There is a kayak and paddleboard available to borrow. There is a dryflush toilet, hand sink and outdoor heated shower in the back of the tent. Cooking is on charcoal grill and toaster oven. The 40 acre pond is 65 feet deep. It is a kettle pond which is spring fed with no river inlets to pollute it. Access is a little tricky with 100 yard hike from the parking area down a steep slope. The pond is stocked with bass and trout for great fishing. The birds are amazing. Henry David Thoreau wrote about White Pond in his book, Walden as the "emerald eyes of the world." When we first purchased our property, we were made aware of a young fella needing a spot to set up his yurt. He lived with us for two years before moving along. We had enjoyed having him and his yurt on our land so when he left, It left a virtual and metaphorical hole.
A couple years later we had an opportunity to purchase a yurt from an outdoor adventure company and so it began. We improved upon our tenant's idea by adding a proper outhouse and outdoor shower area. The space offered us a quiet haven during hectic times and now we are ready to share that opportunity.
Our yurt sits on a quiet and private nook on our 7 acre property. We are right in between Kennebunk and Biddeford so there are quite a number of areas to explore if you make us your home base. It is a lovely 6 mile ride to Goose Rocks Beach or you can spend an afternoon walking around Dock's Square in Kennebunkport. Biddeford is a rapidly rebuilding mill town that has made several high profile food and travel publications for its great dining spots.
If you are visiting to get away from the city, we are less than a mile away from the Eastern Trail which connects South Portland to Kittery, ME. Bring a bike or plan a quiet walk. We have a little fire pit so feel free to spend the day here and enjoy the birds.

Welcome to Long Shores Yurt, a unique off-grid glamping experience in a 20-foot Two Girls Farm yurt. Our yurt is completely off-grid, with no electricity, no Wi-Fi, no running water, and spotty cell service. A wood stove keeps the yurt warm and cozy during chilly nights, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax, just a short walk from the private neighborhood beach!
Guests will park in front of the property and walk a short path from the parking area to the yurt. Along the way, you'll pass a shed that contains the compost toilet, propane camp stove, and pump sink.
There is no running water on-site, so guests may want to bring their own drinking water. There is a rainwater collection system with two barrels outside that is typically full, but we cannot guarantee water will be available. We also do not recommend drinking this water, as it is neither tested nor filtered.
Inside the yurt, there is a wood stove available for use during chilly days and nights. Please note that there is no heat in the shed.
The urine-diverting compost toilet is located inside the shed behind a curtain. It has a ventilation hose and will remain odor-free as long as the provided instructions are followed.
Bedding is provided for the full-size bed. A flashlight is also available for your use. There are string lights inside the yurt that can be turned on using the remote or by pressing the button on the lights.
Please note that neighboring homes are visible on both sides of the property (see photos for proximity). We kindly ask that you respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 p.m.
The yurt is located on a dirt road with a few paved sections. You'll drive approximately 0.8 miles on the dirt road to reach the property, and some areas can be a bit bumpy. Parking is available in a dirt pull-off area off the road. Please do not park in the neighbors' driveways.
A solar shower bag is provided for your use. Simply fill it with water and leave it outside to warm in the sun. A pop-up outdoor shower enclosure is also available and is stored in the shed.
Other Things to Note
Please keep in mind that this is a glamping experience. While we do our best to remove bugs from inside the yurt, you should expect to see spiders and other insects during your stay.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are fully house-trained and are not left unattended inside the yurt. Dogs must be kept on a leash while outside, and guests are expected to clean up after their pets.

This is such a lovely and peaceful spot. It's so clear that a lot of thought went into the details. The main house can be seen from the campsite but it still feels very private (compared to others I've stayed at) because of the direction the yurt faces and tree coverage. Everything you could think to need is provided, while still maintaining the feeling of sleeping under the stars. Would have loved to stay longer!

Weekend Trip to Ponderings at White Pond
We celebrated my birthday weekend here. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a laid back, peaceful weekend by a beautiful clear pond. Claudine and Henry were excellent hosts and gave us a tour so we knew where everything was. They were 100% accessible to us, but we still had our privacy. I enjoyed using the paddle board.
We used to do more rustic camping for my birthday weekend but this was just the upgrade I needed for my beleaguered middle-aged body. The tent/cabin was very cozy and clean, with electricity so we could curl up to a movie at night with our laptop. A hot shower was much appreciated after a day of swimming. Very comfy bed.
We used the rocket stove for most of our meals, which is great for cooking in a pan or open flame grilling with just a small amount of wood. Also used the charcoal grill. The toaster oven was perfect for roasting potatoes.
I also just really enjoyed talking to them! Laid back, kind people and I would 100% visit again.

The coastal camper was such a lovely getaway. The camper had everything we needed and more for a memorable glamping weekend. We stayed with our 2 children and spent the days exploring trails to less populated beaches and the evenings by the campfire. It was a very hot weekend so the outdoor shower was sweet and we were grateful for the AC at night.

The most comfortable camping experience I’ve ever had! Super well equipped with everything you’d need. That shower is magical, and the bed is too. Watching the stars through the top of the yurt while laying in bed is so beautiful, 10/10 stay would love to come back again someday :)

Weekend Trip to Ponderings at White Pond
Claudine & Henry are very sweet & accommodating! Their property was amazing as it felt like being at a fancy hotel with nature's touch! Swimming multiple times in the pond and enjoying meals on the floating dock really made our trip! The electric kettle and toaster oven were also extremely useful especially during bad weather!

Weekend Trip to Dancing Lawn
We had a wonderful time at dancing lawn! The running water was amazing and the inside was very clean. We enjoyed using the fire pit in the evening, Jason and Kelly were very quick to respond, and we had an easy time finding the location even though we arrived late at night.

What an experience!! We usually tent camp so this was a real treat!
Jason and Kelly was super responsive and the yurt was truly an amazing experience
Showering outside was a luxury and my kids had a blast!

What an amazing retreat!! The bus was an event for my kids, not just a place to stay in. Jonathan is so kind and though they were away at the time, he says his family usually gets involved and plays with kids that stay. Everything was in like new condition including the gorgeous sauna. Will be back soon.
