Rustic it may be but the use of quiet generators are allowed and we are pet friendly. We have a community field with games and a fire pit to use. Self-contained trailers are welcome (no hookups yet). Tahquamenon Falls, Kitchitikipi, Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, and the Mackinac Bridge all within an hours drive. Very quiet property. Pets welcomed but must be on a leash and attended at all times. Bars, restaurants, and dispensaries near by. Please note: This is not a campground. There are not designated sites. There are 4 areas on the property to camp. Two are within two feet from the beach, while the remaining two are about 50’ from the beach but have full views of the lake. We have approximately 400’ of lake frontage. These sites are in my yard. Welcome to a rare Lake Superior sand beach property, overlooking Whitefish Bay. This partially wooded site, set back from the main road 250’, offers privacy while also being within the boundaries of the small community of Paradise. Restaurants, groceries and food trucks are a short walk away. The beach or the stair’s viewing deck offer a great spot to watch the sun rise over the lake while having your morning brew. You can pick wild blueberries in July and August in the woods between your camper and the beach. We are close to Tahquamenon (Tuh-KWA-men-en) Falls, Tahquamenon River, Whitefish Point Shipwreck Museum, Crisp Point Lighthouse, and Rivermouth State campground/day park for boat launching and fishing. Potable water and 15/30 amp electric service are available. Since there are no bathroom facilities, we are accepting only self contained campers. I have a few areas on the property that You can use to suit your needs. you can tent camp or vehicle camp at some and park and walk about 100 feet or so and tent camp only. there is power and water available on the property but not at each site. I am developing this into a place for camping slowly and that's why i only have a few areas as of right now. Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms to use yet. Update: gps for maps is in correct and takes to to neighbors driveway and home . The mail box for this place is blue and has a red address Tag and a sign that says Sailors Sky. Please turn immediately at mailbox. It has caused problems with having people on neighbors property with flashlights and police being called due to incorrect gsuspicious activity.

Shivering Timbers is a lovely, quiet campground. The sites are flat and open but somehow each site is secluded by pine trees. It is just 3 miles from Lower Tequamenon Falls to the West and 7 miles from Paradise to the East. Each site has a campfire 'ring' and Tim sells wood. We would highly recommend this campground.

Tim was our first experience with Hipcamp. If Tim is an example of what we can expect from other hosts (after careful scrutiny), we will be loyal customers. Tim, if you see these comments, please pass on a suspicious event to Hipcamp management----The VERY day we signed up with Hipcamp, our cell phone was bombed for about 10 days with spam calls. Finally, by blocking each call, it suddenly returned to the usual level of junk phone calls. Perhaps Hipcamp was hacked???

The state park pales in comparison to the this wonderful campground! Stephanie and her family put love into what they do and it shows. The grounds were so well kept, the atmosphere was relaxing, and Stephanie was warm and welcoming! She shared stories, local treasures to go see, and was a delight to talk about life with. Her kids help around the camp and have the best firewood service I’ve seen!! This is a rustic campground (which we prefer. It keeps the normies away), but they have well kept porta potties and if you need a shower the state park is a few minutes down the road and offers showers for cheap. All around, this is a fantastic family environment that is growing beautifully! We will never go back to the crowded state park after finding this gem!

Site 5 was large, flat and private. Shivering Timbers is a great alternative if you can’t find a spot at the state park. Campground was quiet, firewood was for sale. Tim and Stephanie came around and introduced themself to everyone. Would recommend for your next trip to the UP.

This is a perfect spot to stay on your visit to the Upper Peninsula. It is conveniently located near a grocery store, convenience stores, and restaurants. Unfortunately, the food trucks were not open while we were there. You are a few short steps from the water on White Fish Bay and a sandy beach. We will definitely stay here again.
