Our work has been featured on the Food Network and in national publications. Noreen, our lead farmer, was honored as the first woman to receive the University of Minnesota’s prestigious Siehl Lifetime Achievement Award.

This is a working organic farm with chickens, vegetables, and grains. You'll find wide open spaces, vibrant sunsets, a clear view of the stars at night, and a peaceful river nearby. Green Island is an unexpected pine forest located actually inside a small town in northcentral Minnesota. The camping area is incredibly private and surrounds a small pond. It is primitive with minimal amenities beyond an outhouse and hand pump for water. Accessibility is only for tenting or truly tiny camper vehicles. The campground is a huge semi-shaded space for up to 20 tents, still, we prefer 1 or 2 at a time. However, larger group retreats are possible.
We are serious environmentalists and we offer this opportunity just for true nature lovers as singles or couples, who totally take care of themselves, leave absolutely no trace, and are solid environmental stewards. In other words, its no place for a party.
Separate from the campground there are: apple orchards, outdoor sculptures, wildlife, a meditation kuti, and perfect spaces for forest therapy. Yet almost unbelieveably, you can walk to a Pizza Hut or Walmart in 5 minutes.
This is an excellent staging point for outdoors people en route to Itasca State Park, The Lost Fourty, and the state and national forests of the north.

Noreen was incredibly sweet and super helpful for the next day forecast and best routes to navigate the next couple of days. Wonderful bread and eggs, perfect for a quick breakfast as we left at the crack of day for our RV service.
Also wonderful nice dogs, was my morning walk around entertainment before driving off.

We loved our experience at Doubting Thomas! Noreen was an excellent host, very welcoming and super engaging. We really enjoyed hearing about her work and the farm and got excellent recommendations for fun things to do during our visit to Fargo. The spot is beautiful, excellent star-gazing at night, and fun to see the chickens running around. We will definitely be back on our next trip up there!

Noreen was a WONDERFUL host! She welcomed us with a dozen eggs accompanied by her guardian dog, Max (who is super friendly as well!). She helped us get settled, had a clean Porto potty, educated some on her farming practices, and pointed us in a good direction to stretch our legs after the long drive. Definitely recommend!

Noreen was an amazing hostess. The area is a beautiful working farm with a friendly farm dog and chickens running around. Nice shaded area. Amazingly quiet and with a nice sky at night. Noreen even brought us fresh eggs and homemade bread.

Such a lovely stay! Beautiful farm lands and felt very safe. Noreen was such a sweet host that went above and beyond with welcoming us, showing us around the farm, and giving us some delicious fresh home baked bread with organic farm fresh eggs for breakfast. What a treat this stay was. Highly recommend!
