality. Everyone else we met at the farm was warm and welcoming as well. Can't wait to return!
