We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't work as well. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Hunt at own risk, maximum three hunters per party. There is an outhouse that’s clean. There is plenty of firewood for your stay but be reasonable with the fire. Bring all you need the place has nothing. Think like a tent! You will need it all, nothing supplied as far as bedding, water, campfire starter, TP or lights. You may want bug spray. Tics in area and the wildlife is typical Pure Michigan. Over a mile of trails to wander or ride If ATV 25 mph max speed on property. I do provide fire extinguisher. Cost if used. Addition room for tents at $10 per person per night. Maximum 4 adults or family 2 adults 4 minor children in cabin. Access to Hot tub area at host HQ by river. It has indoor restroom and shower, Also small fireplace to enjoy the sprit of camping. This area is available to group of guest only for additional $15 a day. Closes at 10pm. Opens at 7am. Be sure to let host know so it can be unlocked for you. Bring a towel.Tub is 8’ by 8’. Maintained at 99f This is a new venture for me so please don’t destroy the place. Lake access ( Muskegon River, Rogers Pond) is available via adjoining property, there is a dock at adjoining property to tie up to, if you want to put in boat at public access 1 mile away. ATV access to water if you have one. Bagged trash is removed by me, extra bags in can bottom. Remember no Heat, Lights or water Code opens the cabin door.

Tincan Camp

This fun property is just under 7 acres - butted up to another 12 acres of public land (and boat launch) with trails, boardwalk and a dock on 51 acre Lake Eleven. The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. If available, the cabin and sites may be rented together however the owners, Jim and Maria, use the cabin much of the summer leaving just the RV sites available. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. There are surprises galore around the property; big foots to be found tucked around the property, games, and overall just a fun place to be. This was a run-down fishing cabin Jim and Maria lovingly brough back to life as a second home and they delight in sharing it. Jim often referred to it as "The Tincan" while working on it as it was - indeed, a tin shack and the name stuck. Kate, your booking coordinator, helps Jim and Maria tend to the administrative side of getting the property booked and keeping the details in order. Once booked you'll get contact info for Kate, who will take care of most communications and logistics, and Jim/Maria who will also be available to help as needed.

There is a private beach and a dock for a boat on a large all sports lake. Lake and beach area is accessible on property via 185 steps. There are other lake access points in the area such as Duchemin public boat launch. I am creating a homestead based on simple but holistic living. The cabin was built built by myself with the help of family and friends. There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. The property offers a chance to reconnect with each other, yourself, or the natural world in a simplistic and harmonious way. I hope you come experience it! 35 private acres of forest on rolling hill terrain. Lots of wildlife nestled very close to the flat river; 30-40 minutes away from Grand Rapids. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

Peace, quiet, and simplicity among the black walnut trees. I stayed in the small cabin which had just what I needed. Cleverly designed, this 8 foot by 10 foot space had a mini fridge, microwave, shelf, table, and futon. The front covered porch is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun cresting over the trees at dawn or painting last light on field next door. Rain isn’t an obstacle here, it’s a reason to pull out a board game in the pavilion and share with your neighbors. Life Adventures is all about a good, clean, fun camping experience. In fact, this space is available to rent for events like family reunions and weddings. Stephen was kind and courteous. He checked in on everyone I saw. The neighbors I talked to said they stayed at the campground many times and they plan to come back. I have to say, I agree. Camp is close to small towns that are reminiscent of antique stores and ice cream shops next to lazy rivers. If you’re hoping to see more nature, the North Country Trail is very near this campground. The NCT offers some moderate hikes and you may pass through hikers heading up to the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Talk to Stephen, he is a wealth of knowledge about the area. Key Camp Cabin Points: 1. Bring sheets 2. Bring microwavable plates/bowls/storage 3. Bring reusable hand towels 4. Bring biodegradable cleaner (Dr. Bronner’s?) Leave it better than you found it. Pack it in? Pack it out. Nature is waiting for you, go find it!

Riverside Retreat at New Richmond

The cabin at Riverside was absolutely adorable! All the ambience of a true fishing cabin from long ago. Julie and Bill were fantastic hosts. The communication was spectacular and they responded to us immediately when a little hiccup occurred. The cabin is situated right on the river and there are boats and kayakers waving as they pass. There is a train directly across the street hidden by some trees, so you will hear the train noises, but that didn’t bother us any. It’s not a secluded site, but you still have privacy. You really only need to bring your clothes because everything else has been provided for you. Fennville is a cute little town with a surprisingly well appointed grocery store and some great dining spots. It’s a short distance to Saugatuck, Holland, and a little farther to South Haven. We had a great day and would love to come back again to do some kayaking! Thank you, Bill and Julie!

I had a great time staying in the Grand Cabin! Ed was super helpful giving us a tour on arrival and had great local recommendations. The cabin was in a great location to go spend a day at one of the nearby state park beaches. We loved coming home to hammock and have a campfire!

It was a super affordable place to get away for a night, so we didn't expect anything fancy. Staying here is basically staying at a small campground. The cabin is a small shed made up as a little cabin. The large awnings were useful, the whole thing sits on a concrete slab. Looked like a tree fell through one of the awnings and there were materials there, probably to fix it. A large fire pit was full of ash, a broken rock climbing wall was nearby. There's a large bathroom facility with a shower, and a few camping sites nearby. The cabin is not out by itself, but amongst all this. Neighbors were nice. Luke, the camp dog, was a sweetheart. Inside the cabin, there's a tiny refrigerator and a little microwave and a couple outlets. The queen bed was on the stiffer side but very comfortable. There is no AC or heat. Once we aired the heat out of the room, it was pleasant inside. Overall, we had a good time. It's close to town, you can see the stars at night, it's quiet, and it wasn't crowded. It's quite a bargain. Met the owner briefly as he was doing some work around the camp. Pleasant and polite. We walked some of the trails, which were nice. I recommend a stay.

A great place to relax and get away from the city. The cabin had everything there for cooking and extra blankets and pillows if needed. The woods were perfect for just sitting back by the fire and listening to the sounds of nature.

Very nice place to get away. I rented the 8 x 10 for myself for the weekend. Just the right size with microwave and small fridge. Wonderful woods with trails to walk. Nice covered porch and fire. There is one other cabin and several tent, trailer sites. But everything is spread out enough so you can enjoy some quiet time to yourself. Definitely recommend this place. Wonderful host.

Rob is a friendly host with an AMAZING property! The cabin and main house are both fabulously decorated with antiques and unique finds that Rob has curated from his travels around the world, as well as an awesome art collection that includes many of his own pieces. His property also includes a wonderful rustic trail through the woods that is perfect for a long walk. Afterwards, when renting the cabin, you can relax with the free-range chickens around your own private fire pit. We also enjoyed cooking at the cabin and having access to the main house kitchen for doing dishes. We HIGHLY recommend this property and will definitely return!

Beautiful area! Our dogs loved it :) we played a lot of fetch and got to walk some of the trails. The owner takes really good care of the lawn areas and trails! The lab came by to say hi and was super sweet. The bed isn’t super comfortable, but, hey, it’s camping! Great price for what you get! Don’t forget to bring your own sleeping bags and pillows! We were in the car about to leave when I remembered, lol. Would definitely stay again!

This a great place! It is obvious that great skill and care went into building the cabin itself and what an excellent site it is on! If you have been looking for a cabin that is not right next to the owner's house or right on a blacktop road, this is the place for you! The tucked away cabin is back down a windy little dirt road through the woods and is truly surrounded by nature. A great bike trail along the Grand River is literally 5 minutes away. Perfect secluded glamping experience with everything you need including a Solo Stove fire pit that is the most efficient way to burn wood I have ever seen. I will definitely be back to this special place.

I stayed in S cabin (8x10). Very basic with futon, microwave, small fridge, electricity. Great covered porch. Make sure to bring a fitted sheet and bedding. Facilities are about 100 meters away. They could use a nice cleaning, but does the job. Beautiful trails and plenty of wood.

My property (Lynx Run) has an amazing geological and historical background. During the last ice age, glacial waters carved out the ravine in which the Betts Creek flows. Sometimes, the creek drops over 60 feet below the surrounding terrain as it meanders back and forth in oxbows as it flows toward the Muskegon River. It was once the hunting, foraging and camping grounds of the Potawatami Indians. In the late 1800's it was at the center of the Michigan Timber Industry. Running along the edge of my property is the old railroad bed where timber was once hauled away. Only two miles from my home, the logs were sent down the side of the hill and into the Muskegon River on log chutes and then floated to where the Muskegon empties into Lake Michigan. Piles of field stones indicate that after the timber industry moved on, farmers moved in and attempted to tame the land. But, fortunately for me, the land was abandoned by the farmers and has returned to a much more natural and pristine state. My land is now a part of the Manistee National Forest and I am surrounded by thousands of acres of beautiful land (both public and private). I am the only person who lives back here in this part of the forest, so seclusion and privacy are wonderful and the wildlife and beauty is abundant.

My black lab Luke or cat Mojo will likely visit your site to say hello and are super chill. 2 disc golf Black Hole Pro baskets on site to practice with. Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented. Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge. Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away. Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac) Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from. If woods or open shows booked already, please contact me. Additional fee of $20 per extra tent/camper that sleeps an adult. Picnic shelter is also available. Use my website to RSVP entire camp area for an event such as wedding.
