2 nights at Serenity Valley

We had a great stay at the Serenity Valley cabin! It’s a beautiful and very comfortable spot - a double bed on the first floor with a cozy fireplace, a couple of chairs and a cot. The host also left a lantern, first aid kit, additional trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels. Upstairs in the small loft area are two extra beds but it was way too hot up there during our stay. Out in the porch there is a couple more places to sit and a big table that helps with any food prepping + some basic cooking utensils (metal spatula, tongs, etc). Loved waking up to all the birds singing and watching the fireflies right outside at nightime! The hosts generosity, recommendations about activities onsite and surrounding areas and comfortable amenities make this place a step up from your regular camping. The fireplace was our favorite spot, 10/10 would recommend!

We had the most lovely stay on Lindsey’s farm! The yurt was cozy and safe during a sudden thunderstorm. We enjoyed wandering the land and seeing all of the vegetables, orchard, and animals. I absolutely recommend staying at Rising Sun Farm!

This was the perfect place to stay for the night. Such a cute little cabin and had everything I needed. Went for a walk in the nature trails after dinner and was so serene and quiet. Wild definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Stone Creek Farm

Dan’s place is a true treasure. The land is beautiful, the campsites are separated enough to feel like you are out in your own little spot, and he is close to so many fun spots in the Taylor’s Falls area. Dan himself is so welcoming - greeting us when we arrived, introducing us to his sweet chickens, and giving suggestions for things to do. We would highly recommend this location!

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

This is an amazing spot to camp. JT has done a great job setting this place up. The kids really enjoyed getting accross Belle creek to get to the cabin. When we arrived the water was high. I brought a raft so I was able to get the kids and the gear across. I would definitely recommend this site and we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Twin Folk Farms

This was our second time staying at Twin Folk farms and our first time at their cabin. We absolutely loved it! The weather wasn't the best so we were happy we had the cabin. It was very cozy, clean, well appointed and our family of five and golden retriever had plenty of room to lounge and move around. The kids had a blast running around the trails exploring the area. We also ran into the host at their tent at the Red Wing Farmers Market which was pretty awesome! We picked up a rack of ribs which we grilled that night and it was amazing (she threw in a chicken foot treat for our dog who loved it). All in all it was a fantastic quick getaway and Darla is a great host. We will be back again sometime down the road!

Weekend Trip to Stone Creek Farm

Dan’s property is very nice-close to many fun activities in the area. Rain boots were a must due to recent rain. Tent was dry, very spacious and comfortable. The hike to the site was doable for myself and elementary aged kids but it’s a solid 10-15 minute walk - through mud and puddles (we had proper footwear so we didn’t mind!) We had pretty great weather and luckily the mosquitoes were not too bad but I would imagine that can change depending on the temps/weather. Bring your fav bug spray, rain boots, plenty of flashlights and you’re in good shape. Great to meet you Dan! -Claire

Camping on this property was an excellent experience (despite the rain). Dan was very helpful both before and when we arrived. The campsite is lovely, and he's made sure the yurt does not let in a drop. Loved seeing his chickens, and an easy walk to the site. Would absolutely recommend.

Serenity Valley was everything we hoped for and more! The fresh air, wide open views, and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect escape. The cabin was incredibly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up — it felt simple but just right. We loved being surrounded by nature, and the deer heads inside added a fun, rustic touch. It was quiet, relaxing, and just what we needed to reset. We’ll definitely be back!

3 nights at Belle Creek Bluff

2nd time here at the Bluff. Very secluded besides having a few campers cross the creek and were in the meadow next to the cabin. Firewood has a great price at $1.00 per log, Venmo made it super easy to pay. Definitely will be coming back, thanks again JT.

Weekend Trip to Twin Folk Farms

We loved the beautiful and private cabin in the woods. The trails were a fun little adventure, and we even got to help feed the bottle lambs with Darla one morning. So fun for us city dwellers. Our 8 year old son loved the loft and I loved not having to go outside in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (thank you!). Plus, the beds were comfortable. HUGE WIN. We all had two good nights of sleep. Thank you Twin Oak Farms!

Dan was SO welcoming and kind! The entire farm was gorgeous and filled with love, from the orchards to the campsites and beyond. Dan is eager to make you feel at home and does everything he can to make sure you have whatever you need. He even let me use his WiFi when I needed to take a business call. The campsite was easy to find with an mostly flat, mowed path. The site was quiet and personal, with everything one could think of: our own compostable toilet, a grill, fire pit, garbage & recycling cans, a picnic basket, and a sturdy box to keep your foodstuffs safe. I can't wait to go back, I feel like I found a little slice of paradise just an hour away ❤️ thank you Dan!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful, quiet spot. Really fun to brave the creek crossing and then find such a lovely, tranquil spot. Well kept and comfortable (as much as a rustic cabin can be!) Our dog even loved getting to run around and sniff to her heart's content. Would definitely recommend this spot and would love to return.

We loved our stay in the RV Penny, and would definitely recommend. Nicole is the best host I've ever encountered (and that's normally a thing that stands out to me); she made everything so easy and was incredibly responsive. She even had a birthday gift waiting for our daughter because I'd mentioned we were celebrating her 5th bday. Penny is adorable and clean and has everything you could need--honestly, just bring your clothes. I thought it might feel complicated rent a camper and then find a site and coordinate everything getting set up, but Nicole took care of it all and it couldn't have been easier. I highly recommend!

Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! Previously a 100 acre century farm, this fertile land was tended to by generations of old time farmers. Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep. The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures via real phone numbers accessed only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure. We are a 100% smoke and pet (all animals) free property. We also do not allow any events, parties or children.
