Lakeshore Cabins and Campground (established as Lake Shore Lodge) first opened its gates under the original owners, ES and Helyn Carroll, in 1971. Linn and Kevin Krieg, ranchers in the Madison Valley, bought Lakeshore in 1981, and their family retains ownership today.
In the early days, Lakeshore felt hidden away: a short drive down a dirt road, tucked away in a stand of mature cottonwood trees. Lakeshore soon became a family summer retreat where guests returned year after year. The seclusion and shade of the cottonwood trees, the proximity to Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park, and the extraordinary outdoor sporting opportunities made Lakeshore a perfect getaway—not too far away but far enough to escape and enjoy the beauty of the Madison Valley.
In October 2022, Lakeshore closed for property-wide renovations. It reopened in July 2024 with updated utilities, beautifully appointed cabins, and a new General Store.

There is a vacation rental on one side of the property and this camp spot on the other. This property borders one of the largest and oldest ranches in the Paradise Valley known as the Story ranch.
There are also a plethora of mule deer that roam the area along with the occasional coyote and even more occasional bear. Mountain lions stay up in the hills for the most part but they are around. A few are lucky enough to ever see one. There is room for up to three vehicles at Camp Paradise Vista. There is shelter with a picnic table, a campfire , when there are no fire restrictions, and plenty of room for tents and campers.
Look out for rocks as camp Paradise Vista, rocks tend to grow and roll here!!!
You cannot beat the views at this campsite. And it is only minutes away from the Yellowstone River and a thirty mile drive to Yellowstone National Park! There is only the one campsite on the property so you will have it all to yourselves. Dogs are welcome, but must stay in camp boundaries. This campground can become very warm during the days in the summer.
There is a porta potty and a foot pump sink. No potable water available. If fires are permitted, it is mandatory that all guests dump three buckets of water from the big trough near the shelter onto the fire before turning in for the night. Quiet hours are midnight on weekends and 10 PM weekdays. Please be respectful of neighbors. And above all have a great time!!!

Our property is in a close proximity to the Fairweather Fishing access on the Missouri River. Camping is not allowed at the access so we would be the closest camping site to this great outdoor playground. There is opportunity for fishing, floating, boating, hunting and swimming in the summer . There are groves of mature trees and open sites available. This is directly off of paved county road. The railroad is directly across the road from us. And it is loud at all hours of the night depending on its schedule. We would love to be able to somehow control that schedule! We hope the trees help muffle the sound! The property adjacent to ours has the original ranch house and barn and other outbuildings that were part of the Ponderosa Pine Ranch which owned most of the valley we're in. The ranch house and buildings were divided away from our part of the property several years ago, so we have our home here and what was mostly pasture. The campsites are all pasture grass with trees for shade.
We do not have cell phone service here. We have one site that has 30 amp electricity. Also we do not have trash service .

We really enjoyed this campsite! The owner was not onsite but that was not a problem. There was an outlet at the side of the barn where you park and an extension cord was there. The kids ventured down the steep hill to the creek to fish while breakfast was cooking and then we stopped to feed grass to the horses next door. Staying at the Ringing rocks RV site was WAY better than staying in a jam packed "campground". Todd and Melanie were communicative and friendly and we are so grateful to have had a place to stay that was close to the freeway yet peaceful and chill on our multi day cross country journey. Though we didn't use the firepit (too tired!) it was a nice touch and the chairs and picnic table were very nice to have. We got lucky and no one was on either side of us, and we eyed up the cabins on our way out - might give those a try next time.

Nice little set up, with a beautiful view. The electric hook up was convenient. And once we figured out how to get down to the creek we were so enchanted with it !
