3 nights at Hay Lake Basecamp Canvas Tent

We had a wonderful relaxing time. The view was beautiful and we loved hearing the lake sounds at night.

1 night at Oak Park Nature Nook

Fantastic! We have been on the road camping for a month and a half, and Rick said this was his favorite site of all. No hookups, no road noise, just nature, and an amazing variety of birds, including at least one rare one (loggerhead shrike). So peaceful, and such gracious hosts. Left us some wood by the picnic table at the site. Would definitely come back and definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Wise Woods on Fool Lake

What a great piece of lake property to camp! After a short drive up a wooded path you are greeted by a lovely piece of wooded lake heaven with open vista to the lake. The property has an elevated area where we put our Chalet and two tents. This is where the outhouse is located as well. The property has a partial "road" down to the lake where you can tell some people may have driven. Not steep however. There is a flat area by the lake where a fun two person swinging bench is located and large fire pit. Fools Lake is clean and clear for swimming and kaying, my favs. We were in the lake all the time. I enjoyed the ease of steps into the lake. There is a sandy bottom with some rocks (wear your water shoes) but so easy to lauch your canoe or kayaks. There is a large dock as well. This property is well hiden for privacy. Quiet. Beautiful. We will return.

Cozy spot, beautiful area. Was just passing through MN and it was a great place to spend a quiet evening. Definitely recommend. A couple notes, I didn't have cell service out there so make sure to record the directions and instructions before you arrive. Also, wish I would have taken them up on a couple of those firewood bundles to quiet the mosquitoes.

Staying at what I would call an art installation during a heat wave made our weekend at Cayuna a trip to never be forgotten! Finding solace in an AC shelter was an amazing experience in 90° weather. I will definitely come here again!

Beautiful property with trees, open spaces and a gushing river this time of year. The property is really well looked after with clearly marked campsites and fire pits. We lost cell service in town so make sure you review the directions beforehand or it may take a little longer to find your way. Carl was a good communicator and kept us well informed prior to our arrival and even came over with a bottle of plum wine (harvested from his property) to share. We would definitely stay here again. Excellent spot!

Let’s talk amenities: queen bed with fluffy blankets, games for when you’re feeling competitive, fairy lights for that romantic glow, clean water, an actually clean bathroom (a unicorn in the camping world), kayaks, a canoe, and firewood ready to go. But wait—there’s a dock for lounging like you're in a rom-com, and the local wildlife... Adorable. Curious frogs, chatty birds, and a mouse or two living their best forest-core lives. 🐭🛶✨ Honestly? 15/10. Don’t question it. Book it, show up, and try not to fall in love (with the place or your person… or both). 😏🔥🌿🛶

We loved the container cabin! We have a family of 4 it was tight but we made it work. First time in a bathroom like that didn't expect the shower to be hot but it definitely was! Very peaceful yet close enough to bike to everything.

This is a private spot. Only you and your set up. It’s a beautiful lake and a nice set of stairs to the lake. There’s a wonderful wood swing over looking the lake. There’s aLao a picnic table and a big fire pit. I’d recommend your own toilet set up if possible. It was wonderful! 10/10 I’d come again

Very relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful wildlife! Fantastic location and easy drive to casino, museum, and state park. The fire pit and wood provided was so nice. Nicely manicured lawn & plenty of privacy. We had a very nice time here & would return.

4 nights at Wise Woods on Fool Lake

What a great spot! Our 16 foot Scamp was really easy to get in and out. Quiet and private-we really enjoyed it. We kayaked and swam and enjoyed the view and the nature-also had fun exploring Crosby and lunch at the Bridge Tavern. We will definitely come back next year! Thank you Jackie, for sharing your space!

Excellent weekend! Bugs were minimal and fish bit decent right from camp. They definitely have been improving the road in, as we had no issues with cars and small suv's. We overly enjoyed our stay!

Located at the end of a private road on Fool Lake with wooded mature trees that offer privacy. The lake is quiet and calm. Fool Lake is a private, environmental lake, with many varieties of fish. Perfect for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and swimming. Boating is allowed up to 40 hp via gated private launch (no tubing or skiing). The land slopes to the lake where you will find small dock and a few stairs into the water. Well for water and electricity available including a 30 amp hookup for RV campers. Large outhouse also has electricity. Minutes away from access to Cuyuna trails, Crosby, and Emily, as well as nearby Nisswa and Crosslake. This central location offers access to any and all amenities. After a day on the trails, in town, or on the water, an evening at the fire pit overlooking the lake is a perfect way to end the day. Wind down, relax and enjoy the trees, lake and nature surrounding you. We expect all guests to respect the neighborhood, lake and nature! **November to early spring the water access will be winterized and NOT available for use. Any winter camping is at your own digression and snow removal will only be provided on the neighborhood road(s) up to the entrance of the site. This property can accommodate recreational vehicles and RV's under 40ft (comfortably). It is highly suitable for campers or water goers who like to be closer to nature. You will find there are a couple seasonal neighbors further up the road that are known by myself and considered kind individuals who keep to themselves.
