We know most of our neighbors as friends or relatives. Our camping area only has four sites so it’s cozy and private. We have about 5 acres land for use around the campsite and lots of wooded trails nearby. We are about 2 miles from Burt Lake, and about 10 miles from other waterways, rivers and streams, and Lake Michigan. we are also 4 miles from biking and ORV trails.
There is also a dedicated stargazing field with an amazing view of the night sky!

We offer a common area with games, bathroom facilities, hand washing station, picnic tables, and a gas grill for cooking.
We have four campsites available and each site has a fire pit and cooking grate. We have 2 tent only sites, one site that'll fit a pop-up camper and/or a tent, and a fourth that will fit a tent, pop-up, or camper/RV.
One of our sites is very remote and is walk-in only, so we do provide wheeled carts to make hauling your gear easy! The other 3 allow for vehicle access.
Stop by our storefront for firewood, fresh organic chicken eggs, local honey, and more for purchase. You can also find wild strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries during the spring/summer months.
We are dog friendly, but all pets must be on a leash at all times, to respect other campers.
With the maps provided, feel free to walk our cut trails that wind throughout the property. Enjoy the serenity of our rippling creek, and watch for wildlife such as grouse, deer, bear, bobcat, elk, and more!
We do raise pheasants for release, so don't be shocked if you spook one up on the trail!
You can also hit the public trails next door on State Land and walk for miles and miles.
We are only 4.4 miles to and from I75, with easy access to Gaylord, Petoskey, Mackinac, and just down the road from downtown Wolverine and Indian River.

Hello and Welcome to Grateful Acres!!
*Update* Wifi has been installed at Grateful Acres and is included with each booking. Message me prior to arrival for current password. Also new this year is a small bathroom house with a flush toilet (in season only) located on the back side of campsite #1 for use by all guests.
I have two sites available that will accommodate both travel trailers, as well as tents. Both have 30amp RV and 120v outlets, as well as lights for late arrival setup. In the welcome Hut, you will find dry firewood for purchase, as well as a refrigerator and freezer for use by our guests. Each site has its own labeled shelf to keep your perishables fresh. Also available for purchase are organic farm fresh eggs, cold soda, and bottled water, as well as bags of ice in the freezer. At Grateful Acres we aim to make your stay with us, as enjoyable as possible.
The two sites sit on 3 beautiful, quiet acres in Northern Michigan. Site #1 is flat, open, and spacious, while site #2 is a bit more enclosed and private tucked into the trees. Both sites come furnished with a picnic table, a fire ring with attached grill for cooking and 2 adirondack chairs. The Star gazing at night is absolutley Amazing!!
The property is centrally located between Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Alanson. Nearby are many lakes, rivers, state forests, mountain biking trails, golf courses and ski resorts. Come on up, Stay at Grateful Acres and enjoy all that Beautiful Northern Michigan has to offer.

The Norton Nook campsites are perfect for off-grid boondocking or pitching a tent. Small Sprinter-style vans or adventure motorcycles are welcome. We offer two campsites on 100 secluded acres with lots of privacy.
Site 1: The Beaver Dam site is more open with a good breeze and a fantastic view of the active large Beaver Pond. This spot is only accessible with a Subaru, Jeep, Truck, or four-wheel drive Sprinter van.
Site 2: The Woods site is just that, in the woods with lots of Pine and Aspen trees. Accessible with any vehicle.
The property is located right off U-23, 7 Miles from Mackinaw City. Bring your bikes and ride from camp to Mackinaw City (7-8 miles) on the Northeastern Bike Trail. The Barbara Hoffius Nature Preserve is only a half-mile away and has great trails to the beach.
These simple campsites are PACK IN PACK OUT. We don’t have any services. There is the Mackinaw Straits roadside park one mile west which has well water and a public bathroom. Table and chairs and a fire pit are provided. Feel free to scavenge for deadfall firewood. Please don’t cut any trees down for any reason. Also, check with the DNR for fire risk. Do not burn during high risk of fire.
The location can't be beaten, if you want to visit the Mackinaw Area but need space from the crowds. It will not disappoint.

We now only book one site on our 40 acre property so you can enjoy a secluded experience in the woods. Our property is undeveloped, so you will need to bring drinking water, but there's no need to worry about finding firewood before your arrive as we supply you with all you need. There are beautiful wooded trails that will guide you to the river's edge where you can enjoy the beauty and wildlife along the West Branch of the Sturgeon River. It will feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, yet the convenience of the small town of Vanderbilt is just three miles away.
We are located just three miles off of I-75. The larger town of Gaylord is only a 15 minute drive south. There's lots to do here in beautiful Northern Michigan! Only a few miles from our camp you can go for a swim at Thumb Lake Park or take a bike ride along the North Central State Trail in Vanderbilt. Drive 15 minutes north and you can canoe or kayak the main branch of the Sturgeon River in Wolverine. There are many great hiking trails in the Pigeon River State Forest and the North Country National Scenic Trail is only 6 miles away.

I loved our spot #1. Phil's property is flat, clear of all debris, sites are spread out nicely so no one was looking directly into another and in fact, #4 is tucked away from the others. Electric is available to all sites. Water is available at Site #1. There is a toilet and a shower (not available during freezing temps).
A nice surprise for us was learning about KRUBB. You need to ask Phil to explain the game and its history.

Phil’s campsite was so thoughtfully set up and stocked! He’s thought of everything! There was a trash can, TP, and hand sanitizer in the outhouse, along with a handwashing sink just outside. There were electrical adapters for the 30amp outlets to 15amps if you need that for a regular extension cord. Firewood and kindling was provided. Grates to cook food on the fire. Nice picnic tables to eat on. Yard games to play. Both Phil and his neighbor came to check on us at some point during our 4 night stay. There’s as much space between campsites here as you’d find at a state park.

Phil's land is great! I camped in early spring and it was particularly chilly, but Phil provided plenty of firewood. I also appreciated the clean porta potty and the site overall. Definitely recommended!

Jeannie & I loved Phil & Stormy's Place. It was quiet this time of year, and we were lucky to be the only folks at their Camp. They definitely had made it their own, and have great amenities. Firewood & Firepit, 30 amp service, a water hose , picnic table & dry kindling.. 2 Porta Potties on site, and a RV cleanout. Great Wooden games around the site for folks enjoyment. Phil is a world renown Game maker who makes Games and interesting items, which he makes in his shop on site. Sends it all around the world. Besides meeting Phil and Chit chatting, because we are both Hip Camp Hosts, Phil gave us a tour of his Shop and woodworking area. Pretty impressive. He was a great host, and is Passionate about Kubb, a Yard game that was originally played overseas, but because of Phi, brought the game to the US. He actually has his own playing field. We plan on visiting again, as we loved the vibe

The yurts were SO cute! The lights were gorgeous and the bathrooms were way more than I expected (a full private bathroom!). The space heater kept us VERY cozy. We were far away enough from our neighbors that we didn’t see or hear anyone else at night. Everything here was great and we highly recommend staying here!!

This place is so cute! I didn’t have much time to explore, but the morning was so peaceful. The owners are very nice and welcoming too! Since I arrived late, they switched my site for easier car access and even helped me turn the car around because of my poor driving skills, haha. Highly recommend!

Phil's done a fabulous job of setting his site up. The amenities were easy to find and hook up to. It was wonderful to have wood, and fire starter available at the site. The yard games looked interesting, but we didn't have a chance to try them out. I really liked the laminated information sheets. The list of things to do in the area was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Hopefully, we'll have a chance to check out a few of those ideas next time we're there. All around, it was a wonderful experience!

My family loved camping at Sandra's campsite! Her Yurt tents were wonderful! It was very peaceful being tucked in the woods with gorgeous lights in and around the tent. Sites are far enough apart so you are able to relax on your own. Yurt tents had comfortable beds, lights, coffee makers, heater/fan, and wood delivered daily. Everything was perfect

Perfect spot to explore the area, just 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and the bridge, Todd was very accommodating, allowing 2 RV’s to stay. 45’ truck/trailer(need to back in-no issues) and. 25’ Class C. Site has power (50/30/20) and very nicely fixed up just like your backyard deck. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to return to after a day of exploring.
