Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground! We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. There is little to no elevation gain on the trail. The path is on the shorter side, measuring in at 1.4 miles. The Dufour Creek Trail is generally well-kept, though there can be a few muddy sections when it rains. The path leads through a forest of hemlocks and cedars, fully wooded yet easy to follow. You may also get a glimpse of the native wildlife along the way. Swimming Perhaps the biggest feature of the entire park is the designated swimming beach. The beach remains very popular with guests, due in part to the clean, sandy shoreline as well as the vast, cordoned-off swimming area filled with shallower waters. There are restrooms and showers on site, which also have a reputation for being clean and well-kept. Fishing Indian Lake in Michigan features large swaths of underwater vegetation, making this area a great place for fishing. This is especially true if you are looking for panfish, as you can expect to see plenty of species like bluegill, crappie, and the like. However, there are plenty of other kinds of fish available, including Walleye, Perch, Brown trout, Rock bass, Smallmouth bass, and Northern pike. With clear water beneath you and great weather, boating at Indian Lake makes for a great pastime.The lake is fairly shallow, with 90% of the area being less than 15 ft deep. The deepest point is 18 ft. Owners of larger boats should keep this in mind when traversing the lake. If you are looking for water access for paddle sports such as kayaking, there is a carry-on access located at Indian Lake State Park at the Western Shore Unit. It would make a great base camp for spending time in the central upper peninsula. -We have 50/30/20 electric, softened iron and odor free perfect water, septic, WiFi, and can accommodate a VERY large rig, lots of parking available. -All graveled. -An acre of land at the end of a dead end paved road. - A mile the way the crow flys to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, not too far out of Munising, but in a quiet setting with woods to the east and south. -There is only 1 site, so you have the area to yourself. -Pellet grill, tables, picnic bench and chairs are available for your use. -We do get wildlife like, turkeys, deer, owls, coyotes in the area that you might see or hear! -There is a hidden back lawn area, and I'm working on establishing a small orchard and vineyard in the back, that the site overlooks. -Leashed dog friendly. (Please make sure you clean up any pet messes!) -Small rolling dumpster available for kitchen trash We purchased the property 3 years ago, had it cleared and put up a barn, we are currently working on finishing the interior. So I may be around putting in some work inside, this wouldn't be anywhere near where you would be parked.

There is guest internet but its patchy in camping area-better closer to the house and large firepit area There is a charcoal grill near communal firepit area. We are near 2 river basins(McClure Basin and Dead River Basin) for fishing, swimming and boating ( kayaks and canoe for rent on this site-see extras! ) We are on the route of the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike epic and not far from the North Country Trail. We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks.. There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here! There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed! There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

We loved camping our RV at the Homestead site at Heritage Hills! Our hosts were so kind, helpful.and friendly, and have the sweetest dogs. We had a beautiful site in a clearing near the woods, and were right in top of the RAMBA mountain bike trails. There's a really nice extensive path through the property where I could walk the dogs each day.

My husband and I camped at Tom’s for one night and enjoyed it. We had the place to ourselves and the quiet, private, and secluded environment was exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic little spot. The homestead was great with having power and a nice cozy setup. A real treat was waking up in the morning and seen the horse is grazing around us. The house were super friendly and great to talk to. Location wise it was perfect proximity to mountain bike trails everywhere. Especially close to the LSPR rally briefing.

Weekend Trip to Heritage Hills

Such a beautiful property with walking trails throughout. The fall colors were at peak and it was lovely & peaceful. Phil and Joni were wonderful hosts -- the kind of people that makes your stay even better. Both were very kind and fun to chat with. I mustn't forget to mention their sweet dogs. The little one, Becky, was my little guy's new best friend. And Silver - what a gentle soul. The beautiful black Collie is a bit stand-offish, but she finally let me pet her. If you're lucky, the two horses will visit you at your campsite. Heritage Hills is truly a gem. 💕

Very nice setup. Quite on a dead end, on a city like street. He has everything set-up perfectly and very easy to back straight in. If you're looking to stay out of the big campgrounds and getting a peaceful night's sleep this is the place. Thanks Wayne PS..... I have about the same Hipcamp set-up in Wisconsin..

Nice and quiet location, center of UP, we used it to explore Pictured Rocks, Maquette to Baraga,and some trails closer to camp. Hosts were very friendly and helpfull with camp features. Would go back again. Thanks

7 nights at Full RV Hookup by Lake Superior

Great quiet and private spot. We never got a single mosquito bite and we stayed for a week. We had our dog and this was great for her, she played in the grass and had nice walks in the neighborhood. Love the gravel/concrete as we were able to not drag in as much dirt. We used the concrete pad for morning workouts as well. Wayne’s a water guy, so has great water quality and pressure. He is also a kind man with lots of good local suggestions. We loved Muldoons pasty, not the other places as much. Get the traditional it is amazing! $5 pints at East Channel Brewing and good flavors also. Also we were able to see the Northern Lights at Miners Beach one night. Enjoy!

The location was very easy to find with the coordinates provided in the itinerary. A really beautiful spot with plenty of spaces to explore and as a bonus, the property backs up to the north country trail and there’s access to Lake Superior just across the street. My campmates and I really enjoyed our time here! An ideal rustic camping spot. Would camp here again
