There is a bonfire pit between the two cabins as well.
There are plenty of fallen trees for you to use as firewood. A phone number/address will also be provided for wood pickup or delivery if you’d prefer to take that route.

Every family has a black sheep: the one who does things their own way and somehow ends up being everyone’s favorite anyway. That’s where the name comes from, and it fits the land just as well as it fits the stay.
Black Sheep Landings is 10 acres of real, working Northern Michigan land, located roughly halfway between Boyne City and Boyne Mountain. Trees line two sides of the site, giving you a sense of separation without pretending you’re in the middle of nowhere.
This is a rural road, and you’ll hear the occasional truck pass, especially in the early morning. We’d rather tell you that upfront than have you discover it on your own.
This isn’t a polished resort with manicured pads and cookie-cutter sites. It’s a working property. There’s a barn nearby with some honest wear on its siding, and a couple of areas around the property are still a work in progress. None of that affects your stay.
What you get is a site that’s entirely yours, with a real fire pit at the center, a gazebo covering a screened-in picnic table so dinner doesn’t turn into a bug buffet, and plenty of open space to park whatever you bring—trucks, trailers, ATVs, bikes, boats, and more.
We live close by, about 100 yards up the driveway, which means help is never far if you need it. It also means this isn’t a deep-woods, off-grid kind of stay. It’s a working landscape with room to breathe, not total isolation.
The driveway itself is steep, so take it slow on your way in and out, especially when there’s snow on the ground.
Bring the dog. Bring the whole crew, honestly—there’s room for both. This is the kind of place you come to for the fire pit at night, the acreage during the day, and the freedom to enjoy the property at your own pace.

The campsite is set about 150 feet back from the road, screened by trees for privacy, with the nearest neighbor roughly 300+ feet to the northwest. Wildlife is common — you’ll often spot squirrels, birds, deer, and rabbits around the property. The site features its own fire pit, perfect for evenings by the campfire. As you’re in the middle of the woods, mosquitoes are present and can be worse in the evenings. Bug spray is recommended around the fire at night.
This is primitive camping. There is no potable water, toilet, or shower on site, so guests must be fully self-contained. Please bring your own water, camp toilet, and gear, and practice Leave No Trace.
A trail leads to the back of the property, where I’m currently building a small A-frame cabin. Guests are welcome to explore the trail, but please stay out of the active construction area and the A-frame itself for safety. There is also a section being cleared for a future septic field that contains many small stumps — please avoid this area.

Torch Lake is known for its crystal-clear water, and there’s a small sandy beach on Lake Bellaire. I provide guests with a map highlighting local food, activities, and attractions in the area.

This spot is incredible! The rustic cabin is perfect for unwinding. Literally the dream, a peaceful spot in the woods. Tim is a super nice dude and way accommodating. The cabin has a lot of stuff that one may have forgot. Some games, some firewood, things for cooking, a little coffee maker. It was nice to take the family camping without hauling all the gear.

What a wonderfully comfy stay. I truly felt among the trees and it was such an unexpected luxury to be in nature while still waking up in a cozy bed, having ample space to get work done and everything I needed to cook a few yummy meals! There's a small farmers stand around the corner that I recommend as well!

This park was so upscale, well kept, and offered a lot of activities. My family and I stayed in one of the lodges which had ample room for us. The accommodations were clean and offered the comforts we typically look for and enjoy when we go out camping - like a shower with good pressure and hot water. The grill and fire pit on the side of the lodge was a great space for us to relax.
We didn't get to use the pool, but we certainly took advantage of the playground, the jumping pads, and did some gem stone sifting as my kid is on a big rock kick.
This park is minutes from Petoskey the city and state park. We used one day to trip up to Mackinac Island. If you adventure, make sure to clock in a few days here because there is so much to do.
The stairs up to the loft are a bit steep so it required a bit of watching when our kid or dog went up and down the stairs.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Marvin's. It was a pleasure to meet him and his wife, who were incredibly warm and hospitable.
The RV is located in front of their house, yet we felt it offered a sense of privacy and tranquility. There was ample space both inside and outside. The place was very clean and equipped with all the essentials, including towels, kitchen supplies, wifi. It was well-stocked. They even provided us with coffee and creamer, ensuring we had everything we needed.
While the bed was a little uncomfortable, we slept well and had plenty of space to stretch out.
Overall, if you're seeking a getaway, I recommend booking this RV.

Weekend Trip to pineleaf.
We had a wonderful time staying at Pineleaf! Our host, Tim, was very welcoming and hospitable. We stayed in the cabin. We woke up every morning to a great variety of birds and wildlife surrounding us, especially in the gorgeous field that the deck overlooked. The bed and outhouse bathroom were exceptionally clean. We highly recommend staying here and hope to come back soon!

We ended up not staying here. Our travel plans changed within 24 hours of booking and Hipcamp wouldn't refund us due to the property's strict cancellation policy. I would be more careful booking in the future. I hear this is a great property, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Tims cabin is so awesome and relaxing. It's just you and nature. It's a little drive off grid on a little dirt road easily accessable for any vehicle. Tim make sure to help you in anyway. If it's all the stuff he stocks in the cabin just in case you forgot something, to offering you information on what there is to do close to camp. This was our fourth stay and it was only for one night. My wife and I were on the way home from the U.P. and needed some where to stay about half way. It was nice catching up with Tim ( who we consider a good friend ) I'm glad he's giving us a chance to enjoy his piece of paradise . Thanks again Tim!

Awesome spot, super beautiful, and Jeremy is great. One major thing to keep in mind: you will definitely want a 4WD vehicle if there has been heavy rain, the dirt road can get flooded out. Otherwise, great place and can’t wait to go back.
