Take a hot shower and sleep in a comfortable bed- all for less than a hotel room! It’s like glamping.
**We do require a photo of a valid government ID from all members of your party, immediately after booking. The host will tell you how to send this. If not received within the specified time frame, your booking will be cancelled and you will not receive check in information.
This property:
Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with access to dock* (*May -September), lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Your private bath and a shared, comfortable TV room is inside house. Your guest room is a private space. Mystic Lake Casino and Amphitheater, Canterbury Downs, Renaissance Fest, Valley Fair, many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's.
The price per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the room, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night.
A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation.
All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking).
The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking.
Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our self check in procedure.
We are a non smoking, non vape, no party/no unregistered guest, owner occupied property. No children and quiet people only. Please note you will be walking outside up and down an outdoor staircase / small hill to access restroom &;parking

Your own private Basecamp, every month of the year. Book it and all 20 acres are yours alone: prairie, woods, a fishing stream, zero neighbors.
Sleep 10+ inside the barn, camp-style (no private bedrooms), pitch tents anywhere on the 20 acre site, hook up your camper outside, or pull the camper straight INSIDE our heated and air-conditioned building through a 14-foot door.
Sauna, basic gym, pickleball, basketball, shuffleboard, 85" OLED, Starlink, patio and firepit, indoor wood fireplace. One group at a time- always.
THE BARN — One big, finished great room: in-floor heat for winter, AC for summer, and a wood-burning fireplace for ambiance. Five convertible sofa-beds sleep 10 — each sets up as a king or splits into two singles (five kings for couples’ trips, ten singles for the hunt crew). All bedding included. Straight talk: these are practical, well-padded convertible beds — genuinely comfortable for camp, not luxury hotel mattresses. Sleeping is open lodge-style in the open space; there are no private bedrooms. Plenty of room for additional air mattresses or cots to be set up in the 7800 sq ft open space. If your crew’s perfect night is everyone crashed around the fireplace after a big day outside, you’ll love it here. If you need a pillow-top king behind a locked door, we’re not your spot and we’d rather tell you now than disappoint you when you arrive.
RECOVER & PLAY — Infrared sauna (unreal after a cold sit or a pickleball battle). Gym corner with elliptical, free weights, kettlebells, and resistance bands. Attached air-conditioned sport court with pickleball, basketball hoop, ping pong — paddles and balls included — plus a 65" OLED and Sonos sound. Also a 16-foot shuffleboard table, two-player Ms. Pac-Man arcade table, 85" OLED, and Sonos with a QSC sub that means it. Starlink wifi throughout.
EAT WELL — Full kitchen for group cooking, big table for group meals, natural gas grill on the front porch. Evenings end around the wood-burning firepit.
CAMP YOUR WAY — Outdoor camper hookup with hoses included to connect fresh water and on-site sewer dump when it's time to leave, plus indoor camper parking in the heated building for cold-weather trips. Ample open ground for tents outside.
THE LAND — 20 private acres: mowed trails, big skies, deer and turkeys everywhere. Hunt the property in season, shotgun, rifle, or bow. The stream fishes well - northern, walleye, bass, and plenty of rough fish for bowfishing (water levels vary; dry spells in the summer can lead to low water levels that can degrade fishing opportunity)
Please note, for the max occupancy listed of 20 people, the assumption is that people will bring campers or set up outdoor tents. There is not sleeping accomodation for 20 people inside the barn.

This was exactly what I was looking for. The property (and expected experience) is accurately described.
The property, including the cottage/camping area is bordered by trees and brush on two sides and the lake (with a dense growth of cattails) on the third.
Even though cottage/camping area is technically a spacious "backyard" I did feel like I was camping. The "cottage" is pretty much the size of an Expedition tent.
I stayed for five nights. I precooked my meals and home intending to heat them over the fire but ended using the microwave instead.
For this time year (late October) this is good option. If the weather gets nasty (too cold or even snow) the "cottage" is a wonderful backup.

Cozy Cottage is quaint and very private. It's essentially a little cabin is a spacious backyard with private boardwalk access to the lake. The cabin was clean and had thoughtful touches to make the stay more enjoyable like a window A/C and portable space heater. There was a ceiling fan as well, and with the screened windows, made for a cozy evening. The bed is very, very soft. The access to the private, modern full bath was a quick minute walk from the cabin. If you want a campfire there's practically unlimited fire wood. We enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet getaway we hoped for.

Lisa was very warm and welcoming.
The cottage was cozy, quiet and peaceful. I stayed a few days and loved waking up in the comfortable bed, sunrise and beautiful sounds of nature (without being completely in nature).
Tips:
Take the time to read the instructions. She has thought it all through. And if there is something not considered she was very accommodating.
The fridge is small but I made a stop at Trader Joes and purchased some small snacks; fruits and veggies, including 3 little frozen meals and they all fit.
This little cottage will be a regular in my local getaways.

The Cozy Lakeside Cottage is a gem. My fiance and I had a great time staying there. We enjoyed the quite, the fishing nearby, the night time sky. Lisa is a great host, and responds promptly should you have any questions. The amenities provided are above and beyond. This place is like out of a story book. Will be visiting the cottage "aka" gem, again. The Whiskey Inferno is a great place to dine, if looking for some great food.

Incredible hosts, from the reservation to the end. We were looking for a nice quiet place to get away nearby for our 19th anniversary, we were greeted with a bottle of my favorite wine, cup cakes and anniversary candles. The host was helpful, answered all the questions, went above and beyond to make our stay special, they were friendly and welcoming, gave us the privacy we wanted and yet made us feel welcomed and invited. The property is absolutely beautiful, clean, decoration is amazing, the lake is quiet, neighbors are friendly as well and the dogs are adorable ❤️ We will go back and recommend 100%. Thank you for making our anniversary memorable and special.

By far the most beautiful place within hours of the area! The waterfalls and the sandstone cliffs covered in moss and carved with hundreds of names make for a beautiful place for photos. Although it is not recommended to swim in the water due to bacterium fecalia (bacteria coming from animal feces) we swam in it a few months ago and so far we are perfectly fine! As long as you have no open sores I would definitely take a dip!
