Let’s just say this was a beautiful and peaceful trip for our family . We all our new to camping so this was an amazing experience for us and the kids. Mr. Ken & his wife is awesome and very considerate they have everything you could need for a fun trip And plenty of of space and wildlife to enjoy we will be planning many more trips this summer!

It is a beautiful little place. The peacock is loud and the geese are really mean. it is a unique place to stay. I stayed there for a shower while working so I didn’t get to take in all the amenities but it looks like a lot of other people have a lot of fun there.

Beautiful creekside campsite! We had an awesome stay!

1 night at Four Creeks Campground

We are experienced van campers who found Creekside to be everything we wanted (and needed). This is a lovely spot on a rambling creek. We had good access for our sprinter van and total privacy while immersed in nature. Shelley was a model host: provided great directions to their location; met us when we arrived; and offered assistance in multiple ways. The shower on site doesn’t look like much but was piping hot and met our needs on an early morning.

4 nights at Spring Lake Ranch

Camping here was a really fun experience. The land is beautiful and the lake is full of aggressive panfish, spotted bass, and some crappie too. The hosts have kayaks, paddleboats, and canoes to rent. The bathrooms and showers were clean and spacious. However, the campsites are not. If the campsites are relatively full, I would recommend finding a less booked weekend. The campsite tent platforms are ~10-30 yards away from eachother so if it is a booked weekend, it will be very cramped. Our trip was great and since it was at a time where camping is not as common, we had well enough space and quiet. The hiking paths are nice and circle the lake and property. The instructions from the host were spot on and very helpful and I was able to meet the owners and they are very nice. The winery next door (shares the same entrance road) has a sign near the entrance to Spring Lake and is highly reccomended as they make great wine and are also super friendly.

Had a very pleasant stay at Hawks Bluff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Electric and water were provided and reliable. Gravel campsites and roadways were well maintained. It was quiet and peaceful. Communication was great.

We loved camping here!! It was cool that we got to choose where we wanted to set up our tent. We enjoyed the farm animals and hiking around the property. The outdoor kitchen was convenient with a stove/oven, fresh spring water and a sink. My son got to rock hunting which was a lot of fun. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!!

We love this particular site! We have rented it two times and shall again in the future. The shower house is clean and convenient.

I had such a lovely time at Hawks Bluff! Elizabeth was so kind and helpful. Everything was so perfect- the lot of cute farm animals, the rock hunting expedition I attended, the cozy & very roomy tent, and the creek I got to take a dip in! Already planning my trip back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tent camping and rock hunting adventure at Elizabeth's farm. Elizabeth was a very positive and hospitable hostess, as were her staff. They were quick to respond to any questions or issues.

We loved Hawk Bluff Campground, very rustic and peaceful with electric and water for our RV . The farm animals contributed to the serene atmosphere. Elizabeth and Mark were both helpful, assisting us with where to rockhound on the property. Mark took us down to the creek bed as well as shared the history of the tiff holes. When there was a tornado warning, the owner reached out and had us seek shelter in her basement. Definitely will go back next year if able.

We spent two nights in the cabin for Easter weekend and had an amazing time. It rained/stormed practically the whole time, but the space was so well equipped we still had so much fun! The front porch is nice and deep, so plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors even when it’s raining. There’s a beautiful view of the river, the beds are cozyyy, and the cabin is equipped with everything you would need besides bringing your food! It is very well insulated and the AC unit worked really well. The compost toilet had such a cute little room and with the directions/set up that did not smell at all! Everything is well lit, and the outdoor shower is really cool. A few things to consider- we had a 1.5 year old with us (she did her first Easter egg hunt there which was special). But, because of the layout with the porch height and the drop off/overlook of the river, we had to be on top of her at all times when outside. Which wasn’t a big deal but if you had multiple little ones it might be a little challenging. We also brought our 90 lbs Labrador who had an amazing time. He had plenty of room to roam and went for some beautiful walks. The host, Lacey, was phenomenal! Very responsive, so thoughtful (she left a little Easter basket for our girl), and was really on top of it watching the weather and levels of the river since there was a flood warning. You are in really good hands here and guaranteed to have a good time (even if are dealing with some weather)!

4 nights at Four Creeks Campground

My husband and I had a terrific week on Michelle and Paul’s land. We had originally reserved a few days by the creek and a few on the ranch so we could hook our trailer camper up to power. We didn’t know the layout of the place. When we got there they had us set up in a spot by the creek and ran a power cord for us to charge up without having to move to a new spot half way through the week. Our 2 mini Aussies loved the freedom of being off leash and playing in the water. Bathrooms and shower house were clean. Lots of room to roam and explore. The creek is full of drusy quartz and lace agate. Rockhounding is one of the reasons we were in Missouri, so unknowingly picking a place to camp that had such a great creek was a huge bonus. It was mid April when we were there so there were only a few other campers there for 2 days of our stay so we had the place to ourselves. The swimming hole was too inviting to not at least try. It was so cold it nearly stopped my heart,lol. I don’t know if it gets warmer but it’s not too deep and would be great for kids in the heat of summer. And if the things to do around camp aren’t enough you’re close to lots of great state parks and things to see. Blue Spring is only a short drive away and worth a visit, Cave Spring is a little farther and a wonderful 5 mile hike out and back that’s also totally worth it. Michelle checked in with us several times during the week to see if we needed anything. Everything was exceptional! Highly recommended!!

This was certainly one of the most beautiful campsites we’ve ever been to! Ken and Joan were hands down fantastic hosts. We loved our stay at this little slice of heaven and just 40min outside of the city!
