In one half of the cabin, which faces the woods, you'll find beautiful knotty pine vaulted ceilings over a queen bed with a loft above it. In the little loft are two twin-sized mattresses directly on the floor, fun for kids and accessible by a wooden ladder. Kids should be at least 6 years old to sleep up in the loft and closely supervised. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and cold water. Relax in the lakeside half of the cabin on the queen-sized hide-a-bed sofa or the recliner next to a wall of windows facing the lake. There's also a stove, small refrigerator, microwave oven, a sink with cold water, and a small table with 4 chairs. Outside, enjoy a peaceful campfire in the fire pit, listen to the enchanting calls of loons, watch eagles and herons fishing, and relax while enjoying the vast variety of songbirds. At night, our dark skies let you see the Milky Way and countless stars and planets! Paul has a really comfortable place, beautiful location on a quiet shallow small lake. There is a canoe, and many other entertainment opportunities are there onsite or nearby. it is a quiet spot, enough room for small family and pet to shar with Paul and his dog Piper as i did. i wish I had a few more days to enjoy, but i'll be back!

Paul’s Lakeside Cottage is such a lovely peaceful relaxing retreat. The views of the lake are stunning!! Paul and Piper were so kind and welcoming. We hiked his property, explored the nearby forest and small towns nearby, and of course a nightly campfire-we heard loons and owls. We usually tent camp so this was a treat-Paul has everything you need! I highly recommend!!!!!!

I brought my 3 dogs up to Paul's for a much needed getaway and I honestly can't wait to go back (sans dogs at least once). Piper was there to greet me as soon as I opened my car door and she is such a sweetheart! The views are goegeous, the hiking is a ton of fun with cool stuff to find, that stars are beautiful, the wildlife is fun to admire. I was able to listen to a loon, saw and heard my first raven in person, and watched a great blue heron that likes to feed out on the lake every day. There's definitely a reason all his reviews are absolutely glowing.

I can’t say enough good things or hardly pick my favorite. Enjoyed spending time on the lake, letting the dogs jump off the dock, and renting the EBikes for a day. Paul is very kind, responsive, and eager to help guests as needed. Great place, we will be back!

We wanted a couple of days lakeside, and booking Debbie & Steve's guest cabin was just the ticket. The cabin was clean and comfy. We especially enjoyed all the lakeview windows. A few steps and we were on the water with our kayaks to enjoy the loons, gulls, heron, hummingbirds, and more, followed by a campfire dinner. It was Minnesota nature at its best with friendly hosts who stopped by to greet us and ask if we needed anything. We're definitely spreading the word about this little gem. :)

A great hipcamp spot & Paul is a wonderful host! If you are looking for quiet and solitude, this is the place. No traffic noise or other campers to what can otherwise spoil a desirable camping experience. Paul even showed me around his land and the neighboring area and gave me recommendations for local live music. I highly recommend a visit to Paul's place!

This was my first experience with a Hipcamp rental and I am extremely happy! The cabin was lovely, clean and has every thing I needed not to mention a full view of the loons on the lake. The queen size bed was super comfortable too. My hosts were incredible and even took me on a boat ride. I will return to this cabin very soon! I give it a ten star rating! ⭐️

We loved this charming cabin! The location is amazing, down such a beautiful road and looking out at a peaceful lake. We loved the fresh wood smell of the cabin and really appreciated having a coffee pot available! It was the perfect place to disconnect and unwind for the weekend with friendly and gracious hosts!

Even though the cabin was stocked for cooking, we like to rough it a little.

My husband and I spent about a week at Paul's for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Paul is a great host and his dog Piper is just one of the sweetest. While we did explore a little of the near by towns and areas we mostly just stayed at the cabin and enjoyed the quiet. It was so incredibly peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Paul and Piper, hope to see you again every year for our anniversary!

Beautiful spot, super friendly host. Was easy to find, the AC was a surprise bonus. Well stocked cabin and kitchen, everything you could need. Paul was friendly and helpful, would highly recommend and hopefully return one day! Only note is we had planned on swimming, but the lily pads and weeds are thick this time of year, so plan for that if needed.

Paul’s cabin is nice and simple. Beautiful land and lake access. We saw loons, herons and heard lots of other birds each evening and morning. The cabin had the essentials we needed and Paul was very hospitable.
