This cozy cabin in the woods was exactly the peaceful getaway we needed. The starry nights, crackling campfires, and quiet walks through the forest with our dog made the stay unforgettable. The cabin itself was warm, welcoming, and full of thoughtful touches, especially the welcoming basket waiting for us. The propane gas fireplace kept us perfectly comfortable on the cold nights, and the entire space felt like a true retreat. We loved having time to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature together. This stay was a much-needed mental health reset, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome!!! The cabin is so cozy and it is clear that a lot of thought has been put into this stay (extra lights, lighters, charcoal for the grill, multiple chairs, condiments, lots of wood etc.). My dog and I were nice and toasty when it got down below freezing. The outhouse was spotless. The fire pit and yard were so charming at night. Lots of trails to walk. The hosts were fantastic and treat you like family. I will be going again

Carole and Art are two of the sweetest, most accommodating hosts you'll ever hope to meet! The amount of care and effort they put into making you feel comfortable is second to none. Like I told them, they thought of everything! Even the doggos and kiddos are made to feel welcome. There were even games for children of all ages to play - outdoors and in. For me, it was a solo trip. Carole and Art's property is so quiet and relaxing and was just what the Mental Health Professional ordered! I highly recommend the Arcala Bunkhouse for individuals, couples, groups, and families alike. The property has hills all around and is adjacent to a tree farm. Everything is so beautiful! I took so many pictures of the landscape and wildlife. I shared the atypical ones in order to not repeat the pictures that were already posted. Thank you Carole and Art for being amazing hosts and making my weekend truly memorable!

Carole and Art met with us and showed us exactly where we were going, it is definitely not on any main roads. It was beautiful and private. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The outdoor shower was super cool to use. The trails are well maintained. We got to see plenty of deer and even a bobcat! We will definitely be returning!

My wife and I had to change our plans last second for our vacation, and what we thought was just a nice little cabin in the woods ended up being a true up-north getaway that we will definitely be returning to! Carole and Al were wonderful hosts, and their property was beautiful. The fireplace and back patio were inviting, the grounds well maintained and easily hike-able, the inside of the cabin very charming, and overall the experience was far better than I could have expected.

This is an excellent place to stay very nice house. Both her and husband are great house and they’re making sure that everything is OK. Show us where the place was and ask us if we needed anything. Weekend Trip to Arcala Bunkhouse

The perfect cabin for a getaway. Upon arriving in Manton we met with Carole and Art, two of the nicest hosts we have ever encountered and they led us to the property. Without guidance it would be very hard to find. The cabin was perfect! It was extremely clean (to include the outhouse and shower) and had all necessary supplies in case you forgot to bring anything with you. We had a great time exploring the trails and woods with our doggo over the weekend. Our favorite part of the property had to have been the amount of land available to explore and the outdoor shower. The shower was warm and was such a cool set up. There was firewood available for our use as well as extras like corn hole which we really enjoyed. They provided a snack basket and treats for our pup which was a really special touch. This was the perfect mix between camping and staying in a cabin. We would highly recommend staying here and we plan to come again. Thank you Carole and Art for your amazing hospitality. 10/10

Our family stayed the weekend at Arcala Bunkhouse, and we will definitely recommend it to friends and family! It was such a nice place to stay, with it being close to things but far enough away to feel like a getaway. We loved the quiet, being able to bring our dog, and our kids loved the exploring! Art & Carole were amazing hosts! The cabin was clean and cozy, and the details were not forgotten!

Cozy, cute tiny house, loft alittle tricky if you mobility issues, relatively quiet, it’s between 2 homes and another tiny house. Loved having all the comforts of home. Good proximity to Lake Michigan and activities. Loved our stay

Wow. Beautiful off-grid cabin and property located in the woods. Upon arrival, the hosts showed us all the features of the cabin (how to work the outdoor shower, where the firewood was, etc). They were very flexible and accommodating. For being an off-grid cabin, it does have a full size fridge and freezer which was great. The outdoor shower was a highlight for us. Also — the outhouse was the cleanest, nicest one I've ever seen 10/10. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Bunkhouse Among the Pines! Christine's cabin was a perfect place to rest after exploring the Traverse City area. The outhouse was clean and the outdoor shower was hot. We were very comfortable and enjoyed watching fireflies in the evening and birds in the morning. On our trip we went blueberry picking, cherry picking and hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes. The location was perfect. Thank you Christine for being a wonderful host!

Weekend Trip to Bunkhouse in the Pines

My family absolutely loved staying in the little cabin. Lots of room and the necessities are already provided, including warm running water. Christine was an excellent host, offering us an extra night after missing the first from car troubles during travel. Very grateful for her kindness and flexibility, as we had a hard time finding the correct spot for putting up the tent after a long few days of travel. She was more concerned about the slant than the fact we were in the wrong spot. Hoping to return in the future!
