Tucked on the lee side of Bauneg Beg, Ledge & Stone Farmstead is a quiet, settled piece of land shaped by time and use. Stone walls line the boundaries and divide the fields into smaller enclosures, giving the farm a natural sense of structure and calm. The setting is simple and open—pond, animals, and woods all within reach—offering space to walk, rest, and slow down. Minutes from the trails of the Great Works Bauneg Beg Hill Preserve, the farm also provides easy access to one of the area’s best local hikes. Set on a ridge with bedrock close to the surface, the land feels solid underfoot and steady in a way that’s hard to describe until you’re here. This is a place to step out of the noise and into something more grounded.Escape to a unique Maine farm stay in a converted school bus surrounded by woods, stone walls, and peaceful country scenery. Enjoy a cozy rustic interior, pond access with canoe/kayaks, farm animals, nearby hiking, campfires, and dark skies for stargazing. Perfect for guests seeking a quiet glamping-style retreat, creative escape, or nature getaway with a one-of-a-kind skoolie experience. The space Welcome to Ledge & Stone Farmstead, a 15-acre Maine homestead built around stone walls, pasture, forest, and a spring-fed pond. Wander the trails, visit the goats and mini horse, paddle the pond, or simply relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The bus sits in its own private area beyond the barn, giving guests a unique glamping experience with a blend of comfort, countryside charm, and dark skies perfect for stargazing. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the bus, pond, trails, pasture views, and common outdoor areas throughout Ledge & Stone Farmstead. Canoes and kayaks are available for use on the pond. You’re welcome to visit the goats and mini horse from outside their enclosures. The barn, workshops, fenced animal areas, and private residence are not part of the guest space. Please be mindful of electric fencing and leave gates as you find them. Other things to note This is a working homestead and glamping experience, not a hotel. Guests should expect natural sounds, wildlife, farm animals, uneven terrain, and occasional farm activity. The bus is located beyond the barn on a private hillside overlooking the property. The pond is natural and may contain aquatic plants and seasonal wildlife. Electric fencing is used in some animal areas. During spring and summer, you may see baby goats in the pasture and wild rabbits raising their young among the historic stone walls. Nights are quiet, dark, and ideal for stargazing. Guests seeking a peaceful countryside retreat tend to enjoy the experience most.
