We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Buckeye and Lexi can be visited while they graze in the pasture. There's also Turk the turkey and his flock of chickens. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have three dogs that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe.

Site 2 - Rusty's Retreat
The sites were a big enough I was able to set up my tailgate tent for car camping and the area is quiet and away from the road.
I would definitely consider this spot the next time I am camping in the area!
Thanks Jay!

Riverside relaxation
Jay was a great host with amazing vision for his property. The sites along the river were lovely. They were private with great little trails to hike and wander.

Site 1 - Rusty's RV Retreat
I arrived after dark and Jay and his wife greeted me very warmly. They showed me a bit of their Airbnb and the great view. Jay took time in the morning to help me with my van a bit and teach me some new things about RV/van life. Their kindness made my drive home feel much safer. Definitely recommend.

Site 3 - Rusty's Retreat
The owners met us when we got there and walked us to our site. I didn't realize we had to walk our gear in at the site we reserved, but he offered to put it on his cart and haul in and or out if we needed it. (I declined, because to me, that's part of the experience!) SUPER friendly folks and a clean and secluded spot. Some sites you can drive right up to, but some are walk in. They have a small farm with ducks, cow named Rusty, chickens and a couple mini horses who my dog and I got to meet on one of our walks through a short trail on the property. We had fun!

Site 1 - Rusty's RV Retreat
Nothing but good vibes from the hosts! They were cool enough to get a fire going for me before I arrived as I was a bit behind schedule and the sun had already set and even gave a little golf cart tour of their property as a bonus.
Would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend anyone in the area or traveling through nearby to stop and crash here.
Sites are all pretty private and the grounds are great with a little river running right through the property and some trails to go wandering on.
Thanks again and look forward to coming back with the family!

Site 104 - Rusty's RV Retreat
We absolutely loved tent camping on Jay's land at Rusty's RV retreat. Rusty the cow and his friends at the farm were a real treat!! The tour of the land, all the trails to wander around in, the creek running alongside camp, the beautiful flowers, the old barn and silos, and the hosts Jay and Heather made this the most amazing camp experience ever for our family of six!!! We Loved it all!!
Thank you to Jay and Heather for sharing your beautiful place and wonderful hospitality!!
