Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff.  It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.

D'Ranch at Clearwater is a small, 40 acre hobby farm located on the north side of the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. What started as a simple love of backyard chickens has now become a dream farm for Tracey Durant and her husband Theodore. Nestled in the valley between two forest covered hillsides, and running adjacent to Clearwater Creek on the east and the lake on the south, D'Ranch could not have been a more perfect location for the Durants to plant their roots and get their feet wet. While they continue their love of backyard chickens with their small egg and hatchery operation know as HeebyJeeby Chickens, they have expanded their interests to an array of friendly farm animals including horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, and an occasional turkey or two.

Upon entry into our rustic cabin, you will enjoy natural sunlight that peaks through the large picture window. The kitchen, living and bedroom areas are all open spaces that flow together seamlessly with plenty of places to sit and relax. The kitchen is stocked for your cooking needs in addition to a Keurig for your morning coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Enjoy puzzles, games or books for relaxing days. On cold evenings, grab a blanket and snuggle in front of a stone fireplace. The laundry room conveniently located near the bathroom. While outside, you will love the stunning view of the lake and mature trees while soaking in the hot tub. Use the propane grill for your BBQing or enjoy s’mores at the fire pit with our complimentary firewood on-site. S’more kits are provided and are a must for every campfire. Our farm is nestled between the cities of Hermann and Warrenton where you can enjoy wineries and other seasonal attractions. Browse through the Guestbook for maps, details, and other local attractions all within thirty minutes away. There are no steps at the cabin or treehouses and are wheel-chair assessible. There is limited cellphone service, no Wifi or television at Whispering Pines with the intention to allow our guests an opportunity to connect with nature. We strive to provide all your needs during your stay with us. Pine Valley is located in the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest and sits just a short walk away from historic Dillard Mill. Book the entire Farm or stay in an Airstream or Cottage. Group rentals Welcome! Pine Valley is on 43 acres of beautiful green pasture and woodland. Take a hike on one of the trails around the property or go fishing or wading on the Huzzah Creek. Spend your evening roasting marshmallows around your private campfire. Guests will have access to the 40 acres of land surrounding them. There are two ponds on the premise. Enjoy the quarter-mile walk to the old Dillard Mill Store, displayed in museum fashion at the entrance of Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Tour the old grist mill in working form, fish for sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass at the Mill, and take memorable photos. Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.

Great for groups of up to 16. The Commons house a kitchen with full refrigerator sink and electricity for your convenience. The Commons also contains 2 flushing toilets, 2 bathroom sinks and 2 outdoor showers with hot water! We have over 1.5 miles of maintained shaded trails a spring fed pond to fish, swim or use our canoe to paddle around on. Please be sure to bring your own bug spray and sunscreen. Our place is ideal for groups of up to 16. 1 mile down the road is Three Moons Winery with wine tastings on the weekends. 15 minutes is Charity Access to the Niangua River.

Natural cabin for nature lovers on a little homestead. This cabin was built using local wood and is situated in a grove of mature oak and persimmon trees. Relax on the porch, sit around the fire, or enjoy looking out the window at wildlife (lots of birds!) and livestock. The cabin has a loft, galley kitchen, and a small bathroom with shower. Less than 20 minutes away from I-70, just over 30 minutes from Columbia, MO. Located close to Missouri river access at Lupus, and is approx 10 minutes away from Plowboy Bend Conservation Area, Prairie Home Conservation Area, and Big Muddy NWR. There is one twin bed on ground level and a twin and full bed in the loft, option to move full mattress to the floor. Family friendly, lots to see on the farm (we have katadhin sheep, Irish Dexter cattle, plus many more).

Weekend Trip to Retreat to the Country
Loved Bill’s little cabin, the hike and cats most especially. He was so accommodating and flexible when we came in later, he allowed a late check-in. He was responsive when we had questions. The only thing to note is the toilet is in the room and so if you need full privacy, either be comfortable with who you’re with or they’ll have to step out. The compost toilet took some research to understand how to use, and I am still not sure I used it totally correctly. Either way, we plan to go back again someday!

I've tent camped at D'Ranch several times. Ted and Tracey are always the best! Chose a cabin this time. Perfect for my needs. Basic with no electric or running water. Port a john nearby. Great place to relax. Good place to see some wildlife.

My husband and I took our two girls (ages 8 and 10) to stay in the lady Asha yurt. The yurt was well stocked with so many little details well thought out. All of the animals were very friendly. We had horses and a dog come right up to our yurt to say hello.

We just came back from our second trip to Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors, and once again it felt absolutely magical. ✨ As a single mama of four, camping can sometimes feel overwhelming, but renting the yurt made it so much easier — and honestly, it turned into something even more special. The land itself is breathtaking, and the experience of being surrounded by animals roaming freely, sweet and friendly, made it unforgettable for my kids. They were in heaven, completely obsessed with every animal they met. Making magical core memories with my children is my number one goal as a mama, and this place does that and so much more. It wasn’t just a getaway — it was a memory-making trip that gave us those moments I know my children will carry in their hearts forever. The beauty of the land, the warmth of the animals, and the sense of peace all around truly make it a one-of-a-kind spot. This is more than a five-star rating, but five stars is the max. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ll definitely be coming back as often as humanly possible!

Clean, well stocked, and private. Exactly what we needed to get away from this realtor’s crazy work life. Location is spot on for spending the day in nearby cities and enjoying quiet evenings in. The perfect solution to those who would prefer an upscale feel in a perceived camping environment. The only thing we would change would be sturdier chairs around the camp fire. Although, we did have a good laugh.
