Riverside Tiny House in Houston MO

1 site · Lodging5 acres · Houston, Texas
This property is on the “Little Piney” river in Houston, Missouri and features a private beach with some great swim spots - even when the river is low! Great for nature lovers seeking to unwind and connect with the outdoors. Amazing view of the stars at night that is comparable to an astronomy park. This tiny house sleeps four people on three mattresses, with an additional bed roll available. Access to the river is easy via the low water bridge located about 150ft feet from the Tiny house. You can hear the river from the porch and see it in wintertime when there aren't many leaves on the trees. and be able to hear it from the porch. We ask that you respect nature and pack out what you pack in. When you walk up, you will enter the tiny house through the screened in porch. There is a magnetic screen that you can walk through which will reconnect itself after you enter. You can relax on the screened in porch or venture into the tiny house. Inside, you will find a fully furnished bathroom and kitchen. There is no stove but we do have a hot-plate with dual burners so you can cook. We have running water, a Berkey water filter to filter the water, and heat and air conditioning. There is an upstairs loft area with two twin mattresses and a full mattress in the downstairs area. There is a shower and bathroom area for you to enjoy a hot shower after a day of being in nature. We have books and games for you to enjoy. We have WiFi through Starlink that works great. Guests will have their own private drive. The tiny house is on our 5-acre property. You cannot see our house from where the tiny house is located. You will most likely not see us except you might see us drive down the driveway in our car. We have 3 dogs (who will be leashed during your visit) and 7 cats who live around the property. You will have full access to the tiny house and the fire-pit and parking area adjacent to the tiny house. The river is in our backyard and you can hear it from the tiny house. You will be about 150 feet from the river during your stay. You are welcome to use the marked trail down to the river area on our property and you can access the river from there. You can also drive or walk down the road and park next to the river if that's easier (the path down to the water is a little steep). Please do not leave anything down at the river during your visit. Please do not utilize any other space on the property. We operate a Jiu-Jitsu & Judo academy on the property and you can book a private martial arts or Yoga class if you would like to learn. You can also join in with the group classes that happen almost everyday. We would love to have you join in and share the martial arts with you during your stay. We have WiFi through Starlink that works great. You might not have cell phone service unless you have AT&T - although you can make calls through the WiFi. We will be available through the app or by phone if you need anything. We live in the main cabin on the property and will be available in the event of an emergency. However, we will not be interacting with you unless you bring such an emergency to our attention.

L'isola Farm

2 sites · TentsVanzant, Douglas
In 2012 I realized I wanted to reconnect with nature. I was born and raised in NYC and always felt like something was wrong. It wasn't until I came to the Ozarks that I realized that it was nature that was missing from my life. It's been a long road to normalcy, the land was trashed when I got it and needed to be cleaned. Every structure on the land was build, at least in part, by me. It's rustic to say the least but it's definitely a unique experience.Learn more about this land:This is a quaint off-grid homestead. Living here is a lot like camping. It's located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Ozarks where there are plenty of stars at night and sounds of the birds and frogs always in the air. There is a great little platform in the wooded area of my property where you can set your tent up. You are also welcome to stay a little closer to the 'people area' and partake in daily activities on the farm. We are always doing something fun, sometimes it's using earthen plaster other times it's building with mud.  We have an outdoor shower available in the summer. Composting toilet. Wood cookstove. Any other questions please inquire within.
