Weekend Trip to Retreat to the Country
Absolutely must see! The yurt is beautiful and cozy and everything has its own little place that makes you feel right at home. The land is beautiful and the trail down to the creek allowed for some great scenery and view of the wildlife. We will definitely come again outside of the winter months to enjoy the yurt magic.

I went looking for remote, and remote is what I got. This places was absolutely fantastic! I stayed down by the river and had an amazing time. The road down can be a bit rocky but easily doable in just about any vehicle. Lance was a great host and shared a lot of knowledge about the property and surrounding area. I'll definitely be back!!!

We loved tent camping out here on Lance's land, it was beautiful, the woods are lovely and secluded which is exactly what we were looking for. Lance is a wonderful host and very accommodating. We will definitely be back in the future for a longer stay, 5/5 stars!

I live in a rural area and this is VERY RURAL, and that’s just fine. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. We could have stayed up top but wanted a view of the river so we braved the rustic trail to the secluded river spot. We both had AWD and were glad we did because it was a bumpy ride. However, totally worth it. The site faced west over the river and we got to see deer run across the low river and heard owls and coyotes. It was 100% primitive camping down there but we had brought water and a portable toilet so we were prepared. If you have a vehicle that can make the trek down and you don’t mind primitive and secluded, then this is a spot for you.

This is our 3rd year visiting and each year is excellent. The host is fantastic and accommodating. The animals delight and are great with young and older kids alike. All around enjoyable experience for the family. We look forward to our yearly birthday voyage. Thank you!

2 nights at Retreat to the Country
The perfect get away from urban life. Our 25th wedding anniversary brought us to this Hipcamp yurt. Bill had all our needs taken care of. The woods was in fall transition. The view is amazing as is the mystical yurt.

Susan’s property was the perfect secluded camping spot. It was easy to find, there were lots of friendly farm animals that came to say hello, and the camp sites were far from the house, tucked away by the tree line so you could enjoy the pasture and the woods at the same time. The composting toilet was close enough and clean, and we had easy access to potable water and firewood. We had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

This place is a slice of heaven. The grounds are well maintained, the animals very friendly, and the scenery gorgeous. Highly recommended, especially if you have kiddos. Our 7&9 year olds loved it and didn’t want to leave.

1 night at Retreat to the Country
This yurt was absolutely spectacular - my jaw actually dropped as soon as I opened the door. This was our checkpoint on our way home to Ohio from Colorado, 16hrs in the car from CO to MO, and this little place was exactly what we needed. We were elated to find AC, full working kitchen and shower, the most comfortable bed of our entire trip, and gorgeously whimsical deco fitted with tea candles and fairy lights for the perfect ambience. Their kitchen was fitted with all of the utensils and equipment one would need, including a microwave, electric stovetop, and a pantry stocked with seasonings, among many other kitchen amenities. The food we picked up on our way into town had gotten cold by the time we got in, so we were so relieved that we could use the kitchen to heat it all back up! Even the outhouse was stellar, with running water for washing and compost toilet. All in all, the only thing I would have changed about our stay is that I wish we could have stayed longer! 1 night at Retreat to the Country
Bill's Yurt was a wonderful place to stay! It is in a beautiful location on the property and the overall location was easy for us to find on our bicycles. The yurt was well supplied and we thought the composting toilet was great! Bill did a great job communicating with us and we would highly recommend staying at the yurt!
