Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 5 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

The laundry is located in the basement and in the back is private storage. Hot tub is included! So if you are out skiing or snowmobiling and need to warm up or you just want to relax on your stay we have you covered! You will be able to access the entire property and the lake in summer and winter. The home is totally available except for the storage in the rear of the basement. I can be contacted at any time. You are in a very private setting close to town. You will feel you are in the great outdoors with giant maple and oak trees on the property. Located on the edge of atv and snowmobile trails and lots of room to hike. Ample parking space for up to 6 plus vehicles. There is also room for boat and snowmobile trailers at the top of the driveway.

Weekend Trip to HillCrest

Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive! If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are. We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location. It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City. If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well. Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!

Our stay at Maple Grove was peaceful and relaxing. Dan and Bill have ensured that everything you would need for a great vacation are available. It was quiet in the evening and very restful. The hot tub was fantastic! Their landscaping is beautiful and park-like! The Privacy was welcome. Each camper had its own sitting area so you could have your gas firepit burning and enjoy time under the stars. It was a convenient location for getting around to all the things we wanted to see in Northwest Michigan. We would highly recommend this location!!!

Dan and Bill are outstanding hosts and very thoughtful, even giving us robes to use after using the hot tub. The property is beautiful and in a perfect central area to visit all the local areas. I loved my place! It was so clean and everything was so easy to find at the RV. The one I rented made me feel like I was in a home. They had everything needed, the bed was so comfortable. I’m sad I didn’t get to enjoy the swing because I was busy exploring the town. The flowers were beautiful around the RV and so nice and quiet around the area. Dan and Bill were very nice host’s and asked me how I was doing since I traveled alone. Absolutely recommend!

We had an amazing time! The camper was super nice and there were dishes, towels, a tv, and so many more accommodations. The hosts were super friendly and have a beautiful property. Can’t recommend enough!!
