Good stargazing area at night! Across the street there is a county park, Riverbend Park, it is well maintained. Has a volleyball net, cornhole boards, horseshoe set-up, play-sets, pavilion and grills. This park also has access to the Coldwater River for even more fishing spots. The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Titus is a very caring host. He is very prompt to communicate and he made sure I was doing ok during my stay (I was hot tent camping in snow). His thoughtfulness and creativity was everywhere in the campground - instructions were found right at the amenity I didn’t have to ask anything. I came on my own this time but I’d love to come back with kids next time. They would love the swing, the ship, fishing and animals.

Titus has created a great little get away! The grounds were well kept and sites are all far enough away from each other that there is a lot of privacy. He was a very helpful and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend staying here. Google maps will try to take you to the wrong house (the one just before) so just make sure you look for the actual address. It’s the driveway lined with trees on both sides.

Beautiful place & peaceful. I’d you want a nature break, this is the spit for you.. Camp host was on site briefly, his dog Luke kept me company for most of my stay. Already planning a visit next summer when I come to the area. Few things to note: *Bring a flashlight, it’s dark when walking to the restroom. *There are bugs & Spiders everywhere, it’s nature. *Futon in cabin-s isn’t comfortable, I slept in my zero gravity chair.. *Breathe, and have fun..

Love this site, private and pretty peaceful, can relax by the river or for short hikes in the property, nice being gated as well. Park across the street has a short trail that follows the river and public restrooms. Great host will always return.

There is a picnic table at the ponds edge. Please feel free to use it during your stay. There is also a bottle of Dr. Broner's available for you to use if you choose to bath in the pond.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Peaceful serenity at its finest. I'm a seasoned, rustic camper & decided on a spontaneous, last minute weekend away & came across Way Way Back & their Bell Tent. Knowing it was going to be a beautiful day Saturday, but rain Saturday night & Sunday, I didn't want to waste the weekend. But not having to take down a wet tent & pack wet gear, that sounded wonderful. Wonderful is exactly what it was. I got there later than expected Friday night & it was pitch dark. Jeremy was in contact with me during my drive down & told me to message him when I was close so he could lead me to the tent. Unfortunately I didn't have cell signal as soon as I was about 1.5 mile away, but I stopped at the house & he led the way. Was I ever happy that he did, daylight wouldn't have been difficult. I was delighted to discover that I was the 1st guest of the Bell Tent & was it ever cozy. I lit a fire, got situated, then slept luke a baby. When I woke the next morning to a breathtaking view of the fields & woodsnext to me, I was very excited. My dogs lived it too, 15 yr old Maggie decided to wander into the woods to discover a nlce little river, he favorite. To my surprise she was sharing a drink with beautiful doe only 5 ft from her. Only wish ai had my camera to catch that special moment. Zowie and I walked up about 10 ft away & just watched for a few moments before she wandered off. I can't wait to go back!!

Centrally located to many interesting places. Titus very friendly and showed me where everything was. Showerhouse and outhouse(pump toilet) exceptionally clean and well stocked. Even had towels incase you forgot. Loved waking up in the morning with the sheep in the fields. It rained while I was there and Titus let me move to higher site with no issues. Hope to visit again in the future.

Beautiful and peaceful! Such a treat to be the only camper. Nice trails that include a wooded area in addition to the bee sanctuary. Host Joe was great making sure we had what we needed and provided a map of the property so we were sure to find our way around. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Have A Lake Of Your Own!

Great spot. We were the only cabin, so lots of privacy and the bathroom to ourselves. We rented a canoe and purchased firewood, they were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Lake was great to canoe around. Trail loop was short and sweet, but a nice walk through the woods. Seeing the horse get let out in the afternoon was really nice.
