Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. This property is the perfect location to stop and relax while you are traveling on the White Pine Trail. We have cabins and campsites with water and electricity. It is centrally located between Grand Rapids and Cadillac. We offer river access, kayaking, bathrooms, showers, and a dump station. This is an old church camp with 14 different buildings. There is a trail that goes down to the river. My goal is to restore all of the buildings to what they once were. I encourage you to come and investigate before it's all done. Each site has a fixed in place fire-ring with cooking grate and 8-foot picnic table. Parking area, Food Truck, Biergarten and Farm Market are walk-able to on the property. Portable Toilet serviced weekly and potable water is central to the sites. Trash containers with trash bags are at each site. NO HOOK-UPS ARE AVAILABLE. Expect NO or LIMITED cellular service.
One Travel Trailer or up to Three Tents accommodated per site. Sites are flat with moss/grass on sand terrain. One vehicle allowed on each site, parking lot for additional vehicles is available.
This is a PEACEFUL AREA with loud music, noise and entertainment DISCOURAGED. QUIET HOURS ARE 11PM - 8AM DAILY. CONTINUOUS USE OF GENERATORS IS DISCOURAGED.
Weather is typical for West Michigan with occasional winds and rain, we are on sandy terrain so ponding is very limited. WILDLIFE regularly includes Deer, Turkeys, Raccoons and Possum. Black Bear sightings are rare but not a common occurrence.

A-1 place to camp! Excellent stay for the week. Flat campsites with plenty of space to spread out, but enough trees for shade. Private, but close to the (incredibly clean) flush toilet and running water. Laurie was welcoming and generous, making us feel right at home.

Every time I go to Doriath Springs, I fall more in love with it. The grounds are beautiful, perfectly maintained. The spillway and creek are delightful, the flowers are beautiful, and the river is so pretty.
The hill down to the campsites is kind of steep, so either pack super light or bring a wagon- or both. But it's totally worth it!
Sarah is the perfect hostess. She's there if you need her, but not intrusive at all.
Town is close, there's a really good ice cream place nearby, and even though you're not too far from civilization, you're completely isolated from it.

Laurie’s hipcamp is a great place to stay. She was very attentive and is a great source of local info. It is clear that improvements continue to be made with new cooking grates for the fire pits. And the bathroom situation is great as well.

I had a great time solo camping on Beth & Jeff's land!
10/10 would recommend, I felt safe the entire time & like I had the whole place to myself, I didn't actually meet Beth or Jeff but they were communicative, sent me a map of the sites & let me know to bring bug spray for the skooters, Also there's an older negative review that claims the owner has cameras up, that's not true, those are solar powered motion lights so you don't twist an ankle walking to the garbage can. Don't be fooled by the central location, yes it's close & convenient to a bunch of cool stuff to do BUT it really does offer that "out in the woods away from civilization" vibe campers look for, it doesn't feel (or sound) like you're just 5 minutes away from the city. The bird watching was also amazing and I woke up to see a few ground squirrels playing a game of tag, so cute.
The cons, which are totally normal nature things & not real cons at all, the first site right past the water pump has a ton of brambles around the edges & a little resident copperhead, out of the way but something to keep in mind if you're bringing any little humans, maybe skip that one & move to the next spot over, the other sites I walked to didn't seem to have quite as many brambles though. Bring your bug spray, the mosquitoes are out - my hosts forwarded me though so I had my spray and my mosquito net for my hammock ready.

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
We absolutely adored our stay in the treehouse and were thrilled to watch the farm animals munching away in all the different pastures! Plus, being JRR Tolkien fans, it was a real treat to see the hobbit hole under construction! And with the lake right there, we had a blast getting our paddle boards in the water!

We didn't get to meet with the host Jim, though did talk with some of his awesome employees that greeted us and made us feel welcome. We can tell that the host has many irons in the fire, everywhere we looked there was ground worked in gardens and all through besides the hops garden being the center of attention, even the camp sites had new blueberry plants.
Firewood was stocked at our roomy campsite when we arrived and there was plenty of room to position our little camper but room also for a larger rig. Site comes with a fire ring that was equipped with a swinging grate and a sturdy picnic table, and water in a big bucket to extinguish the fire.
A big bonus is the porta john with a hand wash station, the necessary paper and soap. Of course just nearby are blueberry plants on the path which cover the two-track drive in and walkways.
We didn't take time to enjoy the food truck while there during our stay but there is a nice heated tent and a fire pit that would make a nice way to enjoy the food. Nice also that the camping is separated from the food truck and store. The walk out to the front of the property from camping has a nice herb garden to walk through near the main road.
Inside information = the donkeys may not come see you unless you bring their favorite, cucumbers for treats!
Cool property well worth the money spent and perfect for an rv plus very nice mossy ground for tents also. Just know there is no electric or water at the campsites.

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Ed was very welcoming, thoughtful and communicative. He greeted us upon arrival and gave a quick run down of the cabin/land. He even had a fire already started in the cabin as it was a bit chilly.
The grand cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was comfy and the portapotty was clean. There was no one else there when we were there so it was really private. A lovely place to unplug and unwind in nature.
There is plenty of clean water and firewood. There were also a few spices, tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee. There is a pan and grate for outdoor cooking but I suggest bringing a pot, utensils and cooking tools!
