Ross Lake/Beach, the remodeled Beaverton Tavern, park, an ice cream shop and splash park are all located within a long walk or short drive. You can expect to hear the bird song throughout the day, and many other woodland critters as we are surrounded by state land, and are located on a federally protected watershed. It's about as clean as it gets! The area is traversed enough where we do not experience a population of bears or other predators one may be wary of in the woods. Whether you are a hiker, birder, forager, hunter, fisherman, dirt biking, or seeking a serene place to rejuvenate yourself-you have found a location that offers activities for every season.
We do host events on the land such as yoga, sound meditations, retreats, and more. If you happen to stay while an event is occurring, there is a possibility you may be able to join during your stay. Contact directly for details.
Rose City is 10 minutes down the road with access to all general food amenities you may need, as well as restaurants. West Branch is about 25 minutes away with the big box stores as well. Whether you’re a fan of skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing or swimming, you can give your next outdoor excursion a dash of something special here. Enjoy the celebratory vibe that comes along with seasonal festivals and top-notch picnicking on 300+ acres between Lakes Mitchell and Cadillac, or head out on the Mitchell-Heritage nature trail for superb wildlife viewing.

My wife and I are slowly starting up our own little farm. We have 2 indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat, a dog, chickens and two ducks.
We are on 34 acres and have a river that runs through the middle of it. We are 10 minutes from Alma and 20 minutes from Mt Pleasant. Lumberjack park is about 2 minutes away and Stearns preserve is about 5 mins away where you can walk or ride bike on a nice paved trail. We have a small garden that we plant every summer and plan to start a small farm stand this year.
We are in a quiet area with lots of wildlife. We have 1 spot near the house with a view of the river that can support electric hook for a smaller RV and can attach a garden hose for water if needed. We do have a “field” that RVs can use but there is no hook up and there ground may not be level. We have many options for rustic tent camping along the river. No public restroom available. We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a small cost. Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire ring. If camping by the field fires will be dependent on conditions.
We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river.
We are very new to this and just purchased a UTV so we will be able to start making trails and clearing areas. But for now, camping along the river you will have to walk (and carry belongings) through tall grass to the site you desire.
Quiet time 11 pm. We are an easy going couple that just want to share this slice of paradise with others!

The Magic Forest is a beautiful 25 acre property that is a holistic healing center centered around personal and spiritual growth. We tend to our land with respect and care and ask that you do too. We trust you will feel right at home in the peace of our woods.
The Magic Forest is located right across the street from the 4400 acre Rifle River State Recreation area. You can access the park across the street through the canoe port right on the Rifle River, with easy access to fishing, canoeing/kayaking, and trails. Kayak and canoe rental companies are nearby, as well as many lakes in the area with excellent fishing.
We have tent sites available, pull-in RV or camper sites, and very soon will have several tiny homes ready for lodging. Special accommodations can be made for those wanting to kayak or canoe, utilize the wood-fired cedar barrel sauna, or have a campfire. Please contact directly for details.
You can expect to hear the bird song throughout the day, and many other woodland critters as we are surrounded by state land, and are located on a federally protected watershed. It's about as clean as it gets! The area is traversed enough where we do not experience a population of bears or other predators one may be wary of in the woods. Whether you are a hiker, birder, forager, hunter, fisherman, dirt biking, or seeking a serene place to rejuvenate yourself-you have found a location that offers activities for every season.
We do host events on the land such as yoga, sound meditations, retreats, and more. If you happen to stay while an event is occurring, there is a possibility you may be able to join during your stay. Contact directly for details.
Rose City is 10 minutes down the road with access to all general food amenities you may need, as well as restaurants. West Branch is about 25 minutes away with the big box stores as well. Just down the road is Kenyon's Lakeside Resort, a historic Michigan Landmark and excellent restaurant with good food, music, and more. Another excellent must-visit just down the road is Lovewell's corner store, one of the best camp stores (and more) around!!

Experience the peace and quiet of a sustainable farm while only an hour and a half in all directions to hiking, fishing, lakes and rivers to play in. We are about 2 hours from Mackinaw and the fun of the Island and Fort Michilimackinac, and an hour and a half from Lake Michigan, Traverse City, and Grand Rapids. With so much to do, the peace and quiet of this campground is a great place to relax at the end of the day, enjoy some farm fresh meat on the grill, and plan the next day's adventures.
The campsites overlook over 80 acres of hay field and wildlife area. It's a great place for sky watching. The wildlife area has walking paths for you to enjoy. Deer are common. Right next door is Baker's Green Acres, a regenerative working farm with cows, chickens, pigs, and dogs. This is farm country, with open land and lots of quiet.
For example, only 16 miles away is Mitchell State Park. White sand, blue water and warm sunlight mesh to make a rockin’ vacation atmosphere at William Mitchell State Park. Whether you’re a fan of skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing or swimming, you can give your next outdoor excursion a dash of something special here. Enjoy the celebratory vibe that comes along with seasonal festivals and top-notch picnicking on 300+ acres between Lakes Mitchell and Cadillac, or head out on the Mitchell-Heritage nature trail for superb wildlife viewing.
There is a creek within walking and biking distance of the campground, plus good fishing just up the road a few minutes. Come on over and visit the farm while you're here! You can pick up eggs from the hens, pet the cows, and laugh at the antics of the pigs.

My wife and I are slowly starting up our own little farm. We have 2 indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat, a dog, chickens and two ducks.
We are on 34 acres and have a river that runs through the middle of it. We are 10 minutes from Alma and 20 minutes from Mt Pleasant. Lumberjack park is about 2 minutes away and Stearns preserve is about 5 mins away where you can walk or ride bike on a nice paved trail. We have a small garden that we plant every summer and plan to start a small farm stand this year.
We are in a quiet area with lots of wildlife. We have 1 spot near the house with a view of the river that can support electric hook for a smaller RV and can attach a garden hose for water if needed. We do have a “field” that RVs can use but there is no hook up and there ground may not be level. We have many options for rustic tent camping along the river. No public restroom available. We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a small cost. Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire ring. If camping by the field fires will be dependent on conditions.
We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river.
We are very new to this and just purchased a UTV so we will be able to start making trails and clearing areas. But for now, camping along the river you will have to walk (and carry belongings) through tall grass to the site you desire.
Quiet time 11 pm. We are an easy going couple that just want to share this slice of paradise with others!

Site 3 is nice and open, I went during the winter so make sure you have 4x4 before attempting to get to the site in the snow! Beautiful area, nice and quiet. Definitely need to revisit in the summer time, would recommend.

We stayed at River Daze and had a nice, quiet getaway. The host was very friendly and helpful — he was waiting when we arrived, guided us to our spot, and even had the water and electric hookups ready to go. The property sits right on the Tobacco River, which would be great in the summer for kayaking, canoeing, or tubing. It was beautiful in the fall. There are a few walking trails, and it’s less than a half mile to town, which is super convenient. There is a porta-john close for convenience.
It felt cozy and tucked-away. Overall, it was peaceful, clean, and the host clearly puts care into making guests comfortable.

Quiet, despite a nearby road/bridge, and situated on the Tobacco River, Riverdaze offered me a private retreat while visiting friends nearby. I stayed for 3 nights with two pups and enjoyed the hospitality of the host as well as the convenience of nearby activities and restaurants. The hosts are putting work into the property, with improvements, and I'll keep it in mind if in the area again. The sites are perfect for tenters, small trailers, or those interested in boondocking with fire rings and picnic tables provided. A new treehouse and available water activities are great for families and adventurists.

Great spot if you are looking to get away from city noise and lights. Heard nothing but nature. Dennis was quick to respond. Dennis came to check in with us and ask if we needed anything shortly after arriving. If you like coney dogs, stop at the coney trailer in Sanford. We will be back.

Genuinely such an amazing experience at Camp Bear Paw!! Kevin and Lori are phenomenal hosts. It’s truly a hidden gem. There’s activities for kids all ages and adults. Deer Path was a perfect get away for us. I was a little nervous about having neighbor's so close, but there was no need. The set up of the site and full hook ups felt very private. We loved sitting by the river and watching a Blue Heron fishing in the river as well as watching a herd of a dozen deer cross the river 100 feet from us. Megan stopped by to confirm that everything was perfect for our stay and it was. I highly reccommend this location with no reservations!
