Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground!
We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!

We have one campsite with an RV on it that we rent out and then we have a campsite right next to our camper than you can bring your own RV to. We have a hose for water and offer a 30A or 50A electric hook up for your camper at our campsite, along with full hook up. Our camper can sleep up to 4 people and we are dog friendly for one dog up to 50lbs. Our camper is a one bedroom with a king bed and then a full size futon in the living area for additional guests.

Single full hookup for one camper less than 3 miles from Lake Superior and just down the road from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It would make a great base camp for spending time in the central upper peninsula.
-We have 50/30/20 electric, softened iron and odor free perfect water, septic, WiFi, and can accommodate a VERY large rig, lots of parking available.
-All graveled.
-An acre of land at the end of a dead end paved road.
- A mile the way the crow flys to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, not too far out of Munising, but in a quiet setting with woods to the east and south.
-There is only 1 site, so you have the area to yourself.
-Pellet grill, picnic bench, small standing fire ring and patio chairs are available for your use.
-We do get wildlife like, turkeys, deer, owls, coyotes in the area that you might see or hear!
-There is a hidden back lawn area, and I'm working on establishing a small orchard and vineyard in the back, that the site overlooks.
-Leashed dog friendly. (Please make sure you clean up any pet messes!)
-Small rolling dumpster available for kitchen trash
We purchased the property 3 years ago, had it cleared and put up a barn, we are currently working on finishing the interior. So I may be around putting in some work inside, this wouldn't be anywhere near where you would be parked.

This campground has 2 tent sites at the western base of Hogback Mountain.
Site 1, The Falls Site, is located on a spring fed stream.
The hike from parking to tent site is 1/4 mile on a well-marked hilly path.
Campers can park at the main property on County Road HD or on the Garden Road, and will need to pack supplies to their site.
Site 2, The Garden Site, is 50 feet from the stream and campers can drive to and park their vehicles at the site.
Site 3, Mountain View Cabin, is a century old hunting cabin with 2 cots on the main floor and 2 singles in the loft. Site 3 includes an outhouse and sauna.
All sites have a picnic table, firepit and outhouse.
Campers are responsible for removal of all other waste.
The 2-foot wide stream provides water for washing, but is not considered potable, and use of filters or boiling water is recommended.
These isolated sites are beautiful and rustic and nestled in the midst of the Noquemanon Trail Network (cross country skiing and mountain biking) and North Country Trails and are approximately 2 miles from Lake Superior, Harlow Lake and Dead River.
4 kayaks/paddles/life vests and a 12 foot boat are available for camper use. First come, first serve. You transport.

Our property is located between Marquette and Negaunee, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We are 7 miles from downtown Marquette, 8 miles from the shores of beautiful Lake Superior and 53 miles from Pictured Rocks National Park. We are about 4 miles off of US 41 nestled in a quiet forest like setting.
We built our home here in 2019 and are continually making improvements to the land. We tap our trees for maple syrup in the spring-you will drive by our "sugar shack" and raise chickens in our very nice coop -no roosters to awaken you!

There is guest internet but its patchy in camping area-better closer to the house and large firepit area

We are near 2 river basins(McClure Basin and Dead River Basin) for fishing, swimming and boating ( kayaks and canoe for rent on this site-see extras! ) We are on the route of the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike epic and not far from the North Country Trail.
We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks..
There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here!
There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed!
There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

Heritage Hills isn't called Heritage Hills for nothing! It's situated on 21 acres of what was the original Wawonowin Country Club, a 9-hole golf course that was built in the early 1800s and then closed in the mid 1960s. And now we have a beautiful mix of hardwoods and pines, forests and fields with multiplied non-motorized trails accessible right off the property. The very popular RAMBA bike trails are literally an ‘stones throw’ away! Our biggest site, Fairway Field is big enough for group camping that horse campers love, and one site, the Homestead, with an electric hookup. Bells Acres is a large property with abundant history! Originally homesteaded by a Finnish family in the 1800s, we are only the 4th family to own this property. Doc Bell operated his veterinarian practice from this farm starting in 1915, giving his name to the creek running through the property and the lake it feeds. A family from Finland purchased the property from the Bell family in the 1960s and lived on the homestead until 2020 when we purchased it. Found my perfect place when visiting Marquette. Just a 20min drive away. This property has lots of space, quiet and beauty. Trails to walk, trees to hang your hammock but mostly I enjoyed the peaceful fire looking up at all the stars in the evening. Wow! The hosts were so nice as well!

The site was so big I didnt know where it began or ended. Plenty of privacy and full of nature. The amount of firewood is fair for the price compared to other local areas. We were only there 1 night but had originally planned for 2 or 3 due to a work conflict. Easy set up. Only recommendations would be to have numbered sites for future, but not necessary because the owner was quick to respond to messages.

However, I assume the hosts intend to meet you during check in, removing the need for signage. I would recommend this host to anyone, Excellent Job!

Big, private site down a quiet road and close to town. We have a 31’ trailer that easily fit. The site was immaculate and hookups were in great shape. There is a nice picnic table in a pretty grassy area behind the site, which allowed us to tie out the grateful dogs while we were ‘home’. Next to this is a big patio with fire pit and chairs. All of this is surrounded by trees, for a peaceful view. The host was super friendly and answered our questions on the best hiking and activities. Absolutely recommend!!!

I am sad we didn’t use the firewood he had out for us to use in his solo stove but we chose to take his advice on a location to view the northern lights which were so beautiful and one for me to check off the bucket list.
