Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

We live on the property, not far away so are available if you have any questions, etc. We have a two night minimum stay. There is a book in the house full of info on our favorites...favorite place for breakfast, favorite beach, mt. bike, etc.  Other things to note:  We have a french press for making coffee and provide fair-trade coffee.   I haven't been able to update the caption on our "outdoor shower-like structure"-this is a rinse station-perfect for cooling down on a hot day!  We have an indoor shower and flush toilet.  We are pet-friendly and have hosted many groups with dogs. There is a $20/per pet/per night fee, which will not be included in your total. Please leave this money before departure. We require pet owners to follow our pet policy. Inquire for a copy of it. We built our family home in the woods behind the tiny house.  When leafed out, the trees protect the view but just want to make sure you are aware of this before you arrive. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

Each tiny house has its own privacy. They are located approx. 40 yards apart, separated by a piece of forest.  You will have the whole tiny house to yourselves. We live on the property, not far away so are available if you have any questions, etc. We have a two night minimum stay. There is a book in the house full of info on our favorites...favorite place for breakfast, favorite beach, mt. bike, etc.  Other things to note:  We have a french press for making coffee and provide fair-trade coffee.   I haven't been able to update the caption on our "outdoor shower-like structure"-this is a rinse station-perfect for cooling down on a hot day!  We have an indoor shower and flush toilet.  We are pet-friendly and have hosted many groups with dogs. There is a $20/per pet/per night fee, which will not be included in your total. Please leave this money before departure. We require pet owners to follow our pet policy. Inquire for a copy of it. We built our family home in the woods behind the tiny house.  When leafed out, the trees protect the view but just want to make sure you are aware of this before you arrive. Before the leaves are out, you will see the house behind the tiny house. We recently had to have some excavation work done so the area around the tiny house is in need of landscaping and time to re-grow vegetation.  I will be working on this as soon as I can but just wanted to make sure you were aware before your arrival.

We had a fantastic stay at Site 1 – Elm Valley (hosted by Jayne). From the moment we arrived, Jayne greeted us warmly, offered firewood, and helped guide our 22-ft travel trailer into the perfect spot. The site was level, flat, with water & electric hookups—just what we needed. We were among the last campers of the season and feel grateful we were able to secure such a great location. The location was very convenient—several wineries were just a short drive away—making it easy to explore when time permitted. We were in town for the Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race and enjoyed chatting with Jayne about the event and her family/friends who’ve done it. Upon departure, her husband stopped by to ensure everything was good—it wrapped up the stay perfectly. Jayne is exactly the kind of host you hope for: friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. We’ll absolutely plan to return—maybe next summer to make fuller use of those nearby wineries. Highly recommended.

Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

The view and bubbling of the brook in the backyard was charming to say the least. In mid-Oct. the wood stove kept us comfortably warm. The furnished kitchen, updated fridge, running cold water sink, and stovetop made meal time smooth. We appreciated the convenience of having home cooked meals made easily. For fairly avid hikers, we LOVED the trails around the property. We hiked for about 2 hours in our short trip and the dirt morning star path was great. Easy elevation changes, superb views of the colorful fall leaves, few and far between encounters with other hikers, and serene nature as far as the eye can see. Accessing the cabin with our SUV was easy despite a 2 track back. Cell service was decent. WiFi was a little slow and low signal but worked. Lots of blankets, lamps, and warmth to make a cozy retreat. Since we were hoping to have a relaxing weekend with minimal screen time, this was just what we needed. The full bed upstairs was comfortable, not too squeaky, and is nicely placed by windows to oversee the brook. We have a young dog that was able to manage the ladder/small steps up to the loft; however, I’d be very cautious if I had a senior dog. We brought a runner lead for our dog in the back yard which was a great way to keep him leashed with a little freedom to roam. Will happily go back (either to this cabin or try another on the acres). Host was thoughtful, eager to help, and communicative. Friendly and welcoming overall.

Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive! If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are. We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location. It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City. If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well. Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!

Betty and her husband were very friendly. He met us on arrival to show us to our site and even lent us his very bright flashlight since we were setting up in the dark. Then chatted with us the next night around the camp fire. They have an adorable dog that runs around the property mostly keeping to herself but will gladly accept pets and belly rubs. One thing to note is that 1-3 tent sites are right next to each other and the communal fire pit is nice but if there is anyone else in those sites be prepared to make friends.
