***For the preservation of our property, our septic system, the privacy of other campers, all arrivals MUST be prior to dark setting in. If you can't see the signs & posts, you can damage our property AND your vehicle/equipment. All campers must arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. (This time limit will change throughout the season.)
*The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox.
*A small creek runs across the back of the property.
*There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking.
*Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake.
*Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite.
*Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house.
*Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee).
*Pets are allowed, max of 2 total (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max).
*Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. There are numerous places nearby to gather instead. This assures maximum privacy for all sites and for our family.

The rolling land is 1/2 forest/wetlands and 1/2 fields, making it a biodiverse hot spot for plants, animals, and fungi. Nature abounds at Nature and Nurture Farm so come enjoy our private camping spots.

LARGE GROUPS - We are hosting events! Graduation parties, small weddings, family reunions, you name it. You can rent the whole campground for a day a night, a weekend, or a whole week if that suits your need. Just send us a message and we can talk about it. We can also accommodate large groups at a single campsite or you can rent several of them. Our primary guideline is that if your event will be held while other campers are here, it cannot disturb them. So, consider renting the whole campground.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please plan to arrive and set up camp between 3 and 9 PM. If you are planning to arrive after 9 PM, please send us a message letting us know. We decide on a case by case basis since we prefer not to have late arrivals. Overview:
Our beautiful 10 acre farm and homestead is situated between Ann Arbor and Dexter not far from the Huron River. The 5 acre area where our campsites are located is wooded with mature oak, maple, walnut, elm, and white pine trees. We're isolated and surrounded by wild areas and natural farm land but just a 10 minute drive to restaurants, groceries, fuel, and other amenities. The Ann Arbor area is home to a huge array of world class events from the Ark music venue to National Champions Michigan home football games and a whole lot more. Downtown Ann Arbor or Dexter or Chelsea is only a 15 minute car drive. White Lotus Farms, which has a wonderful farm market on Saturdays from 9 - 2 and Wednesdays from 9 - 1, is a 10 minute walk down our dirt road. If you forget to bring something that you need, don't hesitate to ask! We've got a growing number of camping essentials for rent or sale for very reasonable prices that can make your stay even more enjoyable: from bug repellants to camp chairs, potable water in 2.5 - 5 gallon containers, and more.
NEW IN 2025 we have installed a hose with potable water near the entrance to the campground for your convenience.

We have a toilet at the Creekside campsite, but no potable water. There is firewood available for purchase at each site.
We pride ourselves on our biodiversity, especially of birds and insects, and therefore maintain serval large wetlands and do not use chemical treatments in our campsites or woods. However, this means you should be prepared for a significant number of mosquitoes.

We spent two nights tent camping at Earthwell, and it ended up being exactly what my two boys (ages 9 and 5) needed.
Earthwell feels like a place that encourages you to slow down, unplug, and reconnect with nature. We explored the trails, swam in the pond, paddled, relaxed on the island dock, and enjoyed a sunset campfire.
Nature put on a show just for the kids. We were visited by cranes, deer, turtles, toads, a "pond lobster", a barn cat, and fish that would actually swim right up to my son when he stood quietly in the water. That simple connection with the natural world was incredibly therapeutic.
I watched my youngest catch fireflies for the very first time. As darkness fell, the entire property came alive with thousands of tiny lights.
The Common House was perfect for a short break. We met another wonderful couple from K-zoo. Terrence offered us bug spray when the very expected bugs made their evening appearance. Little gestures like that made us feel cared for.
What stood out most, though, was that Earthwell feels loved. You can sense the history, intention, and care that have gone into stewarding this property. It feels like a place with a purpose, where people genuinely want others to experience the peace and healing that comes from spending time in nature.
If I can convince my wife that a little more time in the woods is a good thing, we'll absolutely be back.

This was a perfect Hipcamp site to unwind and reconnect with nature! The giant oak tree watching over this site is a must see. The site is very well groomed, private and peaceful. The first night camping here lent to a steady rain into the next morning... there was no flooding. A very well thought out site for comfort. The hiking trails are breathtaking, so with a vering landscape. This is going to be my birthday camp site this year.

This site already has lots of good reviews that all proved true, so I’ll just add one more thing from my perspective. I went camping here as a solo female camper, which means I’m extra vigilant about my safety. I loved the fact that Michael meets all campers upon arrival, has them sign paperwork, and communicates very quickly. It made me feel much more at ease during my stay.

We loved camping at Carl’s Hipcamp! Carl was super welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Hickory Hollows was super private and was had plenty of shade under the trees. Having the option to purchase firewood was very convenient and the fire pit was nice and big. This spot is only 25 minutes from Michigan International Speedway and provided the perfect location for our race weekend. Highly recommend for a private camping getaway!
