It is run as a small non-profit animal sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats, and pigs, as well as two humans and their dog and cat companions. The main property is fenced in, with a large back field great for tent camping, and an orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. The 1.3 acre parcel across the street from the house and farm has a forested peninsula that the A-frame is located on. Our street ends in a small stream that continues to separate the farmstead from the A-frame site. Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, ducks, muskrats, rabbits, geese, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species. A place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin in the driveway The cabin has a a full size mattress with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses

We had an amazing time! When we got there we were greeted by Jody & she was AMAZING! She helped us get settled in and made sure we knew that if there was anything we needed we could call her. The beds were incredibly comfortable, it downpoured so hard for most of the night and the dome was great! It didn’t let a single drop of rain in. There’s a wood stove in the dome and it was enough to keep us toasty warm even though it was in the low 30’s, they also provide tons of warm comfy blankets. There was plenty of wood chopped right outside the domes so if you run out it’s very close. We were able to go and help feed the herd and had the opportunity to give plenty of scratches! In the morning we booked the hike with the horses with Tatianna & Chris which was amazing! We were actually in the areas with the gorgeous herd and were able to get hands on again! I honestly could go on all night talking about how amazing it was but in my opinion the very best part of everything was the fact that every single cent that I spent while we were there went right back into caring for and maintaining the herd. When I was looking for a place to go that’s what sealed the deal and made the decision to pick this place very easy!! I highly HIGHLY recommend checking it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

I loved this location, I’m from the town and did not realize this was available. When I pulled up there were agricultural tours going on but everyone cleared out before sunset and I was able to set up a nice secluded area for my fire, great views over the cranberry bog and located closely to convenience stores

The property and wild horses was breath taking the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The staff and owners were beyond friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. This was so much fun! To wake up and see the horses (and donkeys!) wandering right outside our dome was perfect, and getting to do the walk about with MacKenzie and learn about the horses and their background was so interesting. The dome was clean and cozy, with a little wood stove. We weathered a hurricane in October with no problems.

We loved tent camping at the stonewall site!! Our hosts were incredibly understanding about a late arrival, and were quick to get back to us regarding any questions we had. The land was absolutely beautiful and we spent hours on the pond paddling around in the canoe, and fishing. The camping site itself was spacious, and yes you can hear some road noise but it absolutely fades away into the background after a short while. 100% will be back, and would reccomend.

We had a great camping trip here! It was our toddler's first trip, and he can't stop talking about how fun it was. He loved visiting the animals and running up and down the trail. Our spot was private and easy to get to. I think if we did it again with him (and our absurdly giant tent) we would go with the Orchard site because it looked a little bigger, but we were very comfortable. Like any piece of woods in New England, it's not a bad thing to have poison ivy wipes with you, especially if you're with a tiny human who loves to disregard the paths. We loved having farm fresh eggs in the morning! We already recommended it to friends.

We had a great time. It was exactly as described in previous reviews. Short, steep hike, a bit of noise from the road, but far enough away to feel in the woods. The highlight was the access to the pond, kayak and canoe. My kids enjoyed paddling around.

This site is a dream. Jae will send you a list of nearby attractions to visit but you will not at all want to leave the magic of the A-frame. The spot is perfectly secluded, simultaneously buried in the woods and full of sunlight, quiet and clean — it was the most rejuvenating weekend escape from the city (my partner and I both slept better than we have in a long time!) The citronella torches kept the mosquitos away, the toilet was easy and clean, and Jae gives you everything you might need (toilet paper, camp stove, water for drinking, water for washing, etc). Will be recommending this site to all of my friends!! Thank you Jae!

Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses

MacKenzie’s wild horse sanctuary is a very special place! We had a great experience. All of the staff were very knowledgeable and kind. We learned a lot about their mission and had a lot of interaction with the horses. The glamping domes were very comfortable and nicely decorated. There was a grill by the communal campfire for cooking, but you will need to bring your own pots and pans, utensils, plates, etc. You should also bring your own drinking water. The terrain near the domes is rocky and uneven, so you should bring good shoes, even if you don’t plan on hiking. You have to walk for a little bit to get to the outhouse, but it is the nicest-looking and nicest-smelling outhouse you will ever see! If you love horses, put this place on the top of your list!
