Originally a classic New England farm, this property feels secluded and private but is centrally located in Suffield, CT. Our house was built in 1830 and was the original farm manager’s residence. My partner and I are working on restoring it.
In a former life, I owned a hostel with shared bunk and private cabin accomodation in the North Cascades of Washington State. I love hosting guests of all kinds and from all places!
We are located just minutes from Agawam MA, The Big E, Six Flags New England, Springfield MA, MGM Casino, Enfield, CT, Suffield Academy, and Bradley International Airport. We are about 35 minutes to Hartford, CT.
We have a huge backyard with two spots for RVs or camper vans that have self contained toilet facilities :
-Biscuit's Back Bay: Lower backyard- requires driving down a hill to flat pad to park and then up the hill to depart
-Mapleton Ridge: Upper section of backyard before the hill
We are working on building an outhouse to accommodate tent and car campers. In the meantime you are welcome to #1 in the woods, but #2 will have to wait until you are at a local restaurant or other venue!

Set up for primitive camping, Base Camp is a clean slate for anyone seeking the peace and quiet of the Vermont woods. The site is not equipped for RV hookups or indoor amenities. But what it lacks in facilities, it more than makes up for with direct access to incredible local hiking and easy on/off access to the VAST trail, which leads to the summit of our beloved Ballou Mountain. Bring your mountain bikes or ATVs and get exploring!
Adventure at Base Camp is rewarding year-round. In the warmer months, pack your swimming gear for a dip at nearby South Pond—a perfect spot for kayaking as well. Don’t forget to stock up on supplies in Greenfield, MA (about 30 minutes away), or from one of the many local farm stands before heading off the grid. (Technically off the grid—but yes, there’s cell service here for those who can’t go fully unplugged!)
As kids, we both spent countless hours exploring the woods, soaking up everything nature had to offer. Now, as adults and partners, we’re grateful to share that same love of the outdoors with others. With the support of our wonderful Vermont neighbors—who take pride in doing things the right way—we’ve built a retreat that embodies serenity. A Tranquil Escape with Exceptional Hospitality.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, this campsite is a hidden gem. Virtually no traffic noise and no distractions. It is a calm oasis.
Audrey, the host, was incredibly responsive and kind. From the moment we booked, she was quick to answer questions and made sure everything was perfect for our arrival. Her attentiveness added a personal touch that made the stay even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend for anyone seeking serenity and a host who genuinely cares. Can't wait to return!

This is a great spot! It's close to a lot of attractions but gives a remote farmy feel. It's nice and quiet- feels very private. Lots of birds, squirrels and bunnies. Sunset from Audrey's place is really incredible. Audrey was super friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend camping here. I'll be back!

Joel was great. I wasn't clear about my teardrop camper and he felt it would have been difficult to navigate into the site. I really appreciated his concern. We were able to work out a solution that saved the reservation and gave me the flexibility I needed to be in the area overnight. If you've never been to the Deerfield River area, you are totally missing out on a wonderful experience. Nestled along the river are thousands of acres of farm land, in production, along with quiet country roads that are awesome for cycling.

Mark is such a great host and just a really nice guy. The spot is unbelievable. We had complete privacy on an almost magical piece of property. He set it up so nicely with signs identifying each location. I really can’t say enough good things. It’s our favorite hipcsmp site by far.

Mark is a great host and very accommodating, his camp and property are some of the quietest we've ever stayed on with our 16' camper. Each corner of the property is more beautiful than the next. Between the serene pond, swaying maples and a small vineyard, you'll find yourself in no short supply of relaxing scenes. Stop scrolling and book it now! There is no Verizon service at the site but a small walk uphill will get you a bar if need be. Our dogs were on cloud 9 between swimming and frolicing. We will definitely be staying again! A+

Amazing campsite with a beautiful view. Great wooden furniture provided for a very comfortable stay. Paddle boat was a super fun bonus to have as well. Mark was very friendly and accommodating. It is clear he takes great care of the site.

This was our second stay here, and we can’t say enough great things about it. We had nice weather so we spent a lot of time by the pond, used the grill, sat by the fire pit, and even watched some downloaded shows on our laptop at night in the screened gazebo. We are truly grateful to Mark and his family for this site and for being such excellent hosts!

This campsite is a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful spot. the huge space makes our stay super comfortable. We loved the peaceful atmosphere that exists over there. Plenty of other fun stuffs nearby kept us busy during the day. We were able to find a lot of dead trees to use as firewood. We'll definitely be back for another relaxing weekend getaway soon.

Mark was a wonderful host and the site is beautiful, large and very private! I was there solo with my dog and we enjoyed being able to explore the area near the water (and use the boat but watch out for the resident snakes living underneath!) and also the gazebo for some respite from the bugs which did make an appearance after many days of rain. Mark has created a lovely and welcoming space for campers to enjoy and has supplied everything you might need.

Beautiful secluded spot with a pleasant stream nearby. Parking area could be better labeled, but the spot itself is near perfect. Comfortable with many trails and wooded areas to explore. The train passed several times at night, but it didn’t bother us.
