Chippewa Henge Camp

I absolutely loved it! It's very private, peaceful completely in nature. The swimming hole was absolutely awesome! Me and my 4 year old had a blast. We kayaked they had community kayaks, fished and swam. There are trails those were nice too have multiple exits in case you don't want to walk the whole thing. Water and portajohn was close like a 5 mins walk from our site. I would go again for sure! Chip came and took our garbage too! There's cooking grates for open fire cooking, firewood provided. Was just a great spot to get away and shut off for a while!

Lovely little hidden gem. Took my grandkids and they had a blast at the pond. We brought our own kayaks but there were 3 already there for use. Hosts are super nice and accommodating. I've found my new favorite place to camp.

Very Large and private sites; easy to back into. Great Private campground very close to Mt. Pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay. The well stocked woodpile was VERY appreciated!

My partner and I absolutely loved this site! It is definitely the one to choose if you are looking for privacy, it is far enough away from the other sites that noise from the common area doesn’t carry over. Not a lot of sun makes it through the trees, which made tent sleeping very comfortable! The trails on the property were very pretty and we loved fishing in the lake, the baby bluegill are pretty hilarious, and I caught a good sized catfish! We also loved the free firewood, we will definitely be back next summer!

Impeccably maintained tent sites in a great location for anything in Mount Pleasant! Forest is largely intact around the camp, so plenty of “up north” feel and privacy.

Really enjoyed swimming in the lake and using the kayak. Ended up moving from C to B since it was available still and really liked that site better. Site C was a little small with a lot of gravel, but site B was really nice and we enjoyed our stay.

This place is beautiful! We had site A, which was the most secluded and perfect for those that have fur children. There was a lovely pond with kayaks to use as well as lawn chairs. The directions were easy to follow, and Chip had firewood already set up, the fire ring was nice and big. It's probably 10 minutes from Mt. Pleasant, a perfect place that feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere with the conveniences nearby. Definitely will be back here again!

I was unsure, what to expect when I got there. There is porta-potties. There is what I think is a man-made lake. It's small but it's cozy. I was there throughout the week and 1 day of the weekend throughout the week was wonderful. I was pretty much all alone, which is what I needed. Once a weekend hit when I woke up Friday afternoon. There was quite a more people there. Nobody bothered us.I didn't see anybody. If you're looking for alone time and a wonderful place to disconnect and recharge, I definitely suggest camp site B for your choice during the week with that being said. I still had connectivity on my phone and my tablet. So if you do need to work while you're there, you will be able to do that. Huge perk I do not know if it's all year round, but I do know on my way there. I purchased wood from side of the road vender, which was a very good deal. But I also found when I was there that there was just piles and piles of split wood everywhere, I could have come there with no wood at all and been okay. The next time I booked this campground, I will definitely be staying Sunday through Friday. Cause those are days when it is the most quiet My outlaw was super happy and slept most of our trip. Just a really pleasant place, super happy to have found it. But there is no electricity and/or running water. Be prepared.

This place was absolutely beautiful. I stayed in site D and it was only a few steps away from the relaxing lake from the pictures. Chip, the host was really friendly and always made sure we had what we needed. It was very peaceful and it wasn’t over populated for going on a long weekend. I would definitely camp here again in a heart beat!

Beautiful site away from the others. Very quiet and serene. Not much breeze comes through the trees, but waking up under the massive tree was amazing !!! There’s even wild wintergreen growing in the spot if you need to freshen your breath 😁

The property is very private, and really quiet. The common area is really nice. Chip was extremely friendly and helpful. He brought a huge load of dry firewood for me, and told me a little about the place. This was my second visit here, and I will probably go back again. The free firewood and the quiet beauty of the property, make it well worth the price!

13 ft toy hauler ·

Chip was an excellent and very accommodating host. The property is close to Mount pleasant but still very secluded. Site C was a little small, but plenty of room for our 13 ft toy hauler. We rode electric bikes on the trails and very much enjoyed our stay! We will be back.

One of our favorite camping locations to date--and we've been all over Michigan! Chip was an incredibly attentive & generous host, providing us with maps for his land, clear instructions and a friendly, easy manner. This place had so many perks (unlimited supply of wood; clean, quiet sites; boating included)--we couldn't believe the price was so low! Highly recommend.
