Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.

The property is separated into two halves by a high ridge. One side of the ridge is for living and farming, and the other side is for hunting and hiking. It is a balance that we love and it is our pleasure to share this property with you. We are new here, but we are not new to the camping world; we have been helping campers have positive experiences since 2013 and already have over 170 positive reviews on Airbnb. We would love for Hip Campers to come experience our brand of cabin camping, with farm and forest experiences.A little history of the surrounding area: The Mark Twain National Forest was stripped by loggers in the 1800's and was purchased by the government as a preserve. Since then, it has regrown into hardwood forest, dotted with remnants of pine. It feels wild and untouched, despite knowing it's history. And within it, it harbors all manner of waterways, wildlife, plants, and fungi beyond your imagination. We love southern Missouri and hope you come catch a taste of the wildness that is the Forest. Pine Valley is located in the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest and sits just a short walk away from historic Dillard Mill. Book the entire Farm or stay in an Airstream or Cottage. Group rentals Welcome! Pine Valley is on 43 acres of beautiful green pasture and woodland. Take a hike on one of the trails around the property or go fishing or wading on the Huzzah Creek. Spend your evening roasting marshmallows around your private campfire. Guests will have access to the 40 acres of land surrounding them. There are two ponds on the premise. Enjoy the quarter-mile walk to the old Dillard Mill Store, displayed in museum fashion at the entrance of Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Tour the old grist mill in working form, fish for sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass at the Mill, and take memorable photos. Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.

The space being rented is large enough for a small trailer and several vehicles, and can also accommodate multiple tents. Nice view. It can be used for vacation camping, hunting base camp, hiking trips, or photography expeditions. You can also use the space as a base camp for rafting trips. This place is absolutely crawling with wildlife: deer, bear, turkeys, and countless other critters big and small. There’s even supposedly a red wolf or two in the area. The property is separated into two halves by a high ridge. One side of the ridge is for living and farming, and the other side is for hunting and hiking. There is a seasonal creek on each side of the ridge. Your rental spot is kept cut short and is treated for ticks and chiggers. 4x4 required.

We had a great time camping on Teresa's land. It has all the hookups you need and more! Very peaceful remote area, but still close enough to Van Buren that fetching any forgotten supplies is a breeze. She was also very kind, suggesting locations, offering advise, and even getting us some extra fire wood. One thing of note is to not listen to your GPS when arriving and actually read Teresa's email with detailed directions. Lol Otherwise you end up down her neighbor's driveway and look like an idiot. 😂

The site was very quiet and we were the only campers in the area. It was secluded and a great spot for a getaway. The firewood on-site was a big plus for us. We were also grateful for the extremely clean porta potty on site. Hosts were not on site that we could tell, but it was not needed anyway for our stay.

We camped in the safari tent and had a cozy lovely time. Although it was in a loop with other campsites it felt plenty private, set back from the road and separated from the other sites by plenty of trees. Didn't end up trying the tub, but it looked nice. The wood stove kept us warm throughout the night, and the solar power bank and water pump were a nice touch.

The high and dry site was easy to find, felt private, had enough room to spread out and was surrounded by woods. It was conveniently located close to town and to parks and hiking in the area. We didn't see anyone (except two friendly dogs that stopped by one day). There is a nice fire pit at the site and a clean porta potty a quick walk across the bridge. There was a some road noise, but overall a nice little spot and good base camp with so much to explore in this beautiful area.

About

Welcome to Floater's Paradise, also known as the ONSR, in south-central Missouri. It's home to some of the largest springs in the United States (springs of gushing water, not springs that make comfy mattresses). Tourists can take advantage of the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers' lazy, meandering movements to enjoy the great outdoors.

Several outfitters rent canoes, kayaks, and boats for you and your family to float the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. Start at Van Buren, and by the end of the day, you're in Doniphan if you float on the crystal-clear Current River. Along the way, see craggy bluffs, rolling pasture lands, hidden caves, and plenty of springs that feed the river. Spelunkers can enjoy the 300 caves in the area.

For a real treat, get off the river and take a look at Big Spring (one of the largest in the world). Alley Mill sits in an idyllic spot near Eminence, as the red building stands out against the clear water and green trees. If you're really lucky, you may lay eyes on Shannon County's wild horse herd that roams freely throughout the ONSR.

Check with your outfitters regarding crowds and water levels on the rivers. This park is somewhat crowded during the summer. That's why a day float in mid-October, offers a fantastic chance to see the surrounding hills in their autumn glory.

We canoed the Current and loved how quiet and clear the water was. Very peaceful in October. We are definitely coming back to explore more camping! Public campsites are closed during the government shutdown

Very beautiful and clean, but Saturdays are crowded until later in the afternoon. There was a fraction of the people on Sunday and it was much more peaceful. ONSR is a great place!

Floater's Paradise!
One can float right past the property, putting in at the bridge and taking out by the rope swing. Mary even supplied tubes! We also floated from Boiling Springs Public Access to Mason Bridge Public Access, about 6 miles. On a Saturday, we only saw two other groups and the scenery was beautiful! Also, lots of fish to catch!

I loved the Ozark National Scenic Riverway!! I went with my dog and did a tour of the various springs. They were all so beautiful and peaceful. Now that it's springtime, wildlife was abundant. I'd highly recommend taking some days in this area.

Beautiful river, but distracted host blew it for me, driving through with his big loud truck every 20-30 minutes and forgetting to bring wood for a fire. Zero privacy, gross porta potty, failed to do what he said would. Not an experience worth revisiting… Lame.
