We are ready to host you and your RV on six peaceful acres of a 12 acre parcel on the edge of Salem, AR city limits. We are right between somewhere and over there, not far from the whatchamacallit (which closes at 5 p.m. and is never open on Sundays). We are located on the bluff of the South Fork of the Spring River. Just across the bridge is public land that has an access point for small boat launching. This river is wadable. Throw a lawn chair in and bring your favorite beverage and sit and soak up the sun. Choose from three available sites – each with at least 30 yards from its nearest neighbor. No water, sewer or electric at sites. Generators welcome. Run it all night if you want. Water is available to fill your fresh water tank for a $5.00 fee. We do have a way you can dump your tanks, but could be tricky for some rigs. There is a $5.00 fee for that as well. Fire ring and picnic table included at each site. Feel free to gather fallen branches for fire wood if you didn’t bring your own. No cutting from trees permitted. We do have occasional burn bans in the area during hot and dry spells, but generally it's in the very midst of summer if a ban does occur. We are pet friendly, but if your pet is not friendly, we ask that you keep it leashed; otherwise, they are free to roam (we cannot be responsible for runaways). Your pet should never be unattended or allowed to infringe upon a neighbor. We are located 18 miles from the MUST-SEE Mammoth Springs and 25 miles from Henderson/Norfork Lake. Both great for a day trip. Salem is in Fulton County – a dry county. BYOB! If you need to go for a beer run, you are looking at a 17 mile trip to Bootleggers, or an 11 mile trip to Barker’s Hilltop Package Store. As previously mentioned, the shower house is amazing (and has AC) but they also have a great set up around camp. You can be as primitive or comfortable as you'd like and the host family is incredibly welcoming and friendly. They went over and above and helped us with a couple small issues we were having. Would definitely recommend!

We arrived with a tent and I’m not sure where some expectation or site description might have missed each other but there were no tenting bathroom/shower facilities available, but Al worked happily with us to figure it out The site is beautiful, plenty of frog insect and bird song to sleep and wake up to, the hot tub is crazy hot like REALLY hot, and our host showed us a true heart of hospitality in making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The next time we’re in the area we’ll be sure to book again and just make sure we grab one of the spacious on site RV Airbnb’s Lovely stay

LOVED this campground. Hosts are awesome and communication is STELLAR. Very helpful with information and suggestions. Amenities are exactly as described. Store has plenty of supplies for the 'oops, I forgot.' Spots are not packed on top of each other. Campground is quiet and well maintained. Lots of extras (cornhole, tetherball, etc.). Did not encounter any issues, and I do not doubt that if we had, they would have been addressed immediately. I hope this is a representation of all Hipcamp suggestions!

This site is private with lots of space to enjoy. It’s also close to a lot of nature trails and scenic viewpoints! Having electricity was great as it is very dark. This is definitely a good site for stargazing! We spent 2 nights in a tent and canoed the Jacks Fork River. Good spot and excellent communication with the host!

We loved camping here! Big Rock Candy Mountain Retreat is an amazing place. The property is very well maintained and nice. Shower house and bathrooms are clean and better than any other bath/shower house I have used while camping. The owners are super accommodating, helpful and friendly. We felt very welcome and will were planning a return visit after the first night. The restaurant was amazing as well and had great food and drinks. I highly recommend BRCM to anyone traveling through the area. I can't wait to return and show others this fantastic property!

Lighting for the site is provided by a portable power unit which is available for guests to charge any of their electronic devices as well. A picnic table with umbrella, a detached restroom, and a fire pit are also available for guest use. The property offers easy access to Whites creek as well as walking trails to explore the many cave and rock formations in the area. For outdoorsman this site offers easy access to public and private hunting lands as well as world class Smallmouth bass and Rainbow trout fishing opportunities nearby. Branson and Springfield are both about an hour away by car. With both cities having numerous restaurants, activities, and attractions for those seeking a little more than the Show Me states natural beauty. Ava is the closest town with goods and services. It sits just 7 miles to the west of this campsite on Missouri Hwy 14. The town has a Walmart a few restaurants as well as numerous gas stations and convenience stores. The land had potential, but was neglected. We contacted the owners, bought the property, and started the cleanup. Mountains of garbage and signs of neglect everywhere. We worked hard, loving the land, listening to the land to make it clean, peaceful and full of welcoming energy.
