We are a homestead located on 20 acres, nestled at the end of a quiet gravel road. Our rolling fields are home to two cows and our rescued buffalo, where they graze peacefully throughout the day. You'll also see chickens pecking around the property and our lazy tomcat lounging in the shade.
The property features two ponds, including our main pond, which is available for catch-and-release fishing.
Our single secluded campsite is located at the back of the property among large shade trees. The site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and rustic outhouse. An outdoor water pump is available nearby, although it is not located directly at the campsite. Garbage and recycling bins are also provided for your convenience.
There are two homes on the property. Your hosts live in the log cabin, while family members reside in the tiny home. We are available to answer any questions, assist with your stay, and show you around the property if you'd like.
The campsite offers a primitive camping experience while still being just 15 minutes from the quaint town of Mountain View. Buck Hollow on the Jack's Fork River is only 5 minutes away and is a great spot for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. We can also assist with kayak transportation for a $20 fee.
If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the perfect place. Enjoy the sounds of nature, watch the morning sun rise over the hills, and admire the lightning bugs as they flicker through the trees at night. We are just getting Dotson acres started. Our motto is faith, family and farmstead. We just moved here this summer of 2025 from Tennessee so the property is a work in progress. I am a veteren of the Marine Corps and also a volunteer firefighter and we live and operate under christian values.
Eventually to add to your camping experience, ive got plans for some off grid cabins and an earthship. In addition to camp spots, ai would like to make a little prayer area in the woods with some benches and a big cross. We hope to have a trail cut and cleared for a small hike soon. The plans for Dotson acres is to also sell chainsaw carvings and other things I weld, sculpt or create. Plant starts and garden produce, chicken eggs and any other creative ways we can find to help fund our dream of being together doing what we love instead of going to a normal job to make someone elses dreams come true.
Not far away you can visit Mark Twain National Forest, Montauk State Park, Ozark National Scenic Riverways, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum to name a few. Roughly 40 minutes off I44 at rolla and 20 minutes ftom hwy 60 just 2 hours to branson and springfield. Walmart and fast food are just 10 minutes away. We are new to the area but there are other lakes, trails and stuff to do close. Lots of flea markets and antiques stores close by to go explore.
Located on a small private lane there are a few quiet neighbors. There is a parking area to access trail by walk in, though we are trying to make it vehicle accessable. Our first spot is able to fit a small van camper or a pickup with a small box camper though its pretty tight. 4x4 may be needed.

This 12-acre property is high in the Ozarks, literally next door to the Mark Twain National Forest. The space being rented is large enough for a small trailer and several vehicles, and can also accommodate multiple tents. Nice view.
It can be used for vacation camping, hunting base camp, hiking trips, or photography expeditions. You can also use the space as a base camp for rafting trips.
This place is absolutely crawling with wildlife: deer, bear, turkeys, and countless other critters big and small. There’s even supposedly a red wolf or two in the area.
The property is separated into two halves by a high ridge. One side of the ridge is for living and farming, and the other side is for hunting and hiking. There is a seasonal creek on each side of the ridge.
Your rental spot is kept cut short and is treated for ticks and chiggers.

If you’re looking for adventure, you’ll find fishing, floating, and swimming just a few minutes walk to River access or an even shorter drive away. There’s also Boiling Spring access five miles away. Grill your own food or visit the restaurant and bar located right before the spring. If the weather turns icky, hang out indoors and shoot some pool.
The Ozark Scenic Riverways are not far, and if you like to cruise around and discover new places, you could spend a day exploring local attractions or visiting the many beautiful springs in the area. Montauk State Park is 15 miles from camp. Trout fisherman paradise!

I enjoyed this little secluded spot. Best campsite on the campgrounds if you're looking for something a bit less "open". It's tucked back in some trees unlike the other campsites. On the 2nd night I switched to a different site though to get some distance from other campers since a huge party of 37 showed up in the area just outside this spot. The host was helpful.

Great little spot, beautiful sunsets, felt safe and was quiet. Katrina was so kind and allowed us to check in one hour early. She met us at the lot and gave some local recommendations of things to do. Was great to have a place to do laundry & the shower was nice and hot. The place does need a little TLC as most of the campers are permanent residents and have a lot of random stuff sitting around, also our picnic table was rotted and unusable. But those things aren’t dealbreakers! Very nice place overall, would definitely stay again.

All the comforts of a hotel with all the beauty of camping! No need to pack a sleeping bag, the beds have pillows and blankets already. Fridge, freezer, microwave, and cheap ice made meals very easy. The porch has two chairs and a small table. There is a cigarette container for those who need it. The picnic table was in great shape and the firepit kept our coals warm enough that I only had to light our fire the first night and it stayed hot enough to cook our meals for the next day. The bathroom had hot running water, a shower, and a flush toilet. That was super handy for our kids in the middle of the night. AC and heat kept us comfortable at night, while the TV and DVD player were a nice break when rain came through. We enjoyed the playground and the walking trail.
Definetly consider this cabin for your next glamping trip! (Cabin 1 & 2 are two halves of the same building. Cabin 2 was empty during our trip. It would have been a bit too cozy if we had neighbors that close. For more privacy, choose Cabin 3, 4, the Squirrel Nest, or the Tackle Box.)

It was a great area. The host was sweet and easy going. Her mom (grandma) was so sweet and looked forward to seeing her and her pupper dog everyday. The site we had was very nice. The noise from town was a little annoying but overall it was a good stay. Will definitely go back.

Firewood was all ready to go for us and within 15-30 minutes drive for all the hiking and outdoor activities we wanted to do.
