Oak Park Nature Nook

1 site · RV, Tent36 acres · Oak Park, MN
Set on 36 acres we have a campsite back away from the house so you can have your own private area to camp! We have several maintained trails for walking or biking. Two small ponds on the property, one of which usually has turtles and the other brings in ducks, geese, deer and other wildlife. Eagles and cranes are often seen flying overhead. We do have a few hobby farm animals on the property that would love a visit from you if you request it for your stay. We are now offering our out house to our guests if needed, shown in the picture gallery. The outhouse is located closer to the resident's property, and you will have to go into our gated duck area to get to it. Milaca is about 10 miles away with great parks, biking trails, splash pad, Rum River and Frisbee golf. Foley is about 7 miles away and has a great family pool for summertime and nice parks. We are also about 25 minutes from St. Cloud if you want to venture further!

Crooked Arbor Cottage & Gardens

2 sites · Lodging1 acre · Pine City, MN
Midway between the Twin Cities and Duluth, an ideal getaway. A semi-rustic stay dawns with the next-door rooster's crow, then walk the meditation circle; swing in hammocks; admire sunrise and sunset from the Cottage or front stoop; consume in-season veggies/herbs or preserved foods; play yard games; build a campfire; walk on walking path at the front of the driveway, which will take you to the Snake River; or road trip to nearby parks. Perfect for writers/artists; nature lovers; and those desiring rest, respite, and reprieve. PLEASE READ to be sure the Cottage is the right fit for you :). You might consider it ‘camping with comforts’: o The one-room, 250-square-foot tiny cottage, is located in my backyard, behind the house, next to the gardens, and holds the following: • a writer's/artist's nook, brightened by a woodsy view from the Emily Dickinson-ish desk • an intimate kitchenette with Breville air fryer, two-burner cooktop, cookware, and staples (many harvested from the gardens) • a living area with sofa (futon), beverage station, and games • a lofted reading nook that seconds as a cozier-than-ever bed ((cozy means COZY - long legs may have to slightly bend due to the slanting of the roof (I’m 5’ 9” and fit well); two people in the loft will sleep near and dear)) ~Together, the loft and futon SNUGGLY, SNUGGLY sleep up to four o The Cottage’s porch will greet you, and you may find solitude in the back, taking in the maple-ash-oak view o The shed behind the Cottage has outdoor games, such as corn-hole bags and Yahtzee, and the sandbox has a handful of toys o During the cooler months, the Cottage is kept toasty by the electric fireplace and a small, but mighty, space heater, and in the warmer months, it is cooled by the window air conditioner o The Cottage DOES NOT have running water; though, a filled vessel will be ready for you o The bathroom facilities are limited to the porta-potty located about 100 feet from the Cottage (please see images); there IS NOT a shower, and again, no running water o Pets are welcome; however, I do request that dogs are on leash as I have grand-dogs who visit often and to ensure my neighbors’ properties are respected - if you are bringing your pet(s), please select the Pet Cleaning Fee in Extras
