You'll be camping on our Stanley lake sugarbush property. Lakefront sites have power and water - are located in a grassy clearing on the shores of Stanley Lake. ABSOLUTELY NO CHARGING OF ELECTRIC CARS OR TRUCKS ON PROPERTY - E-bikes are ok!!
Primitive sites are amongst the maple trees of our sugarbush operation, within walking distance of the lake. These sites do not yet have water or electricity, but water is available from spigots at the lake clearing.
Stanley lake is just shy of 400 acres, known for walleye and bass. It is an all sports lake with no limited wake hours. Feel free to roam our woods - you will notice the blue maple lines come to an end at our east and west property lines, as well as a no trespassing sign on the lake clearing to the west line. Deer here are plentiful, and you can often get them to eat from your hand, provided you have apples. Iron county has a tremendous ORV/snowmobile trail system. You can drive your machine right from our property to the trails. There are two golf courses in the area, as well as a vast bicycle trail system. Ski Brule ski hills and sporting clay operation are a few miles from the property. Countless acres of public land for recreation!

I have a place to rest for a couple nights, there is a small non motorized lake across the road. Dunbar is not to far away and there you can find Thermal Chaos, it's a great bbq place, they also have great burgers and 24 hr 91 non ethanol gas. You can also try Richard's supper club for great food also. I am also right on the atv trail. Marinette country has many waterfalls to explore also.
Please follow the golden rule of camping and hiking is “leave no trace.” Anything you bring in, must be carried out. Please pack your waste, trash and recyclables, and take it with you when you leave.
You may use dead and downed wood as firewood, but do not cut live trees or brush. Keep fires small and make sure your campfire is out before you leave.

Bells Acres is a large property with abundant history! Originally homesteaded by a Finnish family in the 1800s, we are only the 4th family to own this property. Doc Bell operated his veterinarian practice from this farm starting in 1915, giving his name to the creek running through the property and the lake it feeds. A family from Finland purchased the property from the Bell family in the 1960s and lived on the homestead until 2020 when we purchased it. Welcome to Abby's Peshtigo River Camp. Situated on 11 acres of forested land. There are a few hundred feet of Peshtigo river front if you make the hike through the woods and down the hill. Lots of great fishing along the Peshtigo river and a great place for camp when hunting. The property is on the edge of 100's of acres of county forest that can be used for hiking and hunting.
Huge Elm trees to block out the sun on hot days. And every morning you'll wake up to the sounds of different bird species.
There is a driveway that goes back about 700 feet from the road. Where there is a fire pit. People usually setup their tents or RV on the driveway. If you walk through the woods west and continue down the big hill you'll reach the Peshtigo river. You are also free to camp near the water but that requires you to take a boat/canoe to the property.
Please pack out all garbage.
The driveway is on the northern most edge of the property so please stay to the south.

Phenomenal time! Went with a couple friends for the weekend to do some fishing and hang out by the fire. Didn’t see a single person the whole time we were there. Very secluded and tucked away in the forest. Lots of covered fire wood around the site along with a well kept outhouse and some other amenities for the fire or bringing pets. Patrick was very responsive and super helpful. Absolutely would come back for another weekend trip!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground! The views were absolutely beautiful, the place was quiet, peaceful with well maintained sites. There were great walking trails where we could explore, look for animal footprints, and enjoy watching all the birds and wildlife. The host was also very nice and welcoming, which made our stay even better. It was the perfect place to slow down, enjoy nature, and spend time together. We would definitely stay here again! 🌲🐾 🦢

Great place to stay with kids, family or just adults. We had to move from original campground and found this place an hour away. It was worth it! Beautiful sandy beach, big fire pit and extras near cabins. Kayaks, paddle boards, two docks, cabins, hotel, and two spots for rv's. Electric and water hook up. They turned their pole barn garage into an entertainment area, with washer/dryers, extra bathroom with shower, and outdoor standing bar with sitting. We used this area to cook breakfast outside, with roof over our head. I also used the shower, so I could take longer hot showers then our RV let's us. Easy to find off highway. Didn't mind the sounds of cars going by. Our dogs loved the beach and water. We went more to the side so little kids could enjoy the main beach area. Very nice outdoor sauna. Saw people and kids go in, then jump in lake, and start all over. Only 45 minutes to Marquette, and we visited a few tourist stops. We will be back for sure!

Maple Creek Farms is a lovely place to camp. Matt was a real gentleman - friendly, personable, and helpful. The site feels pretty private with beautiful surroundings. There’s a gorgeous sunflower field on the property that’s open to the public, and the access drive runs next to the campsite (though trees do divide the drives). Overall a great spot we highly recommend!

Our family had a wonderful time at Painted rocks peninsula! We took the short hike into panfish point. The site has two large tent pads, a nice fire pit and a fishing pier. The host were very welcoming and supplied us with a nice load of firewood for only $10. Our family has used several outhouses in our adventures but this one tops the list! A flushable toilet, lights and a sink with hot water! We plan on returning and we would recommend this camp for a nice relaxing getaway..

They had great amenities available , best camp toilets ive ever seen!! Very friendly and family friendly. Really a great place we all had a blast!

This time around (my third time here!), I made full use of the fantastic firepit/grill set up for a dinner under the stars. The cabin is well equipped with water, pots, dishes, dish soap, and a washing up table. My dog and I had a lovely hike through the property, and there were plenty of ripe raspberries and lovely little chanterelles. In the morning, a hummingbird said hello through the big, clear front window, overlooking the wildflower field. I feel like every visit is a little bit of magic. Thank you, Diane!

The whole family loved the little trailer! The trailer was just big enough for the four of us and served as a great little retreat. The kids put the provided kayaks to use everyday enjoying the lake just yards away from the trailer. Every night we enjoyed fishing on the dock and had no problem catching anything, even a turtle at one point! (The turtle was unharmed and released without incident) During the day there's plenty do within an hour or less of a drive. We had a short outing at the cabin, but managed to see a few water falls, including Canyon Falls which is absolutely spectacular, and spend a lot of time at Second Sand Beach. Overall, just a great place to stay and do some exploring in the middle of nowhere! Oh, and bring thermacells and/or bug spray, the mosquitos were out fierce while we were there.

This was a BEAUTIFUL hidden gem . I am so happy we found this. We were originally on the hunt for glamping near Marquette . This was our first time in the upper peninsula and this is the spot. Not only is the camper super modern and new Dana and Ken have it stocked with anything you can think of. Anything I usually bring camping I didn't even have to pull out because it was already there. Its up on a hill looking down at a beautiful pond . It was not as buggy as I expected the north woods to be which was wonderful. Dana and Ken are super welcoming and are very quick to respond to questions and concerns. They gave great recommendations of places to see , eat , and even things to check on their huge property. We will be back to stay at the property and we're excited to see the exciting future bells acres holds.

My fiance and I cane and camped out with our 2 pups and had a blast! Jamie was super helpful and was available for questions all the time also helped us out a few times when we needed stuff! Water was beautiful and you can hear the loons at night was very peaceful!
